Homecoming Weekend

Yes, but he at least had a strong family unit around him to encourage him to come forward and confess, to be accountable for what he had done. It doesn't make it any better, but it does say a lot for the ethics of his family that they would not condone or protect him after he murdered his wife.
very true...I think in Raven's case, denial aint just a pretty river in Egypt!

Exactly Moxie. The Hacking family seemed try and find out the truth. The Abaroas seem to be simply relying on Raven's word (ETA--not a good idea).

BTW--I was told that Raven stayed at a local hotel while visiting VA. Which would mean that he would have had to rent a car? Interesting for a part-time bike shop employee.

You are right. He seems to have a pretty good cash flow for a part-time bike shop employee. Hmmm...

Moxie--are you a Tom Petty fan (your title underneath your screen name)?

Yep! But really, that song just keeps going through my mind. I know LE is working hard on this, and that in the end, they will get their man. It is just waiting that is hard!! :)

has there been any outcry in Utah about this case from the Abaroa or Bolton family?
Butting in here, but there hasn't been a peep in the news or from the Abaroas/Boltons here. I hear from some of their neighbors that they think everyone is talking about them but no one has any idea why the Abaroas/Boltons think that. These neighbors did not have a clue about Raven's recent legal issues and had just heard that Janet had passed away, not that she had been murdered or that Raven was so close at the time of her death. I don't know if the Abaroas/Boltons think it will all go away if they pretend it didn't happen or what?!

First, I think that it's a horrible that the Utah media never picked up on this case since there is another potential wife-killer in their midst now.

Second, if I were a member of the Abaroa family and thought that my relative were innocent, I would have been on TV saying so. So does this point to the fact that maybe the Abaroa's secretly believe that Raven is guilty? Maybe that's the reason for their silence. Could Raven's attorney advised him and his family to remain silent? Sure, but if I were innocent of a crime that I was the main suspect in, I would be screaming at the top of my lungs that I didn't do it. Every chance that I got. Now if I were guilty of such a crime too, I'd probably either shy away from the limelight or I'd get on TV saying I was innocent too. The funny thing about the general public is that they can form a pretty good opinion on their own. They go with their gut and usually their gut is spot on. Here my gut is telling me that Raven did it. Other cases, my hunch tells me differently.

Sorry, just rambling.

JF,

You're not rambling at all. What you say makes sense.

Thanks for butting in NK! Would the Abaroas/Boltons think that their neighbors are talking about them because they are hiding something? Usually people aren't paranoid unless there is a reason.....hmmm....wonder what their reason could be???:waitasec: Do you know what the neighbors think now that they know Janet was murdered and raven was home at TOD?

I know some think Raven is probably the guilty party, based just on statistics, the husband being the most likely suspect. The few I've heard from also are trying not to rush to judge either. They believe in an individual being innocent until proven guilty.

Ah, Newkid, I know the old " innocent until proven guilty."

I'm not the Judge, Jury or the Executioner on this case, but guilty is guilty whether proven or not, and Judgment will come, obviously someone played executioner already with Janet, and Justice will be served, especially when This COLD BLOODED DOUBLE MURDER stands before God!

Are you sure?? I so want to believe this, but I am losing faith. I don't want to sound harsh, but I think the Christiansen Family needs to step it up and put pressure on LE. We all know the Abaroa's will do nothing, raven will do nothing, it's been toooooo long, it's time to be in your face, "I'm not going any where until I get some answers", massive media coverage..etc. I think LE is counting on the Christiansens to be passive and unquestioning. LE has botched the case, it's time to go else where(the media) and get some real answers or at least stir things up. I just don't believe that LE is just crossing their T's...IMO, they have screwed up the case and are just buying time. There is no valid reason that raven is still walking around if he truly is a POI...they just don't have evidence against him. PLEASE, PLEASE prove me wrong on this and PLEASE, PLEASE Christiansen Family, step it up and put massive pressure on LE, don't take unanswered questions..time is up for LE there needs to be an arrest.

I so hope you're not right on this. I'm starting to have my doubts of le, too. It's getting annoying at this point!! Do we need to go over & make a citizens arrest, or what?!
I keep wondering if they're afraid to make a move on this because of the whole Michael Peterson debacle, or what, but it's beginning to annoy me, as well.

I'm still relying strongly on the wait for all forensics in this case to come through and the wait is for First Degree as opposed to 2nd or Manslaughter in this case.

..so am i, i've said it before---------LE is backlogged..waiting on forensics.....they're crossing their I's/dotting their T's ...before making a solid arrest.......

..but-----what if "T.V." ISN'T like 'real life' ??? on T.V. of course we see it all come together within the hour...........what if LE , in this case, completely dropped the ball early on in this case ? quite frankly, it scares me that they have been so silent for so long........because they have so much that they cannot reveal? or because they have nothing ?

.i remember being shocked that the landlord sold the house ---( the crime scene!!) SO soon after the murder...........

..i would LIKE to continue to put my faith in LE..........but, i wish they'd tell us something..........

I'm trying to figure out how I would act if I knew a potential murderer moved back into my neighborhood....hmmm.....I think I would be pretty uncomfortable. Can you imagine if any of these neighbors have daughters? Yikes! Whether you believe in the innocent until proven guilty theory, I certainly don't think you would want to try that out with one of your own children. I am sure there are plenty of parents that wouldn't want their daughter (no matter how old she was) hanging around Joran or the Satish Brothers in Aruba -- even though they haven't been proven guilty of a crime.

Statistics show: raven is probably guilty of murder
All the rest shows: raven is not a nice human being

I don't think anyone outside his own family considers Raven a good influence and I don't know anyone who wants to spend time with him. I don't think there is much concern about Raven getting too chummy with anyone impressionable or vulnerable though because the Abaroas/Boltons are avoiding everyone. Also many people are familiar with Raven and don't like how he comes across as fake and superficial. Most everyone I know is trusting in LE and even if LE drops the ball, God won't.

NK, thanks for the information. You are so right with the idea that raven isn't going anywhere nice after he dies...I'm just hoping he pays for his crime here too.

I am wondering if the Abaroa/Bolton family were social and had friends before Janet was murdered? Is the way their acting unusual for them?

Amen to that.
