UNbelievable.. Once again.. this is a scary example of people excusing away PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
Is is true the guy was DRAG RACING..??? How the hell is that an "Accident"....?? Oh, yeah, boys will be boys,, right?? Let's all excuse their behavior away. He didn't MEAN it! Like hell he didn't. Don't do stupid and ILLEGAL stuff,, and maybe bad things that will be YOUR fault... won't happen as much! This is the same BS as saying someone had a LOADED gun, POINTED it at someone (which most of us could not imagine doing unless we were in a bad situation protecting our own lives.. and most of us don't have a gun to begin with)-- and then OOPS-- I pulled the trigger.. the innocent person dies... oh yeah,, it was an accident! Yeah, right!!! How does that work again...?? Neither of these scenarios fit the basic definition of the word accident.

I usually would agree that it was an accident but if I am not mistaken this isnt his first time doing this, only his first time someones life was ruined because of it. This could have been prevented. I understand that he didnt mean for this to happen but he was warned already.

WHOA!!! I have not followed this tragedy and was reading this thread just now.

Who ever has not read that amazing letter should. It is a real eye opener on what REAL love, friendship and devotion is. What powerfully honest statements from a Mother in such a time of crisis.

Reading her words touched my mind and heart deeply and I know I am a better person just for reading them. I am going to save them knowing they will pop up from time to time and rereading them I can still know/believe there are indeed some people who know what REAL love, friendship, devotion is.

I could care less for this wresting stuff nor reality tv so my only interest was how the boy was doing, which I still have not yet gotten to. This letter stopped me in my tracks and I want to thank you for posting it.

Sorry.. but even though you 'may not mean for something to happen'.. engaging in KNOWLINGLY RECKLESS (as well as illegal!) BEHAVIOR.. does NOT make something an 'accident'.

Being around a LOT of boys his age when my Son was growing up!
I was Top Booster Mom all 4 years of my Son's High School MOST I knew were sure NOT as your "most".

My Son's Best Friend was killed because of a car wreak, my Son, 18 years of age, was NOT the driver, my Son stayed with his Friend until the end.

Dang, I am gonna go read John's Mother's letter again. It gave me hope that there truly wonderful people exist, now I read your post stating what "most" do. I so pray you are WRONG. I do KNOW that "most" I knew/ know are NOT like that.

Do you have any research on that? I am thinking/hoping maybe we just know "most" different kinds of boys.

If they were then they are no better than the police who didn't hold him accountable for his actions. What lesson is he supposed to learn in that environment other than he can do whatever he wants?

The next part of that is belief that you seem to have when you're young that nothing bad will happen to you. You're smarter than other people, a better driver than others, etc. I'm not saying that all kids are like that so please don't flame me. I have 3 boys and there are times with all of them that I could just try to shake some sense into them. Nick's actions from here on out will tell if this has been a wake up call for him or not.

Hopefully, if he is still allowed to have transportation at all, they buy him a Segway. He is unlikely to injure anyone seriously with that.

We will have to see if he faces any criminal charges.

I would be shocked. I think the only thing he gets high on is adrenaline from speeding his car.

6 kids died the last 2 years that my oldest was in high school. All six were killed while either racing or drinking and driving. Neither of the boys who drove the cars were seriously injuried yet each caused other teens to die.
So in once sense I DID my research....I lived it.

Greta discussed the wreck tonight. Greta reported that John is in a coma and will never recover. The cops are waiting on the toxicology reports findings.....then they'll decided whether to file charges against Nick or not.

Let's suppose for now that the toxicology reports come back negative. He was traveling at a high rate of speed, and the roads were wet. Can't forensic investigators approximately calculate the rate of speed he was going in order to cause the car to hydroplane and crash into a tree?

At the very least they could charge him with speeding and wreckless driving. I'm leaving out vehicular manslaughter (and also because he's not dead, but ultimately he killed this kid) charges for now because John supposedly didn't have his seatbelt on. I don't know what the law is in Florida concerning making passengers in your car buckle their seatbelt and if you are ultimately responsible for them in the event of a crash.

I think that they are able to determine the rate of speed. I agree with you 100% on what he could be, and should be, charged with!!!!

They need to slap this kid with something big. This is not the first time he's been caught speeding and it won't be the last I'm sure.

The friend in the car is going to be in this state for the rest of his life.

Our laws are just not tough enough when it comes to this kind of stuff.

So it sort of sounds as if the tox tests come back negative, Nick will get off scot free? That's wrong.

.home-page-only {display:none;}Nick Hogan made a very public appearance with fast cars at the big SEMA car show in Las Vegas yesterday, just one day before Florida authorities say his criminal case could be moving forward -- and a short time later, Polaroid, the sponsor of his drift car, dropped him from its roster.

While his pal John Graziano, the former Marine who was critically injured in the souped-up car Hogan crashed on August 26, remains in a coma in Florida, Hogan spent the day kibbitzing with fans in the NOPI Drift Racing Booth at the show.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the case against Hogan could go to the State Attorney as soon as today.

Meanwhile, Nick's dad, Hulk Hogan, spent Tuesday night partying at the Playboy Club in The Palms Hotel.
