The pesky cctv timestamp(s), and the direction of travel, are the unexpected key that screws with a couple different timelines. MOO

What if we exclude the lawn watering tip and assume the girls entered the park on the west end of the trail?

That sure was Misty! You are right, it is odd. She could have sat on the end of the bench furthest from the camera with less interuption, <Mod Snip>.

All the better to hear what is being said ,imo.

I think she was just wanting to hear what questions the press was asking Dan's mother...and her responses. IMO

Sorry i don't know how to forward a quote from another thread. But i never saw this video the was this poster did with MCM in background just thought id repost it.

From poster: IAM

I haven't heard anyone here comment on Misti's sudden appearance in the later part of the interview with Dan's mother. She appears around 5:19 in a mini-dress. She cuts right through the middle of camera view and oddly sits with her back to the camera, then briefly plays with the kitten and appears to play or text on a cellphone or ipod. I find this behaviour extremly odd and just wanted others views on this. I am relatively new here (was on here some months ago and then forgot my user info so have just been reading). It is hard to sit silent on this case. Here is the link to the interview I am referring to.

I do think that is Misti, If not, I am sorry. It looks like her.

this interview bothers me to no end!

WHY is no one crying or upset that 2 little girls are missing

I have not seen one person weep they all talk tooo much and bla bla blA they are happy
Is it just me?

One possibility (that I've posted before) is that the bicycles were pointed west when they were found. If so, then that would seem not quite right after the video footage was seen.

I think there's a possibility that Chief Deputy Abben made a slip but none of the reporters present caught it or pressed him on the point.

Not necessarily. The girls could have been traveling east and turned around after seeing something or being called over by someone near the gate. imo I took Abben's comment about the girls going away from the lake being he didn't believe the girls went to the lake, but I could be wrong. I should go back and review previous posts from the beginning as well as his pressers since the thread seems to lagging.

Maybe the girls were taken because they saw something or could identify someone?

Thank you! Yes, that's Misty. She doesn't seem to be doing anything unusual. The interview with Lyric's grandmother is interesting. She looks awfully young to have a 16 year old grandson ... good genes, I guess. She describes Lyric as a "bull in a china shop", someone that will make a random decision to do something just to see where she ends up. Did Lyric decide to go through the double gate just to see where she ended up?

I don't see anything bothersome about Misty's behavior in that interview. If my child were missing I'd eavesdrop on every interview, I'd interrogate my family, I'd be in everyone's face. You just never know what someone might say in an interview that could be a tiny shred of information that makes a huge difference.

If Abben said that the girls were riding away from the Lake, that suggests that he made an assumption about how the girls got to the lake (if indeed they rode to the lake). Did he assume that they would take the Evansdale Nature Trail off Lafayette? That's what I initially assumed. That certainly fits with "the wrong way".

What if the girls were not going the wrong way, but were going a different way that he assumed ... and a different way than I assumed. Somehow, after including the "blind curve" and the "lawn watering", I assumed that the girls entered the trail from the East side. What if that is all wrong? Maybe they rode down River Forest Road, cut East for a block or two and entered the lake trail from the West side. Maybe they intended to ride their bikes towards the "creepy area", check out the double gated area and turn around (like we've heard from others) when they were ready to go home?

Just in case this is about Human T, maybe they should keep an eye out for the girls in one of the states - MT,WY,SD,AR (as outlined on map in link) that have lax laws in that regard.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19169943
"The scale of human trafficking in the US is hard to gauge, but the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline, operated by Polaris Project since December 2007, has received more than 57,000 calls from every state in the union.

Incidences of sex and labour trafficking have been reported in all 50 states in the US, and the District of Columbia, in the last two years.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, more than 100,000 minors are estimated to be in the commercial sex trade in the United States."

What evidence could they have that tells them the girls are alive?

Say a clerk in a convenience store 50 miles away believes the girls and perp(s) had come in to buy something and it's a week or more after their disappearce. LE reviews the video and agrees it's the girls but doesn't know who perp is or their vehicle isn't viewable on video. Since most children are harmed within the first 24-72 hours...perp is keeping them alive for some reason. Or someone did recognize the perp and after making a connection to a motive knew it wasn't for sexual intentions. jmo

Reminds me of the show BREAKING BAD!
Dads a meth dealer and mom sends her daughter away because they are threatened .

Only thing is, I can understand taking Lyric and removing her from this picture
but why Elizabeth?

Taking a possible witness.
If taken for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 or trafficking...more financial gain.
Easier to keep them both under control if they have each other and/or further control by intimidation/threat of hurting the other.

imo

Honestly,
If someone took them because of something dad or mom was into i dont think after all this time they are still alive!

Same with a sex offender!

I dont see a good outcome here.
How can they let the girls go they kidnapped them!

Human trafficking stats seem very misleading when it comes to two missing children, as they include the more common problem of adult immigrants that are victimized and used as slaves or sex trade workers. Children in the US sex trade stats are also misleading as they include runaways and drug addicts under the age of 18.

Human trafficking often seems to be the fallback explanation ... we saw it with the 18 year old from Alabama that disappeared in Aruba. The human trafficking theory was tossed around for years, but was pretty much put to rest when the prime suspect was convicted of the second murder of a young woman.

Someone took them because they could!

The number one friend of a sex offender is opportunity and next is availability!

Some kids are very easy targets!

I agree Otto!

What if the girls were never at the lake at all, but were abducted in a vehicle after the cctv footage was taken; the abductor took the bikes to the lake at some point, and then later a tipster showed up and said he had seen the bikes hours before they were found, and then days later the cctv footage shows up, making the tipster's timeframe virtually impossible. Especially, since Abben said it was "important to note" that the girls were heading away from the lake. MOO

Maybe. That's not how I've heard the term "bull in a china shop" used, though. I've only heard it used to mean someone who moves in an awkward, rushed manner and has a tendency to break things because of it. :moo:

:what: Now, that's interesting. Why do we always have them coming in from the Eastern side? Maybe that has something to do with LE thinking the man at Casey's on River Forest Rd. might have some information.

Might there have been a ransom type note found in Elizabeth's purse? Just speculation of course. LE would certainly keep this quiet if it would keep the girls safe.
