Um, what?! He just "cremated" him after accidentally shooting him, per his report, because that's what his son would have wanted? Crazy. I wonder if someone else found out and forced his hand so he had to call it in.

State Bar of Texas | Find A Lawyer | Michael C. Howard

awe man, I didn't realize the 20 year old son had downs :( I don't know why exactly but that makes this case worse to me. And this father is an attorney? Of all the stupid plans to try to coverup killing his son, this mess is what he came up with? and then self reported anyway? what in the more to this story is going on here? I am glad his bond is so high (20 Million) as it sounds as if he has the means to pay a substantial bond.

A father has been charged with fatally shooting his adult son with Down syndrome at a home in East Texas after claiming he had mistaken him for an intruder and then later burning his body in what authorities on Thursday described as a “bizarre crime.”

I’m an attorney and I have an amazing 23 year old son with Down syndrome. This story sickens me.
