I personally wouldn't care one hoot if my pic and name were splashed all over the media,,,,,,,and if I were questioned by the FBI for hours.

It's all a necessary part of the process of weeding through the clues in the pursuit of keeping us all safe from the degenerates of society.

Seems to be a losing battle. I choose to cut LE some slack.

Maybe not, but I think most guys would be upset about going through something like this if they're innocent. It can affect jobs and personal lives. Wives and girlfriends might be shunned by friends, and your kids could be bullied at school because of it. No matter if LE turned you loose a few hours later and made a public announcement regarding your innocence, some people would still look at you with suspicion.
You might be speaking the truth, I mean no disrespect at all, but it's a whole lot easier to say it than it is to go through it.

They said the same thing about SK, too. She is alive until she was found. In this case mainly because until they have proof the person or people is dead, they stick with that. I think, too with the pressure put on them after the lake was drained and everyone was wondering about the "waste" of time (I think lake draining was needed) they maybe hesitant to even suggest the not alive possibility...

Lucy- Any chance you can point me to the statement about SK you are referring to? I would very grateful. I had never heard a FEDERAL LE agency make such a statement as "we believe he/he/they are alive" a week into an abduction case. My opinion is based on my own knowledge which is admittedly limited. I need to learn more. I thank you in advance if you can help me with that. :seeya:

I see lots of discussion in articles that LE released new photos of the girls taken that afternoon at the casey's. anyone able to throw to up a link. All the articles talk about the new photos but I haven't found one that actually shows them :banghead:

They released the pics of the guy and the van at Casey's, then updated the article with bigger and more zoomed in images of the guy and the van. Then the guy went to police and was cleared, and they started taking the pics back off the media sites.

I saw nothing that said "of the girls", and at least one article said this camera footage of the guy and van was taken 2 hours after they were last seen and 2 hours before the bikes were found (or something similar - I realize the timing doesn't work out but you get the gist of it) so if htey'd seen the girls in this video as well I am SURE we'd know about it.

Not saying I'm right and you're wrong, just thinking it's likely a wording issue regarding "new pics" because I've been keeping up with this development and haven't seen or heard anything of them being of the girls, that's all.

I need to have my first cup of coffee. My search for news on the girls brought up some fumy headlines and then the articles all talked about the van man so I think I need coffee before trying to think or post any further, lol.

The CR dad clearly saw the van that tried to abduct his son.

last night they put out a bulletin with a description of the van from the CR incident being a beat up white chevy astro van with MN plates w 3 creepy looking characters

later in the evening they put the photo on the TV of a nice white clean chevy astro van w/ IA plates and a clean cut young guy

how could they be one and the same?

They say it was not because of the van..maybe they were confusing his name with a similar name.

I'ts a longshot, but maybe LE has video of hte girls riding by that Casey's around the time the guy in the astro van was there, and they wanted to ask him if he saw anything unusual, or saw them?

Referring back to the park. Bikes were found at a maintenance gate. Where I live, they hire summer students to maintain parks once school is out.

Otto: Could you please post pic of Maiden Road again at Meyers Lake. Did you also point out that there was a small building at the end of Maiden Road, no doubt for maintenance equipment.

I just feel that LE should look at this area again, specifically, take the maintenance equipment/hand tools and test for the girl's dna, along with fingerprints. :twocents:

I think it was just a coincident that MK's dad had a white van the same model as the one with the attempted abduction of the 5 yr old....and bad timing for the release of the pics. LE only wanted to talk to him to see if he had seen anything of the girls since the girls were riding their bikes not too far from there and the possibilty that is the way they might have travelled to the lake.

LE or the media should have stated that they just wanted to talk to the person in the video to see if they had seen anything. The poor guy, the way it was reported sounded like LE already knew MK had info to break the case. IMO

I think we have a white astro van used in an alleged attempted abduction in the next town. Then we have a member here who reported seeing a suspicious person near meyers lake (also in a white van) - then we have BB running around in a white van (allegedly)

My thought is, LE was getting alot of tips concerning white vans. Then you have them looking at surveillance video of nearby businesses. They see in some of that video - yep, you guessed it, a white Astro van.

MOO Convergence of many tips about several vans + video of a white van = LE looking for the van and owner but not sure how to articulate why.
