GUILTY IA - Breasia Terrell, 10, found deceased, Davenport, 10 July 2020 *arrest*

By where they are searching and considering what probably happened, I personally think he tossed her in the river after killing her. It’s literally right there and usually takes a long time (months) for a body to be discovered/recovered here in the Mississippi. Many people jump the bridge every year to commit suicide and aren’t found for a long time. By that time, most suspect DNA would be gone to the elements in a homicide. I hope for her parents that they don’t have to wonder for long. Of course best case would be to find her alive and well! That would be such great news!

Grrrrr!!!
I'm trying to catch up on this case. If this young girl had been blonde and white, there would be so, so much more attention on it.

Please let me know if I've got this right...
Breasia's mother had a son with Dinkins, and that is Breasia's half-brother.
How does Grandma fit into this? Is she Breasia's mom's mom?

This his horrible! Where are the headlines? Where are the WSers? I'm so sorry I just stumbled across this case.
Breasia, I hope you're safe. You are a beautiful young woman, even at 10 years old.

You don't deserve this sweetie. I would love to give you a hug. We want you to be safe.

With all due respect, I just want to speak for her local area that she is missing from. All hands are on deck here. Chief Sikorski was half in tears during the presser at one point. The problem isn’t anything to do with her race, it’s the fact that there are no leads and the suspect isn’t cooperating. I have 2 cousins who are first responders on this that haven’t hardly slept since she was reported missing. I don’t know about the response on WS, but this does not apply to her home town. She has taken over all other topics of conversation here and finding her is our communities top priority. I’m sure her family appreciates all help they can get.

ETA: Nancy Grace is also talking about her case

Indeed she is a beautiful girl.
I just hope and pray she is somehow a SAFE little girl ....it's been since Friday she's been missing :( I am so worried for Breasia. And sad, because I'm afraid in my heart that this won't be ending well.

Thank you for your perspective.
I never, ever implied (or meant to imply) that LE and first responders weren't all over this. It is clear that they are, and I admire them for that! I appreciate their efforts. To be clear, I don't for one minute believe that these officials aren't all over this! Perhaps my comment wasn't well worded. My apologies to them. They have my heart-felt support.

I was more referring to media and WSers. I admit I was simply frustrated! So perhaps I've been too hard on people. I just get frustrated when I see a 10 year old missing and in other cases there have been 5 threads by this time. Breasia is still missing. Where is she?

No release of the 911 call yet? She was missing sometime around 3am but police are asking for POI's whereabouts/vehicle sightings until 12 noon that day....9 hours later?

No worries Snoopster! I totally understand the frustration, I get it. Like you said, I was just trying to give perspective from her local area. She and her family are on all of our minds and we are all hoping for the very best for them. There are local groups on FB anyone can join to see search efforts etc. just search her name and you can join. Lots of good info there that can’t be shared here from a private group. Appreciate you taking an interest in her case and trying to help, thank you to everyone doing so!

MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - As the search for Breasia Terrell enters day five, many around the QCA are doing their own independent, organized searches to find anything that may help bring Terrell. One duo is using their furry friends in assisting in the search.

“The animals are able to cover about a 100 times more ground than us, it’s only wise, and they want to help!” said David Melchert Jr.

Melchert and his friend, Morgan Enburg, are using their own dogs, Abel and Lexi, to aid in the search. Abel is a five-year-old vizsla and Lexi is a treeing walker hound that was adopted by the pair about a year ago after finding it. Not only do the dogs help in the search, but they also boost morale.

“The public that are also helping have been really grateful to have some sort of dog presence” said Enburg.

ETA: when IL cities are listed as they are local it’s because we border the river and are known as the Quad Cities. Davenport and Bettendorf IA, Rock Island and Moline IL. We all consider us one local area.

I don’t know if it’s because of our area and laws but I never hear of 911 calls released. I will try to research that.

Agreed. I’m from the area as well and it’s all over my Facebook, extending to small, rural Illinois groups.

So what do people think about the 'reference' to search Credit Island? Does this make sense?

Rumor: From what I have heard, it was the last ping from his cellphone and close to his claimed address which is a storage facility. He also liked to fish there along the river. He was arrested by Buffalo, IA police which is near there. I will try to find a link.

Just.thinking out loud.
Had she slept over at the POI's place before? If he is the culprit, how did he get her quietly out of the house not to wake anyone? Could he have possibly harmed her before even leaving the house?

I have been trying to find info on release of 911 calls for our area and can’t find anything definitive. I will try another route and post if I come up with anything.

If she knew him well, as he was her Brother’s Dad. He could have told her they were going fishing (cat fishing at night Is very common there.) In fact, someone caught a 65lb catfish in that area of the Miss just last week. she wouldn’t have likely caused an issue getting out of the apartment with him.

Weren't they reported to be cousins just yesterday in another article?
I initially said the male child was Breasia's brother upthread and you questioned that. I found a news story that said he was her cousin and corrected my earlier statement.

Now finally we get the truth from Breasia's Mother's own mouth.

No need to add to the earlier confusion, we have that fact nailed down now.

Our community is amazing! Lots of restaurants donating food and water for searchers. Many pizza places donating 20 pizza’s or more from each place plus several other restaurants donating sandwiches etc.

Respectfully, I think your post is unfair. The entire community has clearly rallied around this mother. The police had to post on their Facebook that they appreciate all the requests to help search, but they aren’t organizing public searches at this time.
This case doesn’t have the national attention because, unfortunately, it seems that the police know what happened to this beautiful young lady and they know who was involved. They are keeping volunteers away to preserve evidence. It’s very sad.
But it’s clear that this girl’s disappearance and her mother’s plea for help has affected the community a lot and I don’t think race, status, class, etc. has anything to do with that. JMO.

You are very correct, nothing outside factors into this other than a 10 yr old girl is missing and we want to help her and her family. THAT’S IT. We are all distraught over this, very true! That being said, I can understand outside frustration because people are not seeing things done that we are here. There was also an outburst before the press conference but that is all due to frustration and grief. I certainly understand that.
