Well IF this is true than maybe Mr.C wife is correct in seeing the girls around 3?

Edited: found the link.

That article is talking about the man in the photo at the gas station. He was seen about 2 pm which is appros two hours after the video of girls.

Breault said the man in the photo went into the Casey's store at 1038 River Forest Road in Evansdale at about 2 p.m. July 13. That's about two hours after the girls were seen leaving a relative's house, and about two hours before firefighters found their bicycles near a bike trial on the southeast edge of Meyers Lake.

Saw a white astro van yesterday on my way to town, I sped up to it and got a license number because to me it looked suspicious. The driver noticed me and followed me to Walmart where he sat and watched as I went inside. I came out and he was still there. He didn't follow me after that, but wow, wierd.

You have repeatedly put yourself in danger out there. Not a good plan. Be very careful.

Every time I get too deep into sleuthing a case, I tend to start to notice a larger than normal amount of vans with dark windows and no labels and single male drivers with sunglasses on in the same areas as me, sitting, parked, etc., sometimes apparently following or turning up where I am.

Then a friend told me that they've had FBI show up at their door before to ask them what their connection to a case was, because they'd sleuthed the heck out of it and LE had noticed them being all around the periphery of the case.

So I assume that when I get deep into a case like this, I will have people following me, watching me a bit, checking to see if I have any real connection to the case (therefore, presume any weird vehicles described above are just undercover cops or something).

My attitude to that end is the same as a sibling of mine's, so I'll just quote them - "I don't care if big brother is watching me, I have nothing to hide, and their job is to protect people so if anything happens to me, at least I know they'll be right there to help if they ARE watching!"

Not saying this anecdote has anything to do with anything being discussed here, just something that occurred to me while reading.

I believe there are a couple of big clues at who they are looking at in the article cited above as to "why" they questioned the guy with the white van.

1) He may have seen or have info about the disappearance

2) The Linn County reference

3) That particular Casey's on that day

It is not about him.

I total feel the same way. Perp is probably from that area. 1 mile radius i bet. JMO

If perp is living in the vicinity of Maiden Lane, just wondering if the perp has any connection to Lafayette area businesses and seeing the girls riding their bikes in parking areas and getting to know their routine and getting to know them, pretending to know their parents.

IMO

Are there regular maintenance people who mow the park and along the trail?

If these were my kids i would be knocking on those door in that neighborhood and questioning everyone who gets near that area over and over until I got somekind of information. People see things without realizing it. They need to be made to search their deepest memories. I think this perp was a regular in that area.

I don't remember which case I was reading about at the time, but I remember one very experienced detective telling his officers "Ask what they saw that was normal. Not just unusual or abnormal." The point being the same as you made.

Creepy! I wonder though if he's been harassed by the police a few times already? Still...very odd behavior. Did you call it in?

I think it's kinda strange how HC has the quote, "get over it", on her FB profile.

By getting a license plate number?

Absolutely. The guy followed you. Think he didnt take down your license number? You have no idea what potential danger you are flirting with with what is at stake in this case.

And the run in with the guy at the lake, then posting name and address. Dangerous.

There is a big difference between web sluething public media information and posting theories, as this site allows, and visiting potential crime scenes and following people and posting it here.

Look at all the people on this site that joined in July. You have no idea who they are and what their motives might be.

If I called in every creep I see, they would lock me up for harrassing creeps.

Corner of Arbutus and Fran the owner shares a name with business across from Collins.

I am having a hard accepting that the perp would still be visible if a white van was used. I would be expecting him to drive something else and put the van in a garage or disable it so it looked like it couldn't have been used. Or trade it or sell it immediately.

What about the other car at the pump? Maybe they paid with credit and LE already talked with them, but is van guy the only guy that might have paid with cash and they didn't know who he was? No other mystery customers that day?

What exactly is going on in that community to find these little girls? Are people standing on corners with signs reminding people what has happened? Or has everyone just gone back to their daily routine?

  • #677
Concerning strange vans following posters- could be undercover LE,or media looking for a story.
Having people focus on white vans might not be such a bad thing, especially if the perp drives something else. They will keep on regular route and not avoid "check points" thinking he/she/they are safe from scrutiny. In other words, wave that shiny white scarf to distract as the rabbit hops into the hat.

Once again my post ended up at the end of the page 26 post 650 if anyone cares to read it. It is a different theory about the bikes and how TG could have seen bikes and not the girls.

Welcome Jewels53!
Have wondered myself, if the bikes were driven by a couple of teenage perps who raced and dumped the bikes at the lake after depositing the girls somewhere, like under or in the trailors we see in the cctv video?
For now, I'll take it that the girls rode the bikes themselves and something strange happened...

My kids have been with grandparents since Sunday and everything around the house and routines seem so wierd. Can't wait to pick them up on Saturday. I can't imagine how the family could go back to regular daily routine.

At this point that is what I'm thinking too. I still haven't been able to push aside the thought that there was some type of accident but know that LE is saying abduction. Anything that happened is bad, but some things just seem worse........
