This item really makes me wonder, hope they keep an eye on this woman.
http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/...be-animal-control-worker-johnston-police-say/

" In this instance, police said, a short brunette with graying hair in a ponytail that went all the way down her back approached the resident. Her clothes resembled an animal control uniform but had no identifying features, and she was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with three antennas and a triangle emblem with “ARL” and a picture of a dog displayed on a door.

The rear license plate was unreadable; there was no plate in front, police said.""

As I recall, I asked Ollipop if that little patch of woods had poison ivy in it and he said no. He said there was some type of vine but it wasn't poison ivy. My guess would be bindweed (related to morning glory).

Ollipop also said that the woods have been cleared out a good deal and it no longer looks the way it did before 13 July.

There is stinging nettle, however. Pretty sure I even recognize such in some photos of that wooded area. Many people, if they get stung with that, will use water or mud (as quickly as possible) to counter the sting. That might explain a 'trail to the water'.

TB's quote also actually uses past tense to describe a geographical location that still exists. Speech analysis only works when you take in context of a person's normal speech patterns, which no one can do based off media interviews regardless of their claims. Most people do not speak correct English nowadays, and tend to be sloppy with use of tense quite a bit. So, taking a sentence or two from a media interview is pretty useless when we don't have a feeling for any of these people's normal speech patterns.
IMHO.

I've said it before when this topic came up, but everyone has referred to the girls in the past tense. Actually, at that time, I had said everyone except the dads. I guess now it's only DC. Even Mrs. C referred to them in the past tense.

Oh great. First our kids and now our pets. Why don't people get their own and leave ours alone. In case they missed the lesson, taking things that don't belong to you is bad no matter what it is. You just don't do it. Simple.

I agree with this. For a while people were picking apart G'mas word and phrases and the plain truth is this is how these people talk. If we saw how they write, it would probably support the theory that they are not well educated and speak the way they learned how to speak from their parents and neighbors. They probably even use the word "irregardless". ;) I know the folks here in Minnesota speak the same way.

Now don't be pickin' on "irregardless", that is a mighty useful word.

I "seen" it used "alot" but regardless of whether irregardless has been added to the dictionary due to common misuse and has become acceptable use, it still bugs me. :)

My personal pet peeve word is "inflammable" which should mean not flammable, but instead means the same thing as flammable. So in that vein, irregardless of the in-, flammable means flammable.
I think it's time for me to go to bed now.

Oh god. This especially creeps me out, as it brought to mind that picture of the woman in the link someone posted a while back who was being sought after LEO saw her on video engaged in sexual acts with two young children.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to ride a bike and video at the same time? Do you think that lady was holding a cell phone or a camcorder, and I was thinking about taping my phone to my head, LOL.

I may need a new iPad because when I read that cinder is thinking about taping her phone to her head while riding her bike, :floorlaugh: I had limeade shoot out oh my nose at an odd angle. :floorlaugh: funny stuff.

How the heck else am I going to ride a bike, plus hold on to my phone, AND get the right angles, not the ground, the sky, my feet.

Breault confirmed the dogs led "to the water".

We know the girls ARE NOT in the water.

Does this add credibility to the staging theory? A perp dragged items belonging to the girls from the bikes to the waters edge?

:cow:

Sorry, I'm still catching up. . .but this is along my line of thought too. I don't think it would take any kind of special knowledge, short of just watching CSI a few times, to drag, say, a shirt or a shoe of the victims and tossing it in the lake.

MOO

It's pretty common in populated areas to have a pet stolen and then sold for drug money. Watch your chihuahuas.

Agree with you. I have no compassion for thieves.

Oh yeah. . .it's really bad around here. Read the pet ads on Craigslist. They steal peoples dogs and then sell them. . .I think there are even rings where they move them to different areas to sell. Poor doggies. :(

ETA- A word to the wise. . .microchip your pets. We just had our new dog microchipped and I know the vet scanned him to see if he was already chipped.

Animal rescue league, so?

"The Animal Rescue League of Iowa said neither the woman, her clothes or the car was associated with the organization.

The news release said anybody approached in a similar manner should immediate call Johnston police at 515-278-2345. Those with questions or information about this case can call Sgt. Tyler Tompkins at 515-252-1367."

Jules I have the same questions.

In other news, Chelsea Hoffman has joined one of the FB groups.
