That article must have updated. No mention of a reward now when you click on the link.

There was also mention of a reward being set up between the United Cajun Navy and the Sac County Sheriff's Office and the Sheriff made some comments when interviewed about "seeking legal guidance about whose name would go on the account, who would decide when to dispense money and how much."

I thought that was some what strange for him to say those things regarding who would have control over the account and not keep that information to himself. It's been several days now since that article and still no reward has been announced.

The post from JR seems to have edited/deleted the part about... "that they would be announcing the reward fund details on Monday" out of the post from 3 days ago as well. Something seems off to me with the mentions of the reward being edited out? Why?

I really hope it's because they have some leads and don't need to set up a reward.

But if I'm honest, I've kind of had a weird feeling about LE's relationship with Jake Rowley and the United Cajun Navy. I don't doubt his/their desire to help, but it almost feels like LE have been humoring them a little bit: "OK, why don't you go look over there whilst we do the important work."

Some of what I've seen reminds me a little bit of Peter Faulding, who has been involved in high-profile water searches in the UK. He inserts himself at the request of desperate families, but LE would often prefer he stays out of it.

“Make Them Squeal” clearly implies someone knows something - but how exactly do u MAKE THEM speak up?

I'm still seeing reference to it in JR's post from 2 days ago where he shared photos of the boys helping search. Odd. Maybe he missed that one if he's editing it out of older ones.

Yes, I am still seeing this post as well. I looked through the edit history on other posts and do not see any reward info edited out. Unless he has completely deleted other posts.

I think it's more of a morbid sort of joke, given that DS was transporting pigs.

I think the only thing it implies is that the myth of "somebody has to know something" is giving the family "hope" that the victim didn't self-harm or disappear on purpose.
I don't like the (not) clever pun and use of the expression "make them squeal" , which doesn't fit with the circumstances.
I don't think it implies anything except the usual assumption, when we all know that many things happen that are only known to one person, in this case a missing person.

Ah Ha! I was misstaken! One post with the reward fund on JR page and another similar post without reward fund on United Cajun Navy. I apologize for any confusion! It definitely had me confused!

I find this weird too. Why on earth let the boys help!??? What???

Some advantages to UCN to insert itself into this search (or any search) are fundraising, name recognition, locate the missing, and public awareness. Society is generous during the holidays, end of the year tax deductions are made, and emotions are high during a missing person investigation. I respect Jake and the UCN.

Can someone please link the info about the boot. I have been looking my booty off and can not find. Help. So this is going to probably not make sense, but I think something happened to him before those pigs were even loaded. Here me out...I know LE says they have video of David at the truck stop. But everything this evening and early morning says this is not David driving his own truck. He's running late. David abandoned his semi. His coat outside in a ditch. Was it normal for David to pull off that late at night to do something for 16 minutes. I would like to know. The very end of the press conference, LE says video shows David didn't make it to his drop off sight. Well, of course not..The truck didn't make it either. Maybe LE is playing on words. Did videoes really show David, or just the truck. I don't think David was driving his truck at all. Just my opinion. I have so many questions.
He didn’t even pull the truck “off” the road, though. That seems to me the weirdest piece. If he met foul play, you’d think the “perps” would have not wanted to draw attention by leaving the truck and potential crime scene right in the middle of the road! And it makes no sense short of medical catastrophe that David would himself leave it stopped in the roadway.
So strange. Prayers for his safe return. All MOO

That's a really good point. Generally, a perp wants to delay discovery of their crime; it was a miracle that the truck was ignored for as long as it was.

Oh, we don't know the backstory, and I'm sure they would never let them search in a previously unsearched area just in case, but maybe they were feeling a bit helpless and someone thought it would give them a chance to feel that they are contributing.

I hauled our horses and cats up in our living quarters horse trailer. I left our farm in TN at 6 p.m. to avoid both heat and traffic.

I needed diesel around 12:30 p.m., and got off the interstate at an exit in the middle of nowhere.
Do you mean 12.30AM....00.30h...as in, just after midnight?

Not sure if this has already been posted, but to give an idea of the area the truck was found, <modsnip: Self snipped to avoid confusion re incorrect location>

Unless he was driving and the altercation happened in the road, and the perps were hiding in the truck, and didn’t know how to drive a truck? Just throwing it out there, speculation and opinion.

Hadn’t thought of that, it’s a good point. I certainly couldn’t manage to pull a semi over from the road myself, I don’t think. Thanks for that.

I’ve thought that sense I came to understand the truck was just stopped in the driving lane of the highway! How did LE not get many calls about it, considering there were no safety cones, flares, etc., set out as if the truck couldn’t be moved for a mechanical reason.

The road the truck was found on doesn't have shoulders to pull off onto. It's a narrow paved road with grass and ditches at either side. IMO if you drove onto the grass there's a good chance the truck would become stuck in the mud and not drive out again. It might even topple over.

<modsnip: Quoted post was snipped>

Here is the intersection you want: Google Maps

If you pan to the left a little you will even see a truck with a cattle trailer coming towards the intersection. David's truck was found about .2 miles further north of this intersection.
