Perhaps a local near Cork can keep an eye on this finding and add any updates? I came across it while reading a link to another thread and wanted to post it in case it's related to a known missing person.

A possible human skull was found and forensic examination will take place.

''A garden remains sealed off in Cork this afternoon as Gardai investigate the discovery of a human skull.

On Friday, Gardai were alerted to human remains - believed to be a skull - being found outside a property in west Cork. A forensic examination is being conducted today to establish the circumstances surrounding the identity of the deceased and how it came to be at the location.

CorkBeo reports that the skull was found in a SuperValu-branded shopping bag yesterday afternoon in the garden of a home in an area between Eyeries and Ardgroom on the Beara Peninsula.''

GRIM FIND ‘Shocking’ – Human skull found in shopping bag in garden of Cork house as gardai investigate

"The head, which has not yet been identified as male or female, was found in an old SuperValu shopping bag which appears to date back to the 1990s.

The shocked woman made the discovery while using a digger to clear the overgrown back garden of a house she is renting near the village of Eyeries in West Cork.

When she opened the plastic shopping bag she was shocked and stunned to see a human skull inside and immediately alerted the gardai.

Gardaí were called and the garden was immediately sealed off as a possible crime scene.

There will be a full technical examination and forensic experts are expected at the site today."

Skull found in West Cork garden linked to house with decades of transient guests

"Gardaí are set to review a list of people who lived at a house in a remote part of West Cork where a skull was found wrapped in a plastic shopping bag.

It is understood to have been found on land surrounding the back garden of the house at Faunkill, near the village of Eyeries.

The skull was discovered inside an old SuperValu shopping bag near an old motorhome in the middle of the wooded area where clearance work was being carried out."

GRIM FIND Human skull found in shopping bag in garden of Cork house believed to be of young person as gardai probe ‘shocking’ find

"The skull is said to be small, however, it is not small enough to be that of a baby or young child.

And there did not appear to be any sign of trauma on the surface, according to sources.

Records are being checked in an effort to see if any people were reported missing in the west Cork area around the estimated time period.

The bag is from a supermarket in nearby Castetownbere."

From Google Maps, Faunkill (Where the skull was found) marked with the red point while Castletownbere where the bag may have been purchased is located at the bottom.

Gardaí continue to investigate human skull found in plastic bag in West Cork

Irish Times Southern Correspondent Barry Roche told the Neil Prendeville Show it's possible the skull could be historic: "I was talking to one or two of the Gardai involved and and it doesn't look like there was any blunt force trauma involved, it doesnn't look like there was any attempt made to hide the bag, and as well it may be historic."
