From where the girls scent was at the waters edge, could be where they got into the paddle boat thinking a ride along the lake was what they were going to get, but the perp went straight to the wooded area, dragged then out of the boat ,through some underbrush ( dogs caught scent) into a vehicle that was hidden by trees and brush.

Yes, that could be it, if a paddleboat is involved at all. That wouldn't explain their scent being detected by the dock. That's what I'd like to understand. The dock was near the parking lot but was removed when they drained the lake. When were they at the dock area? Was it the scent of one girl or both girls? Was it actually on the dock or just near the dock? If they were at the parking lot/dock area, then someone definately should have seen them.

It's pretty common in populated areas to have a pet stolen and then sold for drug money. Watch your chihuahuas.

Agree with you. I have no compassion for thieves.

Sorry for the O/T--And the latest disgusting, disturbing, beyond sickening trend--crush videos. Please keep an eye on your pets, and if you must re home an animal, please, please, please do not advertise them as freebies.

On July 18th LE officials called for all residential and commercial trash in the city of Evansdale to be set aside in the Black Hawk county landfill to be searched through by those involved in the ongoing investigation for the missing girls. This was 6 days after they went missing, so why would they do this if they tought the girls were still alive?

It seems obvious to me that police were not single minded in this investigation. From the beginning, it seems that they were looking at several possibilities including lost, abducted, drowned, alive, and not alive. While they were draining the lake, they were also stopping cars and speaking with drivers. While they were searching the 12 square miles, they were preparing to drain the lake. Whle they were preparing to drain the lake, they were questioning the family and completing polygraphs.

I vaguely remember something about a lunch being found on the dock, not that dogs tracked to the dock or that there was any evidence of the girls on the dock.

Let's suppose that someone asked the girls to meet them at the SE tip of Meyers Lake for a paddleboat ride. Once the girls were there, they could have been grabbed with or without a paddleboat, so why would anyone complicate things by actually having a stolen/borrowed paddleboat, and why would the paddleboat thief/borrower bother to return the paddleboat to the owners after kidnapping two children?

I agree, I think the paddle boat was just a lure to get them there, maybe it was sitting right there for them to get into, but instead they were dragged away.

I heard the dock was removed so the divers could search easier, and last time I was there the dock was there but not in the water, just out and sitting aside.

If it was the dock by the parking lot, they could of been there BEFORE the abduction. There is a small boat dock across from where the bikes were found on someones property where a green paddle boat was docked also.

I don't think so. I think that someone reported seeing a paddleboat in the area on July 13 and police were trying to track down the person in the paddleboat to ask if he or she witnessed anything. The last I read was that several people had come forward after police requested information. Because police requested that any paddleboaters on the lake that day come forward, some have assumed that a paddleboater kidnapped the children, but that doesn't seem like a logical leap. That's like assuming that if police requested that someone with a stroller at the park on that day come forward, the stroller must have been used in the abduction.

You don't think maybe someone saw a person in a paddle boat because maybe thats when the perp took the paddle boat from a residence and paddled over to the spot where the girls could ( but didn't) get in?

And the reason the person in the paddle boat never came forward is because thats the perp. jmo

I don't know if someone saw a paddleboat in the lake on that day. I originally thought that Misty said she spoke to a paddleboater and that the paddleboater claimed to have seen the children. All we know is that police requested that anyone that was using a paddleboat on the lake that afternoon contact police. Police also requested that anyone that was at the park that day contact them. How do we make the leap from police requesting information from people on and off the water that afternoon to a paddleboat was involved in the abduction?

I don't think we know whether anyone came forward regarding being on the lake in a paddleboat.

The only reason I thought the boat was involved was by it being a lure only not the abduction vehicle, that would be absurd.

Last night, they did pick up on a scent near a dock on the lake, so that area was the focus of attention for much of last night.by Aaron Hepker - KCRG 2:33 PMhttp://www.kcrg.com/evansdaledisappearance

Before I go I need Mr. C's address so I can ride by there.

Southwest corner of Gilbert and Lake Avenue, right across the street from Police Dept and Fire Station. You may want to take a look at Hollye's map before you head out. It's on the first post of every thread.

from the Urban Dictionary -

irregardless

Used by people who ignorantly mean to say regardless. According to webster, it is a word, but since the prefix "ir" and the suffx "less" both mean "not or with" they cancel each other out, so what you end up with is regard. When you use this to try to say you don't care about something, you end up saying that you do. Of course everyone knows what you mean to say and only a pompous, rude ******* will correct you.

LOL! No, I don't think MNDad is all that ^^^!! Just think that's really funny!

I have never corrected anyone, so I may not be a rude *** and only be a pompous ***. I just make a little mental note of who uses it for my pompous file. ;)

I can't seem to find any information about the scent being found at the dock. When I search for the comment, I find the identical comment posted on two forums, this one and one other (this one first, the other one 5 minutes later), but nothing connecting to a published article. The link goes to a generic page containing numerous articles.
