Listening to her live feed and chat, apparently the woman evacuated Marco Island yesterday to ride it out in the Lesina Condo building in Naples (where this is being filmed from). She also said she'd been a FL resident for 40 yrs and implied (not surprisingly) that this was the craziest she'd ever seen a hurricane get.

watch this woman now. She is in Naples outside Marco Island on the mainland on the 11th floor or something:

So Scary! I couldn't stop watching until she had to go charge her battery-- it was down to 20%. I can't believe they still have power in that storm. Hopefully she can get her phone charged up again.

Just heard from No It's Not or NIN.

Here is what she sent me:

At some point today the eye will pass over NIN. She does not have the Internet now but she said she would keep me posted..

Thanks so much Tricia for keeping us posted. I knew she was right in the direct path. Glad to hear that she is safe!!

This is where it's useful to have a few ready-charged powerbanks to keep your phone going.

praying for her, and everyone else in the way of Irma. Thank you for the update, Tricia. I don't think I can keep holding my breath much longer. Danger, this is so unbelievable to me!

Palm Beach daughter sent me a final video of her back yard, says the wind has gotten significantly worse so no more video - they're lowering the last shutters over the patio. They still have power but she said surrounding neighborhoods are going dark and she expects to at some point.

She says her yard is full of debris and the roaring sound in the house is just crazy! Oh, and she said they're eating way too much food right now, probably from anxiety. Cue Dave Barry, lol.

I'll be leaving for the day in an hour but will try and keep an eye on things while I'm out. Thanks so much for all the links and updates - y'all are better than any news station!
:loveyou:

'Better than any news station" ,,,,, isn't that the truth! I don't even have the TV on today, just sitting her with y'all.

My best wishes for your daughter, MsMarple. Hope their snacks hold out!

Any word from Greater_Than in Miami?

oh dear .... :scared:

It's a new building. My husband HS family living there too that said all of the power and stuff is buried underground under the building. These new places were built to withstand this type of storm and she has hurricane glass windows. My FIL is in a high rise retirement building down the street and they had power too now. I didn't even realize it was their building until someone posted the address.

I have to mute the sounds but ok to watch. Still heartbreaking. Sounds can send me into a panic attack Mach 90.

Remembering, and thinking about you. Take care...
