Just one more thing that doesn't make a whole lot of sense in this case.

Sure would be nice if LE would give an update or at least clear up some of the confusion.

What's the sense of asking for the public's help if no specifics are given such as times and places so individuals who may have seen something memories might be refreshed?.

The only thing I have heard out of LE is in an article from today where an agent with the DCI confirmed David is still missing.

(Maybe LE has this in the bag and doesn't need to create more work for themselves fielding tips. I can only hope so.)

JMO

Schultz remained missing Thursday, Darrell Simmons, a spokesperson for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations confirmed to USA TODAY. The Lake View Police Department is also involved in the search.
Jake (UCN), hasn't posted in three days. His last was on 12/4 here Jake Rowley To be expected I suppose, as he said they have searched over 100k acres and no sign of David. They will do targeted searches in the future, if asked by LE.

Jake stated a few times, LE was giving UCN information, which I don't doubt. But LE has never mentioned them publicly. I guess we shouldn't consider that odd either, since they remain virtually silent on any case details?

Very odd; the FB page has been sanitized... hhmm.
Post with comments about his boss arriving in the morning ~
Post that included comment about the 0330-1530 timeline ~
Other posts as well; flyers added to the days that above details were provided ~
Who would have suggested that.....

I made that mistake as well. She has two pages, you might be looking at the older page? Everything is still there.

No, I have the same one as yesterday with her sons pics. The other one is closed.

Yes, I did try to be generous because I’ve been trying to learn a little about pig hauling, (who woulda thunk?), and it seems the drivers often have ”appointments” as to what time to pick up their haul and what time to drop off. I guess the docks can be pretty busy sometimes and the truckers wait in line. I imagine if you have a pick up time you can plan your arrival, but what if you have a longer layover before you can drop off? There’s not too many places you can hang out with a semi full of piggies, so maybe the Sparky’s stop was longer than we surmise?
I like your way of thinking, BUT: are rural Iowa pig farms chockablock crowded with that many lorries and piggy pick-up and drop-offs during the night?

Yes, that has concerned me too, and it sounded like he got the call last minute so he had to rush to obey. Like the little piglets couldn’t wait til morning to be delivered, like they’d gain an ounce overnight and not qualify for some classification status? Surely not.

Here’s the thing- you want to get those pigs to their new location as quickly and safely as possible. The longer they are on the trailer, the more chance of something going wrong.

Both heat and cold can be issues with transport. Stress can cause issues. The quicker the pigs arrive and get settled, the less loses all the way around.

If it is more efficient to load in the wee hours of the morning, so be it. Farners do not farm from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday- we pretty much farm 24/7. In addition to it being our careers, it is a lifestyle.

But you’d also want your drivers to not be sleep deprived, right? Calling for transport for 9pm means he is probably going to be ready for bed and now has to work through the night for no real emergency. The piglets surely could wait 8 hours til morning, in the comfort of their barn. This wasn’t a massive farm like a Perdue type of place who must work 24/7.

Deliveries are scheduled well in advance as pig houses have to be cleaned and disinfected in between groups. The companies providing contracts to the producers (farmers) are involved in scheduling deliveries, and contract the haulers. I don’t know any livestock haulers who work 9 am to 5 pm, just like farmers. Just like other truck drivers who work whatever time the work is available. Now, government regulations regarding number of hours worked can keep drivers off the road.

David's wife, Sarah, has said she only found out about the Eagle Grove to Sac City job as David was rushing out the door. But that doesn't necessarily mean David had only just found out about it, nor that it was an unexpected job.

I think Sarah has said she often didn't know exactly where David was going or when.

Good to know. Just going by what I read that he was irritated that he got a late night call which to me means he wasn’t informed earlier that day to put it on his schedule. His wife said he was rushing to get washed up and get out the door. He called dispatch about his feelings.

Can you please link where it was said David was irritated by the last-minute call? I haven't seen that.

A day or two ago, I requested video archives from the 2 camera sites along 20 that he may have passed from their website. It says that they only keep footage for 7 days, however if someone had previously requested it then it may be available. This is the reply I got back:

The video you’ve requested is too old for our cameras, our system holds video for seven days. We do not have any saved video from the area you are looking on that day. I apologize for the inconvenience.

This kind of tells me that nobody requested those videos, including LE, and they're lost now. :( Unless they have a memo to specifically not release them if they're under investigation?
Could LE have gotten copies of the video?

Could he have been called in last minute due to a delay or cancellation from another hauler? If money was tight, he might have felt obligated to say yes.
