From your photo from the day of your visit it seemed like there were more cars in the lot than your comment above states. Am I recalling the photo incorrectly?

As we were leaving when I took the pic, a car pulled up with a woman inside.

Just thinking it was another sleepy day in a town with not much to do for excitement. With the lake being not that far away, what better place to be? Might see some school friends. Might meet new people. Or, they could be meeting someone who told them to be at the lake at so-and-so time.

There may be witnesses who wish to remain anonymous, but who are cooperating with LE. JMO

There is a whole lot we don't know.

Including whatever it was that caused LE to accuse Dan and Misty of being involved and treat them like no other grieving parents have ever been treated, in my memory.

Cook also confirmed Misty Morrissey, her daughter and Cook-Morrissey’s mother, will have to take another polygraph test after some results on the first one proved inconclusive. The polygraph has yet to be scheduled, Cook said.
“But it is going to be, nobody is going to scream at her before or after like they have before,” Cook said. “She has cooperated fully all along, except for this other polygraph, with what they did to her with the screamin’ for three hours.”

What did you base the height/weight estimate on?

Tia.

The profile was built using a "biased, leaning" scale. Might be time for a calibration. ;)

LE's hands became tied as soon as the parents lawyered up. They have no other leads except the paddleboat person. I think the press would have reported paddleboat person coming forward, or LE would have given an update on the case. TG came forward the next day to say he had seen 2 bikes.

I think most parents are treated that way in the first days of an investigation. The parents are the first suspects when a child goes missing. Sad but true.

Where is the boy that was seen fishing with a man? Was that rumor? IDK

I thought there was a boy there fishing, but alone, not with anyone. He's the one that said he didn't see the girls and that he was there quite awhile that day.

Was there also a boy with a man? I missed that.

I remember that too. There was some question about why someone would be out watering when it had rained followed by a local's reminder that there's been a pretty bad drought so it made sense to water even though it had rained. I can't find it in MSM so maybe it was just discussion on here. I'll keep looking.

Thank you, nikb, I think it was way, way back. I hope if it rained that morning, the ground around the lake, particularly Maiden Lane, held prints, particularly tire prints, from any vehicle parked there after the rain. If some locals in town were out watering in their yards, hopefully at least one person in the homes on the lake were out in their yard too, and could see and/or hear anything going on. I'm wondering what time the sun came out. I hope LE examining the video of the 2 bike riders were looking for shadows cast by them, at noon the shadows should have been very short or right under them. If the sun was shining when the bike riders were recorded.

IIRC -- All I ever heard about was the boy fishing along, who said he'd been there a 'long time' and didn't see the girls.

I am still confused by the lake being described as packed with tons of people and kids. The descriptions and locals seem to describe it as being much less packed than that?

I'm choosing to take the word of someone who used that trail 2-3 times a week over the word of anyone who lives far from the area.

When I watch the video surveillance (if it is E and L), they are riding pretty fast and it made me think that someone may have challenged them as a ploy to go to the lake, i.e. if you can go around Meyers Lake in "x" number of minutes and get back here, I'll give you each $ ... just an example. All the while, the partner in crime was waiting at the lake.

Just another thought about why they went there, if they did, when they knew Grandma told them not to stray.

IMO

I think the FBI are smart enough to use shadow fall when confirming times, which is how they confirmed the sighting at 12.15.

The girls were the ONLY ones caught on bikes by that cctv, that day.

Im pretty sure one of Lyrics family member said they recognized the bikes that they had actually given Lyric the bike.

It was Aunt T. who said she recognized it IIRC. Having a hard time finding the article, though. I'm GLAD the girls are in the news so much but it does make it harder to find specific things I remember seeing! I'm still trying to find the article about the boy fishing too. Maybe someone beat me to it. :)

I am wondering about the boy fishing. Was he in a boat or fishing from shore? I am thinking of a 25 acre plot of land, it would be hard to monitor the goings on, a lake that size would be no easier, figures that distance would be small. Easier to see what is happening if in a boat floating around the lake. Sounds do travel over water, especially if there were shouts or screams. The boy was busy fishing, but it would be interesting to know what he saw and heard while he was at the lake that day.

The traffic sounds from I-380 would tend to muffle sound because that sound would travel just as well over the water as any other.

Also, I believe that it was said at some point that the boy said he'd been there "a long time." However, to a kid, a half hour can seem like a long time. Rather than getting a description like that, I hope LE got the actual data: how long was a long time?

A couple of things -

The bikes were not damaged.

Where exactly did he "bump" them? Vehicles are not allowed on the bike path?

tia.

Thanks for the answer on bike damage. As for the rest, I was just providing a possible scenario in which a person/s could be physically taken, in response to your post. Writing that was the first time I had the thought. I am not personally subscribed to that theory at the moment.

Most of our 'clues' came from the family. There are only a few facts released by LE which are; 1. L&E seen one bike @12:15 2. Bikes found at Myers Lake @3:58. 4. Lake is thoroughly searched. 5. LE asked for paddleboat owner to contact them 6. LE was trying to locate owner of white van.

Anything else by LE?

MCM and DC "lawyered up" for all of two days.

I cannot believe that LE didn't have plenty of other stuff to do while the parents got over whatever it was that led them to decide to stop talking.

Heck, it wasn't even two days before they were talking to the media again.

Before that and after that, they were cooperating.

Can you find a link, please? I never heard a report on their condition. Thanks.

Is there a reason why the FBI in Quantico can't release a profile of a likely suspect or what the public should look out for or try to remember?

Maybe I have watched too many episodes of Criminal Minds.
