What a beautiful letter.

That was a wonderful letter and I dont blame her for wanting to set the record straight. I imagine this is very difficult for all involved.

I noticed they were syaing the driver of the other vehicle was not identified yet...but from her letter she worte this " His best friend Danny, the driver in the other car is , devastated. ".......so is that who they were racing againist??? How sad for them all.

Were they drag racing? If so, I thought that was against the law and carried stiff penalties.

Fox had a segment about this stating that Hulk Hogan is denying Nick was racing.

How long does an investigation like this take?

Hi Taximom,
In one of the first reports, LE supposedly was at the accident scene within minutes. A nurse driving by saw the accident. The investigation should have been over within a day or 2.

Thanks, philamena! I didn't think it would take a very long time. Supposedly there were witnesses that saw two cars drag racing. I don't know what Hulk Hogan has been told or by whom.....

I'm still hoping for the best for John.

I didn't mean to sound like a know it all, lol. My nephew is a LE officer and I recently asked him how long it took for accident reports to be completed. He said that if there are witnesses and no compromising statements, the reports are generally finished within hours. ;)

Debbie is indeed a very spiritual person (and a good writer, too). I am glad that she re-focused everyone's attention to John's well-being instead of all the guessing games the media is playing. They're also spreading false rumors.

I think they were drag racing, and I did from day 1. I said I couldn't criticize because I myself was/am/continue to be involved in drag racing competitions, both legal and unauthorized. I have seen accidents like this firsthand. This is my opinion about the events, of which we will probably never know 100% for sure.

Unfortunately, the attention has been more on his *cough*dirtbag*cough* father and the possibility of arrest, accusations of misconduct, and possible lawsuits instead of him. I think his mother's letter was a reminder of what is really important.... John.

Hogan is a dirtbag or Graziano's father?

MrsG, would you mind telling me a little about "unauthorized" drag racing? I'm going just from what I've seen and heard in my lifetime, but maybe there's more to it.

Was this a public street that this accident happened on? I would think one would choose roads that didn't have a lot of traffic. Is it simply that the two cars line up and race to a certain point? The winner goes off into the sunset? Or is there money involved?

Any information will help me understand this type of thing. You don't have to say anything about this accident in particular. I'm interested in basic info. Thanks!

I am pretty sure she means Graziano's father as John's mother filed a restraining order against him.

I was just reporting what I heard!

Today I heard him say that he came upon the accident scene on the way to a restaurant. In the same interview he said that according to witnesses there was no racing. :hand: :silenced:

I'm no accident specialist, but you don't wrap your car around a tree going 35 mph. Or do you? Maybe the cars aren't made that well, as far as crashes go.

Hi Taximom! SUre, I'll explain.
Authorized competition in Drag Racing refers to a track setting, where a regular car over 10.0 seconds in the 1/4 mile is required to have a certain amount of safety precautions (battery bolt-down cable, drive shaft loop, driver helmet, working seat belts, operational windows and door handles)
Cars under 10.00 have other more strict specifications like a roll cage and a wheelie bar, sometimes a parachute if they're fast enough. It's a legally sanctioned race like you see on PINKS- it's a race track.

Unauthorized street competition is a drag race out on the street between two cars, kind of like on Grease. Sometimes, a team of people block off a back road with their cars and just drag-race for money all night.
USUALLY, two cars are just horsing around on the highway or the street though, and this is what I think he may have been doing because they were on a regular public road.

I am not kidding when I say that both kinds of drag racing kept myself and my husband out of trouble as young adults. :blushing: We NEVER drank, didn't go out to bars, and had a nice group of friends we met each and every weekend. Yes, it was dangerous, and some of the people involved in the racing were grimy, but it developed into what is now a hobby at the track and an occasional weekend car show.

In my day, I saw cars pull wheelies and flip over. I've seen people wrap themselves around poles, and I've seen people lose their cars over a race. It is a dangerous sport but I still love watching it...

Hogan Crash Victim's Family Brawl in Police Report

Posted Sep 5th 2007 1:45PM by TMZ Staff
.home-page-only {display:none;}St. Petersburg Police have released a report with details on the brawl among Lance Corporal John Graziano's family members on Thursday. The report says Christin Graziano -- John's sister -- said that "her family received bad news concerning her brother's condition and her other brother, Michael, took it really hard." After Michael was crying for hours and finally fell asleep on the floor, their father, Edward Graziano, entered and started screaming for Michael to fix his computer.
When he was asked to lower his voice, Edward left the room but returned 45 minutes later and allegedly grabbed Christin by both wrists, shaking her and yelling, "You are dead to me, you are dead to me!" Christin told cops that her father then threw a cold cup of coffee in brother Michael's face. Family members were then able to get Edward out of the room and lock the door. Police showed up at Bayfront Hospital moments after the incident, but could not find Edward. He was arrested at the hospital the next day for violating a domestic violence injunction that his wife, Debra, has against him.

John Graziano, an Iraq war vet, was the passenger in Nick Hogan's car crash on Aug. 26. Unconfirmed reports say that his condition has deteriorated. TMZ spoke to Michael Graziano, who offered no comment on his brother's status.

Unconfirmed reports say that his condition has deteriorated

Has anyone heard this yet other than in a celebrity gossip tabloid??

John my prayers are with you!

On Sept. 10, Nick is set to appear in a Florida court to face a previous speeding charge.

This story states John is still in critical condition.

Anyone know if Nick has been ticketed for drag racing and speeding for the recent crash?

The media needs to stop reporting on their personal business.
