OH MY :gasp: the interstates are full of evacuees!
I'm :thinking: that lots of folks heard the Governor in Texas say the reason they didn't call for evacuation was it was too many to evacuate, and he didn't want foks stuck on the interstates, without gas, when the storm hit.
So Floridians are doing it on their own. The major interstates in Florida are really affected now, and it's up to Valdosta Georgia. I'll check gasbuddy.com, but I heard yesterday that Tifton Gorgia gas stations were out of gas (they have time to replenish, but eeeeks)

It looks like a lot of people on the Atlantic coast are evacuating.
Friends in Marco Island boarded up their home and are planning on leaving tomorrow.
My D in Orlando is staying put.
My sister just bought a condo on Hutchinson Island a month or so ago and is in the process of remodeling, she doesn't have any hurricane shutters or glass, she is desperate in contacing building management to see if they will put up some plywood, at least on their sliding glass doors.
