I believe turkey vultures have likely migrated out of the area by now.If there's a body out there, just look for where the turkey vultures are circling.
Can someone clear something up for me. When the friend nearly ran into David's truck that morning, did the friend report it to the police at the time? Also, was the truck facing north when the friend seen it? And was the truck found in the same position when LE eventually found it? I'm only asking because I keep seeing and hearing conflicting reports from LE and also David's wife.

I don't understand why she didn't want to watch the video. There could be something off about David in the video that LE wouldn't necessarily know was different about him.![]()
Missing Iowa truck driver fuels speculation -- but not answers
Last month, the 53-year-old Wall Lake truck driver and father of 10-year-old twin boys disappeared under mysterious circumstances.www.thegazette.com
I am not saying I think she had anything to do with this because at this point its unfortunately a straight up whodunit but I have found it a bit odd that she didnt want to watch the video and that shes said people were searching for him but she couldnt bring herself to. I know Id personally not be able to sleep at night without trying to find him and see for myself but thats just me. One reason you might not want to is if you thought or knew you would not find him alive I suppose and wanted to protect yourself from that? But yes, Id want to the video and know all of the facts and would bother LE as much as I had to if my husband just unpredictably vanished out of thin air.I don't understand why she didn't want to watch the video. There could be something off about David in the video that LE wouldn't necessarily know was different about him.
I thought she said in a Sioux City article, "I can't do it again" so I assumed she watched it once, but didn't want to see the video again. She said it's like seeing a ghost:I don't understand why she didn't want to watch the video. There could be something off about David in the video that LE wouldn't necessarily know was different about him.
But he could have left with another woman at any opportunity, for example after or before a job. This seems way too elaborate to start a new life but maybe I'm naive. Are there any such cases where something like that happened? Here is an angle not referred to so far but would account for David's absence, and no body.
Another woman?
Parks truck in close proximity to delivery, pigs will be found and unloaded. Leaves personal belongings in truck, walks down to her parked car, departs.
This would account nicely for the left money, (not needed), the phone and cable, (not needed) which also cuts the tracking from point of departure. Provides transportation, food clothing, shelter going forward, but not connected.
Might be an idea to scan statewide for any connection with any missing women. However; if single, would not necessarily be reported as missing. With planning, she has departed over Christmas to get married in a distant city.
Good thoughts, all possible, but I just don't see how he would have had the time to develop a relationship to the point where a woman would walk off with him leaving all his worldly goods and ability to make money. Seems he didn't even use the internet so pickings must be slim around home. A rich woman isn't going to look for a truck driver/pig hauler in Iowa. Great guy and good solid worker but just sayin... Don't think so. IMO of course. Here is an angle not referred to so far but would account for David's absence, and no body.

Fair rejoinder. And as referenced the "love" of trucks/trucking is tracer on him as to employment. His CDL would be required for most driving jobs. It is commonly accepted that most mature, experienced drivers would change career fields before obtaining a "new" CDL.Good thoughts, all possible, but I just don't see how he would have had the time to develop a relationship to the point where a woman would walk off with him leaving all his worldly goods and ability to make money. Im believing he loved his family especially his kids and then there is his gorgeous trucks. What guy is going to give those up for a woman? JMO
This is 100% what I believe and have thought all along, though I'll add the possibility of a mental break from exhaustion (I've long been referencing a 'medical' issue because sometimes MH theories are snipped). Sadly I suspect he will be found within a 5 mile radius of the truck with no foul play suspected and no further word.I thought for a long time, surely it was foul play of some sort. But I'm not so sure anymore. I feel like DS' wife revealed quite a bit about him in the last few interviews. A random act of violence, whether someone got upset, or he saw something he shouldn't have, would mean a sort of spontaneous crime/reaction. Which to me, would be sloppy and not thought out, leaving evidence behind. And DS seemed to be a pretty stand up guy from everything we are hearing and reading about. What would the motive be if he was targeted? But, this is what DS' wife has shared about him:
-he works weeks at a time without a day off
-he will sometimes work all day and then through the night
-he missed his Thanksgiving because he was working (other holidays/events???)
-he has a $2000/mo truck payment, and another truck in the shop
-he's proud to do 5 loads per day
-he said to her "I can't take this", but then dismissed it
I have no doubt he loves his family. I have no doubt he loves his job. In my opinion only, it seems like it could have been too much. Did he reach his breaking point at that stop sign that night? When he stopped his semi and opened the door, could his jacket have fallen out and the wind blew it across the road?? He could have made it a couple miles or more. He had several hours of darkness to walk away somewhere. He knows the area. 100,000 acres is alot of ground. Not just open fields, but grassy areas, wooded areas, waterways, old buildings/machinery/junk on people's property. This seems to make the most sense to me. And it's only my theory. I do hope his family gets answers soon. I can't even imagine what they are going through.
I really wish they’d find him soon for many obvious reasons, of course (seems silly to even type that), but the more time passes the harder it will be to determine what happened if he is no longer with us, and that will just be awful if they can’t tell if it was foul play with no obvious signs or self harm. I have followed a case of a missing teacher near me, Meghan Marohn. She disappeared near acres of woods where her car was found parked a bit strangely in the parking area, and her body was finally located 6 months later despite countless searches including searches miles away, just outside of the wooded area closer to homes. They have no official COD and I guess the case is still open, but they keep saying no foul play suspected despite the fact she had a stalker whom she was afraid of. And PD has been tight lipped about it the entire time, barely communicating with her family, not telling the public whether her possessions were found with her, or anything. Between wildlife and the summer weather they probably didn’t have much to work with, but at least hearing whether her possessions were nearby would at least solve some of her mysteries in her case. But no… crickets and sad for her family. This is 100% what I believe and have thought all along, though I'll add the possibility of a mental break from exhaustion (I've long been referencing a 'medical' issue because sometimes MH theories are snipped). This is a strange one...I don't see David in the NAMUS database -- why would that be? Seems odd.
