That's it...Too bad...He deserved more than 8 months. Did he also get probation and community service?

they gave him five years of probation and 500 hours of community service. Driver's License also revoked for three years...

Here is a good story from people:

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20198921,00.html

Without the plea deal he was looking at a lot more time in jail so he's lucky to only have gotten 8 months, the attornies asked for no more than 1 year in jail so I guess he knew it was coming and that's why he had no reaction.

He sure did nan.
:mad:Burns me up that he wasn't given more jail time.

What does it mean where it says, "Judge withholds adjudication." It's a term I'm not familiar with.

It mean he withholds making a final Order or Decree.

Wow, only 8 months? I thought he'd get a couple years at least considering his driving history, the speed and alcohol involved. I guess if John had died it would be a whole different story. Sadly I think John has already lost his life.

Thank you :)

I hope so. My parents are at their wits end with him. Nobody is even trying to come up with bail. GOOD! That's the only way he will learn. He's 28 yrs old already, past time for him to grow up. The saddest part is, he has 3 children, but none live with him anymore.

He knew how mad I would be. He called his ex-wife and my hubby before calling me.

This bites. When my kids are that age I'm hoping they'll have their stupid mistakes, educations and travel bugs behind them getting married and making me a grandma. I feel terrible for your parents. Hopefully he gets himself sorted out.

He's still there for now. My mom is really struggling with what to do. Her husband would be pissed if she bailed him out. My dad (luckily) has no intentions of getting him out. He called me a bit ago begging me to call dad for him and get him out. My heart aches, but he HAS to learn. :(

Ugh, shouldn't Hulk be held responsible in some way too? I thought it was discovered he had bought/supplied the alcohol to the kids.

I think the 3 years the license is suspended is going to kill him more than the rest. He loved driving fast and at such a young age got into some type of racing (where they drag or swerve their cars around strangely IMO) and obviously couldn't control himself once off the track.

I do believe he is named in the civil suit.

TMZ has some video of Kristen, John's sister and barely audible statements from his GF and finally, an emotional speech by John's mom, Debbie Graziano. I barely recognize her at all.

There is no proof Johnny wasn't wearing his seatbelt. There are several documents that show he was.

Nick never had a heart-to-heart sit down with the Graziano family and never made a heartfelt apology. You remember all the drama that went down in the hospital at the beginning... this family was also very concerned about their son's survivability at the time. They feel he should have come to them immediately to express remorse. If he was young and stupid and didn't know how, his parents should have guided him.

I don't think anyone likes to see a young man go to jail. While I don't think that anything will bring Johnny back to us the way he used to be, I think it is up to Nick to "man up" and take responsibility for his actions. This is sad for all involved :(

Very heartfelt words, MrsG. It's a sad day with litigation possibilities prevent people from saying they are sorry. :( Can you tell us how John is doing?

((Hugs)) to John and his family and my prayers are with all of them.

Didn't he "man up" by not pleading innocent?

LOL, funny that the last few posts were about "manning up", check this out:

In Jail Phone Exchange, Hogan Tells Weepy Son To 'Man Up'

CLEARWATER - Shortly after he was put in a cell at Pinellas County Jail, Nick Bollea started complaining about the accommodations to his parents in telephone conversations, often breaking into tears, according to copies of the conversations made by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

"I have to get out of here," the 17-year-old tells his mother, Linda Bollea. "I can't deal with this for eight months."

The call was made in the early evening of May 9, on the same day Bollea pleaded no-contest to a charge of reckless driving involving serious injury and was sentenced to eight months in jail. On Aug. 26, he crashed a car into a tree in Clearwater, leaving his sole passenger, Iraq war veteran John Graziano, with brain damage.

Bollea was placed in a cell by himself, one roughly 8 1/2 feet wide by 16 1/2 feet long. Like Bollea, all juveniles who are sentenced to jail time as adults or are awaiting trial to face felony charges as adults are isolated and separated from adult inmates.

Bollea says his cell is half the size of his bathroom at home, and he repeatedly complains about there being no windows.

"They put me in a crazy ward," he says.

Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Bordner said initially Bollea was placed in the room at the medical building because there was no other available. He since has been moved but remains isolated from adults, Bordner said.

In his first conversation with his mother, he takes a few shots at his attorney, Kevin Hayslett, saying that if knew he was going to be in a windowless cell by himself, he would rather have gone to trial. His charge carried a potential sentence of up to five years.

Bollea said Hayslett gave him the impression that he would be in minimum security and able to play cards. His mother counters that if he were put in with the general population, maybe people would beat him up because he is a celebrity.

"Don't cry, Baby," says Linda Bollea, who sometimes swears and wonders aloud whether what they say to one another will be on the local cable television station "like … everything else around here."

Inmates repeatedly are warned that their calls may be recorded

You know, there should be a way Nick is put inside the body of his friend that REALLY has no life at all now.

Good Lord! That's ridiculous! She'd have a dilemma if this was at San Quentin where there's a dress code for visitors.
