How far would you go to protect a kidnapper?

  • #61
There wouldn't be any murder charges if there wasn't evidence of a death, so the only kidnapper Casey is protecting must be herself.

I really believe that whatever the truth is, a faked kidnapping/hoax was somehow involved. A lot of details and dynamics in this case remind me of the Shannon Matthews kidnapping hoax in Britain.

9 Yr. Old Drugged and Tied Up In Mother's 24 Day Fake Kidnapping Plot

Mother Lied to Police

Mother "Jekyl & Hyde" During 24 Day Search for Missing Daughter

Mother "Uninterested" In Missing Daughter's Welfare

Kidnapping Hoax Search Cost Police £3.2m

Divers Search Pond As Concern For Missing Child Grow

Giggling Mum Told Neighbours She Wanted to Bed Policeman Guarding Her While Daughter Missing

...etc....

Does anyone else see the similarities and have ideas?

I'm just curious. Let's play devil's advocate and assume for the sake of this thread that Caylee was, in fact, kidnapped and KC is protecting her family and Caylee by taking the fall.

I keep on waiting for KC to break down and finally tell all. She waited and kept everyone from LE on the edge of their seats when she went to Universal and walked boldly right straight to the office that was never hers. Ballsy!

How far would you let a scenario like that go before you just trusted LE and gave them all of the information. EVEN if it was the Mafia. EVEN if they had threatened to kill you and/or your family. How far?

Would you let a grand jury indict you on a murder 1 charge?
Would you keep your mouth shut, even while in protective custody?

I would call LE and ask them to call the FBI immediately. The FBI has specialized teams for this. No individual could do what they do.

It is just a LIE.

Precisely >< far. And not a pixel further.

Are you kidding me?

I for one would go out to a club and dirty dance with a bunch of skanky girls then go and get a tattoo.

If I felt it was protecting one of my children by doing so then YES I would.

I would assume that script-writing kidnappers who threaten to kill my child probably do not have her best interests in mind to begin with.

I would go directly to the FBI and tell them everything I know and proceed however they advised and keep my mouth shut to everyone else about the kidnapping. I would make up stories to cover the child's absence to everyone except the FBI. And I would be hanging out with my new beau, an FBI guy, going to places where these "types" hang out, to see if I could spot the kidnapper, if so advised.

But, they wouldn't find decomp or "death hairs" in my car.

The purpose of this thread was to make us think about what we "normal" people would do in a situation of a kidnapping (call FBI/LE etc. in a panic) and if there WERE demands from kidnappers (like keeping to a script) whether or not we would do it and for how long. How far would we go.

It's obvious that this is not a kidnapping.

CA can blow smoke all she wants - NO ONE has acted like it was a kidnapping from "day one" (sorry). She and GA haven't either. Not even for one second have they done what you or I would do in the event our child/grandchild was possibly kidnapped by some babysitter that I had never seen or talked to.

What's going to happen when their house of cards falls down (looks like it's on the brink right now)?

Casey's line of protecting Caylee because of a kidnapping comes straight out of a soap opera - but Casey forgot one thing - kidnappers want something in return and Casey has nothing to give - so the kidnapping story is so full of holes

Ugh. Disgusting.

I think 9-1-1 operators and LE interrogators should be trained to immediately suspect a person who reports someone else "missing."

Remember SP? He called Laci's mom and said she was "missing."

I think anyone who is really panicking likely says, "Help. My (loved one) hasn't come home, and I can't reach her/him."

Here is a quick note from someone who was kidnapped, me. A man escaped from prison, broke into our house, shot my Lhasa Apso(a sweet little dog trying to protect our home), spent the day at our house. My husband arrived home first, he was held at gun point and hog tied to our computer chair using furnace tape and computer wire. When I arrived home I was met at the door with a gun to my head and a knife to my throat. He carried me into the master bedroom, blind folded me, then tied me to the poster bed where he cut my clothes off and did horrible things to me using a gun and a knife and other things. The point being is when you are kidnapped I saw him for maybe 3 seconds, I remembered his eye color, height , weight , hair color and cut and what he was wearing (My husbands clothes) by the description LE thought I knew this man because my description was so precise. I was able to pick him from a photo line up instantly. He stole one of our cars and was found in Tennessee where a high speed chase occurred and he was eventually captured in Oklahoma 10 days later. I could not free myself from my ties and it took my husband 1 hour to free himself. Our phone lines were cut and we went to our neighbors immediately to call the police. If Kc's story was true she would remember more details and be able to tell LE exactly what Caylee wore, ZF car, sister, or whatever story she made up. When you go through something like a Kidnapping you remember everything from the smell of their breathe to the type size of shoes they wear. We also have to remember she claims to have known these people with not very specific info which send off my BS meter. When something bad happens to you, at least for me I remember everything and 18 years later I remember his smells, size of his hands, these are things you don't forget when going through a traumatic event. The vagueness of KC's statements tell me for sure she is not telling the truth. But in her defense I remember having to fill out the victim papers and it is hard to let some of the horrific details out knowing that other people will know the intimate details of what happened to you. But this didn't happen to KC it happened to Caylee. May she not have suffered and lets bring Caylee home!

Dear sdavidson; WOW what a story; :( may God always hold you and your husband in his embrace. Wishing you only good thing going forward :blowkiss:

I do not think that Caylee was abducted either, because Casey would have been freaked out and not going dancing;
I think one of two things, and both are pretty scary thoughts:
1) Casey fed Caylee to the alligators and is very sure she will never be found.
2) Casey sold Caylee to someone overseas, and is very sure she will never be found.

I do not know why I keep on hearing Caylee in my minds eye screaming "No Mommy NO"
I hear it over and over again as I read these threads.

Zenaida & Sam told her to wait 30 days....

And yet she waits 31 days.

She's downright OVER-PROTECTIVE.

Or maybe, by that time it just slipped her mind that Caylee was gone?

I would instinctively trust LE far more than the kidnappers, and despite ANY threats made, would notify LE immediately. Not reporting = sure harm, IMO.

The whole story is ludicrous. It hasn't become less so with time.

Oh--and I know this wasn't part of the question, but in the elder As' shoes, I would not only have immediately told LE anything I knew--but I also would have applied the screws to get my kid to cough up the info. There is no way there'd be any coddling. It's one thing not to realize how far gone your kid is. It's quite another to conceal it when the realization hits.

C & G did not "ask" for any of Casey's evil, and I personally don't think they created it.

If they'd done the right thing (and George may have--he has no obligation to share that with the public), then I would not hold them accountable.

But CA, at least, seems to really have become a party to the crime. (Again, I don't know what George has told LE, but he at least seems to have been instrumental in KC's indictment, so I'll continue to reserve judgment.)

But back to topic, I not only would tell LE whatever I knew, I'd do my level best to squeeze info from the mother of my beautiful granddaughter.

I've had to turn a family member in--for far less. I know it's hard, but there's no question in my mind that I'd do it.
