How Are You Going To Watch Trial ? Live Feed & Smart Phone Info

I am the "Boss" where I work - but I have a very interrupted type of job. I am going to bring my laptop and at least try to listen to it all while I am working on the office desktop computer. (and answering phones, and answering questions, and turning down the volumn when kids walk in, etc....) It will be kind of like having a giant radio under or next to my desk. I think I would be pushing it if I brought headphones. pffftt. I was off work the entire year of the OJ trial and got to watch it start to finish. I got hooked on real-time trials.

Ok, just so I don't miss anything, the jury selection is not televised, right? And the actual trial is currently scheduled to begin on Tuesday the 17th?

Jury selection starts May 9 at 9:00 a.m. and it will be televised..... and yes, the trial begins on May 17.

HOLY GUACAMOLE, BATMAN! They televise the jury selection??????? WOW! I missed that bit of info!!!

thankyouthankyouthankyou!

Oh, I'm so jealous of those of you that are able to take time off, work from home, have to have surgery (just kidding on that one! hope all turns out well...). I work a full time job, then come home and work at my side job. I have visions of being up until all hours of the night to catch up here and watching the videos of each day of the trial. I can't watch at the full time job as I work for 2 companies in the same building and am just too busy, darn it!

I will, however, take a vacation day for the first day of the trial and others along the way - like when a really important person is going to testify. And of course the last day when the verdict is read.

PS - Welcome back, Aedrys :)

<sigh> I hate to do this to you all, But do you realize the Drew Peterson Trial also starts in May as well as the Michael Jackson trial? I have followed the Peterson Story as well, and will have to follow as well. <sigh>

:great: :great: :great:

Here are a few suggestions for getting out of "work" for the Trial :

1. PTSD.
2. "Diminished Mental Capacity".
3. My "father" abused me...
4. My "brother" abused me...
5. I dropped off my daughter with "Zanny the Nanny" and I have not seen her for 31 days...
6. My daughter's Nanny had an "auto accident" and she is in the hospital and I need to go to the hospital and yada yada yada ...
7. Oh ... I am getting a tattoo ...
8. My husband and I got a letter from a Towing Company that my daughter's car has been towed and we need to go get it out of the tow yard ...
9. There's a "strange smell" in my car and I think my husband ran over a "squirrel" and it's dead somewhere in the car ...
10. "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car"...

A few suggestions for those who do NOT work and need to get out of the house ... to watch the Trial :

1. I am now an "event planner" at ...
2. I have a job as a "promoter" at the latest dance club ... we're having "shot night" tonight and everyone's coming by ...
3. I will be at (take your pick) Disney, Universal, Magic Kingdom this morning and afternoon ...
4. I will be at the Beach ... if you need me call ...
5. I will be in Jacksonville ...

I hope these excuses help ... Please feel free to add to the list since the Trial is appx 2 months so there will be many excuses needed ...

:great:

So what are you trying to say?

:nevermind:

If I can speak for you... for just second...

Those of us that can keep everyone updated will, but remember, the videos will be there for everyone to watch after. So you won't miss anything, and actually those that can't watch live have a HUGE advantage! We can tell what is or isn't worth watching.

glad to see you back aedrys :seeya:

well, I'm the boss who set the rules that say no personal use of company computers and no personal electronic gadgets allowed while on duty - so I can't very well violate my own rules and set a bad example for my staff - so watching while at work isn't going to be an option for me - though I am considering some creative scheduling that will allow me to watch some of it live - still I will depend largely upon DVR and internet videos - haven't figured out when I'll sleep though

lol, go right ahead...

My second job involves working until about 9pm every night, so even with highlights by all of you excellent posters :rocker: I'll still be up until 1am at least - some of the hearing threads have been 1000+ posts so I can imagine how long the trial ones will be! Guess I'll mostly catch up on the videos on the weekends.

I feel your pain.

I tried to pull up the frye hearings on my phone... and all I could get is the highlights text version... The live windows were there..but nothing would come on... I even downloaded the Wesh and Wftv apps.... nothing but text highlights. Am or was I doing something wrong?

Wish I could help more but I honestly don't know a lot about Android phones. I googled and found a list of flash compatible Android devices on the adobe website. Maybe you could check there and see if your phone is on the list and if you can find what you need to get flash installed in order to make the videos work.

I'll watch while I'm working thru the sites posted here, and I'm more than sure our fine contributors here will keep those of us that get busy updated. I'm just wondering, because I wasn't here for the Peterson trial, how ya'll did that because to me the threads would be super duper long, way longer than for the current hearings.
Do you know that you can change the number of posts/page you view under your user controls? I have mine set for like 100/page, so I don't have as many pages...

I won't be watching Conrad Murray's trial.:snooty: Even though I think he's guilty of negligence, I feel he did the world a favor by ridding us of a child molester!:twocents:

OT-Are you sure about the start time of the Peterson trial? I thought we were still waiting for the results of what hearsay can come in, from the Illinois Supreme Court. :waitasec:

If there's a trial date on this, it's a new one on me.:waitasec:

I'm allowed to go on the internet at work as long as my work is finished. The problem is that the office is too small to allow me to use sound. :sigh:

I plug an earbud into my speakers at work....that way only I can hear the sound!

I fortunately ( seriously it WAS a good thing!)I will be home for the duration of the trial and be able to help summarize for everyone unable to watch, I'll take good notes for you all with times on video to check for the highlights!

Respectfully snipped.

Thank you, thank you, thank you from someone who will only be able to read what's going on during their breaks and lunch! :great:
