How to Navigate Forum/Tips/Avatars/Pics

Yes, I see those pictures but I'm seeing a lot of people posting pictures as attachments. I can't see those and when I click on them I get a forbidden message. Here is an example (in the first post) of pictures which I can't see:

It is certainly reasonable to put a restriction on newbies posting attachments but why is there a restriction for newbies to simply view an attachment?

Dunno, but until you have 50 posts you won't see them. It's easy to rack up 50 posts... go to the game room and play a few games for a few minutes.

OK, I just went to the game room to post and, thanks to the game room, I have now developed obsessive compulsive disorder. ;)

But the good news is that I can now see the attachments in that thread.

LOL! This whole place is addictive! Good work AnnaMouse!

This is a test.

...and thanks to WS and all the wonderful people who work to make it so good.

(Just thought I'd add that. It needs to be said more often.)

Hi Mods! (Luv y'all) :blowkiss:

I have some questions. Searched WS for the answers and cannot seem to find them on my own. Could someone please point me in the right direction(s)? Have read every sticky and FAQ and TOS I can navigate to and can't find answers to these: (some sleuth I am, huh? LOL :Banane39: )

1. I find it convenient to keep 3 or 4 computer tabs open at the same time - representing 3 or 4 WS threads that I am following. Should I feel guilty? I mean, does this practice mean that I am taking up bandwidth needed by other posters? Also, does it appear to other posters that I am on multiple threads at the same time? (My screen name appear at the bottom of each thread for which I have a tab going or only on the one I am viewing?)

2. What the heck does a plus sign after a member's name mean? (example: screenname+) It seems to me that these +'s come and go. Curious.

3. Is there a list of "forbidden" web sites/message boards? Where can I find direction to avoid mentioning (could happen) or linking to a "no-no"? Or is this just a matter of experience?

FYI, I have been saved from ignorantly visiting some sites by other kind posters who voluntarily PM'd me (SuzyQ & Sewing Deb) and I'll always be grateful. I have also stumbled onto some pretty uncomfortable places in my early search using Google for info on the Caylee case. I won't go back to those places if I can avoid it. Since I found WS, I do not see the need to go many other places anyway.

Thank you for all you do. :gomods: Here's for all y'all --> :balloons:

Not a problem, I usually have at least a dozen going. You will show as reading any thread you have been on in the last 15 minutes, the mods can see what thread you most recently refreshed but seldom have any reason to.
OK, makes me feel better - didn't want to be selfish!
In means that member is on your buddy list.
*smacks forehead* DUH! And here I was thinking that my buds were special. HaHa on me!
Not really, it's a handful whose owners/admins have made various threats against the owner/mods here. If you try to post a link and it comes up as "*******" you've found one. In general they post big "copyright" notices saying nobody is allowed to copy stuff from their site or link to it without written permission and when people from WS have linked to it they send Tricia threatening (and usually really funny) letters, so we just block links. The funny thing is these sites without exception copy posts from here in violation of the same sort of copyright policy they scream about, but none of them are worth the time to deal with.
Typical 🤬🤬🤬 behavior. Why am I not surprised? So, one way to find out if a site is OK to mention or not is to test-post it's link (by previewing) even if you are not intending to link to the site. Then if you get the "*******" you know not to even mention it by name and can correct before submitting post. Got it. Thanks.
We post threatening emails and letters in the moderator area and make rude comments about them. It's fun!
If this means one has to be a Mod to see these funny missives, I'll pass. I admire what y'all do but I couldn't do it and stay sane! But you can bet your bippies that I'm going right now :Bicicleta: to see if I can find the "moderator area" in case it's available for viewing to us mere mortal members. Wishful thinking, I know. :bang:

Here's a cup of joe - - raising for your help. Thanks!

Why is is that some threads have the "View First Unread" at the top and some don't (like this one)?

I love that link, especially for really long threads!:) TIA!

Thanks, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬! This probably also explains why thread titles with new responses don't show up as bold sometimes.

Anna Mouse....I need 50 posts to see attachments too...so....even though I loathe and abhor games of any kind, I'm headed over to the game room. I'll probably end up with obsessive compulsive disorder also, LOL

Thanks Mods for this thread...I've been lurking for quite a while...then joined and continued to lurk. Need to find my way around a little better before I post that much though.

I have tried to find the right place to post, I thought it might be in the TOS area, but that is evidently not for posting questions, but for reading and obeying. So, I am asking here, IS IT ALLRIGHT to post a picture or map of an area? For example, I wanted to post a screen-shot of the area around Satsuma showing the waterways and so forth, but was unsure if this is allowed. Thank you for any help.

woooaaah, I know this has been said like a 1000 times, but she had a lot of time on her hands to get so many icons and crap.:loser::loser:

ok then choose "winRAR" if available or "compressed (zip) folders

Okay..I'm feeling completely computer illiterate here. I have the zipped folder on my desktop. I right click and extract to...where?
