How do you feel about the memorial service planned for Caylee?

I had a memorial for my mom about 5 months after she passed last year and it was a celebration of her life. She didn't want a funeral with people grieving, she wanted a celebration. When I looked it up online, I found information on having a celebration of life memorial. It ended up being a beautiful affair. Our family and her friends that I never got to meet that lived far away had their own memorial for her.

A friend of mine, as he was dying, requested an Irish wake. Almost none of the invited knew eachother. But, it ended up very therapeutic.

I never said that having the search shouldn't happen.. I think that LP having a "memorial" for her, well, that's just inappropriate.. This man has defamed this family so much.. When I think of all of the hurt this family has felt from his lies, how could they not be angry about this??

We many never find a body. However, LE does have forensic evidence of Caylee's passing, and of some crime having led to her death.

After hearing and watching the drama unfold in front of my eyes and ears, I have come to the conclusion thats where Caylee was left by her mother as her place of resting. With that being said, this is the perfect place for a memorial for little caylee. She can look down to her favorite spot in the park that she loved to play.

I think miss baby in her post said it very well about LP. So what if he drawls the media to this. The Anthonys could have called LP, like she said, but no she had to come there and make a spectical of her self. The protestors have left them alone and they are still drawling to the media to make asses of themselves.

If LP would have said this is a "memorial for a live caylee" Cindy would have been on it like flies on , and pushed her way to the front for the media attention as well. See it doesnt really matter which direction a person goes or believes Cindy will wiggle her way into the lime light of the situation.

My mother was there when that took place, and was by the bathroom when ga and ca were about to get into the vehicle, she told me these to ppl looked evil and cindy looked so drugged up. My mother was shocked seeing them in person and getting a true look through her own eyes instead the eyes of the media. She was so taken back by there behavior it just blew her mind. My mother has lost a child so she knows what it is like to live with the greiving, dealing, why, I don't understand, and finally accepting to be able to move on with her life. I can tell you it changed her dramatically and to this day she is not the same person she was prior to his death. So it doesnt really matter how the manner of death occurs we all go through a number of emotions in a way that puts a reaction into the "normal reaction catagory", but the A's are way out of this realm or "normal reaction catagory".

I hope and pray that this has made LP even more determined to get back up on his horse to find little caylee. I look at leanord like the cowboy he is, casey is the bucking horse she bucks him off and makes him look like a fool, so he gets back on again so to not look like the fool casey did when he bailed her out. I hope he mustards up the ppl with the equipement to drag the floor of that river bed. I feel so strongly that something is in there of caylee.

Hope this makes some sense im not good at putting my feelings/thoughts down in writting cause my thoughts go so much fast than i can type.

Well, I just watched the prayer/memorial service by the pond/riverbank and I must say it was beautiful and heartfelt. Rev. Grund was gracious and eloquent. I think it shook LP. The poor man kept sighing and blowing his breaths out of pursed lips. I felt empathy for this man as he has given so much time, energy and himself in looking for Caylee. The searchers and other folks that attended were solemn, respectful and grieving as they too have given time, energy and themselves. They went into harms way on Caylee's behalf, the searchers have given so freely of themselves. I thought it a very befitting place and time to hold this service whatever anyone wants to call it. It was obvious this was not done for spite or anything else, it was done for the love of a child.

I was VERY happy to hear that RG explained to LP that this was a Prayer Service and NOT a Memorial. That is the proper etiquette for holding such an event at this time. From what I could hear and see of Cindy's confrontation with LP, that was her main concern. I think that is reasonable and fair. A memorial service, when held, is for the benefit of the family and those people who actually knew the deceased. It is not something to be hijacked by people who never even knew Caylee, even if they are emotionally invested in this situation.

For those of you who disagree, think of it this way:
There should only be 1 memorial or funeral for a single person. It is a momentous occaision and not one to be trifled with or done in the heat of the moment. Most importantly, how would you feel if a close relative of yours died and a bunch of people you don't know and your relative never knew, suddenly decided to hold a funeral or memorial service for your relative without consulting you and you find out about the event by the announcement in the newspaper. That is the equivalent of what Cindy felt was going on. RG, as a minister, understands this. That is why he corrected LP and told him, this could only be a prayer service.

I know on many ocassions there are more than one memorial service. Sometimes school chums will hold their own memorial, family may have a private and a public memorial, and others may organize small but respectful memorials. There is not a thing wrong with it. A FUNERAL and a MEMORIAL are not the same thing. A funeral is when the family buries their dead, and in some cases, when there is no body but they have evidence of death, they hold a "memorial funeral" with no body. A memorial can be held by anyone who is intensely emotionally involved, and in this case, strangers have come to know and love Caylee through photos, stories and videos and there is not one thing wrong with them "memorializing" her in respect and honor.:waitasec:

Maybe you could council CA at some point........ BUT this isn't YOUR granddaughter !!! Don't presume to know what is going on with a family that is NOT your own.
This is THEIR grandchild, people seem to think they themselves have some God given right to dictate what happens to her and they DO NOT!

I don't know, but I suspect that God doesn't take baby-murder too kindly. In fact, IIRC, the Bible says. "It would be better for him to be thrown in the sea with a millstone around his neck, than to hurt one of these (children). Paraphrased, of course.

So, when you counsel, do please say that if one tells the truth (as the As have not) and cooperates with LE (ditto), and, in fact, actually SEARCHES for the child (again) one will be given ALL the respect and sympathy in the world. MOO

One doesn't need to look inward to determine the dif between being "seriously ill" and dead. The dif is in the forensics. Body fluids, DNA, death-banded hair. No Socratic reasoning or introspection needed.

I put I didnt know what to think......I think it is a nice gesture, and we all deserve closure, wether or not we share Caylee's blood. I got thinking today, wouldnt it be wonderful to have a special rock and plaque in Memory of Caylee Marie Anthony.......not soon, but when this whole mess is figured out, I would love to see a Memorial site for her, wether she is in that park or not.

Some horrible things HAVE happened to my family, thanks for asking. And, we all behaved like civilized adults.

Caylee's death did not "happen," someone DID it. Someone who could get out, get pregnant, and do it, again.

The rest of the family can choose to assist with or obstruct the investigation. They appear to have made that choice.

Quite a few of us know EXACTLY what we'd do.

If a daughter of mine killed a helpless tot, I'd bust her myself.

Of course, that would not happen, because lying and stealing, or other crimes or misbehaviors would not be condoned, in my house.

I would not lie to LE, because it's not only illegal and unproductive, it's STUPID. They have the resources to get the information, anyway. I also would not refuse to cooperate or keep changing the information.
