Its only 8.9 miles from that pool to meyers lake, could that be where she meet the perp?

I bet there were cameras at the pool.

My google map thingy went nuts..lol..when it goes sideways quickly. Anyway, when I went back to the map I was looking at it had stopped on Mann Wilderness Area, which is about 30-40 miles directly West off of Route 20, from Meyers Lake. I'm sure it is totally unimportant, however, it sort of jumped out at me as a possible place a perp could have taken the girls..or something like that. Just going to file this one in the back of my mind...

I'm not convinced that this really helps, as 1.5 miles via the roads, or the trail, would be different than a 1.5 mile radius around the camera location.

Thanks for this Otto. I had a similar image but didn't upload because I thought the same thing. I was going to upload last night but it didn't happen and I haven't had time today. I feel off the hook for the image since we have yours.

Straight line measuring is definitely different than distance on roads and paths.

Perhaps the distance from the camera location to the trail needs to be calculated by driving it with a tacometer...or walking it with a pedometer (available as a free app. btw).

Yes but which route(s)

Yes but which route(s)

Beats me...something that includes Lake Avenue for one I guess. One that has them coming from the East side and one that has them coming from the West. I dunno.

One thing to definitely keep in mind about the bike time...I noticed how much the cyclist had to look, slow down, stop, and go due to the cross streets everywhere in that video that was posted. It is not a straight shot timewise. MOO

Question?

What made the LE think the Bikes MIGHT be stage?

Or don't we know?

have they ever said they thought they were staged? I don't recall that. I think that word comes from speculation.

Thank you NurseBeeme.... I have been searching for hours for a MSN quote that said anything about it and could not find one, but I am not the best searcher...and thought I missed something...:blushing:

Can ANYone come downstairs and take over the scanner for a while to give us a break? Also, still needing that rewind! Thanks in advance - BTW it is un-manned presently

IIRC, Abben said that they don't KNOW whether the girls ever got to the lake.
I do not have a link, but that is what I remember. MOO JMO

ETA: That tells me if the girls never made it to the lake, either the bikes were stolen and whoever took them left them at the lake or the bikes were staged.

at this point it is all semantics imhoo. (didn't the dogs find their scent at the lake?)

I truly hope they can solve this quickly and bring these girls home.

The dogs did find their scent on the bikes, but whether they actually tracked them into the woods is not so sure. Their scent would be on the bikes even if they never were at the lake. MOO JMO :moo:

ETA: That info about finding the girls scent on their bikes came from TB. I assumed that the dogs hit on the bikes because they detected the girls' scents on them. Shouldn't assume, I know.

Who knows, maybe more clues might be found after the cleanup this saturday.

Jeff Dawson, park board president, said the lake --- which also serves as a storm water retention pond --- is a recreational asset for Evansdale and the Cedar Valley. Fishing, boating, picnicking and walking or bike riding around the lake are popular activities.

"It just doesn't look like what we want to represent the city. We want it to look like nine million bucks," Dawson said.

Since the girls' disappearance, the lake has been a focal point of the investigation and hope. Multiple prayer vigils for their safe return have been held near the body of water, and family and friends often spend time there.

Mayor Chad Deutsch said it's a good opportunity to clean up the lake before the trash is covered up again by water. He's sure the girls will be on everyone's minds as they work.

FBI spokeswoman Sandy Breault said the reaction from the dogs Monday night indicated a "strong possibility" the girls had been at the lake, less than a mile from their grandmother's house where they were last reported seen Friday. However, Breault said because there were no confirmed sightings at the lake, authorities couldn't be certain.

RBBM...

That is an odd way of saying it.... :waitasec:

I believe that info did not come from LE but from Aunt Tammy. I don't think the police have ever stated what the dogs did or did not hit on. I am sure someone will correct me on this if I am wrong.

The FBI brought two dogs to the area to search Monday night, and the dogs were used again on Tuesday, FBI spokeswoman Sandy Breault said.

The dogs used scent pad samples taken from the girls' shoes and picked up a scent trail, but Breault couldn't say what, if anything, it led investigators to.

Misty Cook-Morrissey, Lyric's mother, told CNN that after smelling the scent pads Monday, the dogs ran around the lake and stopped at the water's edge.

Authorities said Tuesday that they didn't know whether the girls had been at the lake.

"We have their bicycles and we have the purse and that doesn't tell me that they've been there, just that those items are there," Abben said.

MOO. . .

It means that the girls' scents were found at the lake, but because nobody can place them at the lake they can't be certain they were there. And specifically, since no one can place them at the lake during the time frame of the abduction, they can't be sure that is where the girls were abducted.

ETA-There are other possible scenarios to explain why their scent would be there, but that would not be the abduction site.
