Do you mean parking lot when you say entrance? If you're suggesting that the children met the perp in the parking lot, then wouldn't he have done a quick grab right there? ... no need to waste time going to the other side of the lake and back to the parking lot.

Yes thats what I was suggesting. But why wouldn't he grab them there?? Because it would be a HUGE risk.

Has a black Chevy pickup ever been mentioned in anything? Just wondering.

Not that I know of, but I was a little late to this case. What was your feeling about the houses on the end of Evans? If someone had access to one of those yards, would it make a difference?

ETA- Because I still absolutely believe those bikes were staged. . . and that would mean that the perp was local and needed to get rid of those bikes. I like the house theory.

Hi guys, Im back from Evansdale. Bad news. My cell camcorder only runs for 3 minutes! UGH. Frickin Samsung freeform 4. Anyway, I rode my bike from Collins house to the bike path off lafayette st straight to the lake, I went at a pretty good pace and got to were the bikes were found in 9 minutes. Yup 9 minutes, and Im middle aged not a 10yr old. Now I got some good pictures so I will post them now.

:seeya::takeabow::blowkiss:
thank goodness Cinder is back and safe!
Now to scroll back and read her post.

No, I said if he parked over by Arbutus/Maiden. So if the perp met them in the parking lot of the lake and wanted to get them closer to his vehicle away from public view. He says ride over there by the jetty and I will get the boat and meet you. They head over (around the west side of the lake via path) and he creeps back toward his vehicle by possibly walking down Evans and then to the shore by the last house ( next to wooded area) or he goes in the wooded area and says 'girls over here'. They set purse down and walk along shoreline and he gets them in his vehicle. Or he says my car is right there I need help carrying the boat... or whatever... I could go on and on. The possibilities are endless.

What if none of that was even necessary and the girls went directly to that house??

The entrance at the gate to the water, it was so creepy here, I was totally alone. This is where the purse was found.

This picture made where the purse was found gave me chills.
I can see why it was creepy.

OK. .. but that's not the house I'm talking about. ;)

OK. .. I'm just going to say it. I sleuthed someone. I believe they were even referred to as a person of interest. . .I know they said "not a witness, but may have information." I'm not implying this person is the perp. This person had. . key word "had". . .social media pictures from a back yard that sat next to the vacant house. I never could quite figure out if it was to the left or right. . .because by the time I realized that might be important, the pics were gone.

I have to say, after seeing the interview with Mr.C, I find him credible. I do believe that Elizabeth frequently rode that area on her bike and quite possibly talked it up with people in that area.

Anyway, it opens up a LOT of possibilities for me. Hypothetically speaking, what if the girls destination was a house in that corner of the lake? What if that house conveniently had easy access to all these areas of interest in that SE corner of Meyers Lake?

So the house with the green paddle boat maybe? I feel sick. Just a feeling I got when I read your post. Now I need to go sleuth the same thing.

I kept looking over my shoulder the whole time. It was creepy, yet so sad.

Look at this, its right when you walk thru the gate and look right towards the woods .

IMO its scary, creepy and I see what could possibly be places where a perp could easily hide! :what:
IMO

Thanks cinder!

Yes. That would work much much better. Like I said.... I feel sick. I focused on possibly JW having a connection with the empty house but never thought much about any other house there. There is only one house to the left of the one for sale and that house is basically right next to the wooded area and the perfect location.

I see no reason for Elizabth and Lyric to detour down Lake Avenue. If they rode the Evansdale Nature Trail, then they were going there for a reason and dawdling along a street that is 7 blocks out of the way doesn't add up for me.

It's also possible that they zig-zagged from Brovan by first turning South on River Forest Road and then cutting through the back roads until they got to the Lake ... most likely entering from the West end. It seems equally possible and it addresses Abben's remark about the girls riding in the wrong direction.

I don't see the Lake Avenue route as being a detour. It just seems like another possible way, but not necessarily a "detour". Maybe they have a friend who lives on Lake Avenue. Maybe it's the way the school bus goes, so it's familiar to Elizabeth. Maybe it seemed like a short-cut to them. I think the distance is probably about the same, but maybe to them it seemed like a short-cut to go that way rather than staying on Evansdale Nature Trail the whole way. Maybe they like turning on Gilbert because the skateboard park is there. I don't see it as being 7 blocks out of the way. It's just another way to get to the south-east tip of the lake.

We don't know which way they went to get to the lake. Mr. C said he saw them. We don't know if he did. We don't know that they turned on Lake Avenue at all, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to me that they may have done so. For all we know, the girls were roaming all over town at various times. They may have been freer to roam than the family has portrayed. They may have been very familiar with the streets and may have just gone along according to their whim. Kids are whimsical.

We just don't know these things, so anything is possible.

9 minutes from collins house to the lake. I think if they cut past carpenters house it still would be around that time.

Cinder, for me that makes more sense. 9 minutes to get to the lake.... not 5 or 6.
Which cuts abduction time even more! IMO

But if they were at his vehicle when he supposely told them to meet him somewhere else so he could more easily abduct him ... I don't get it. It would be far easier to abduct the girls right there and then rather than have them walk their bikes to the lake and then lure them back to the vehicle without the bikes. It seems far too complicated ... unnecessarily complicated.

That parking lot area was way too wide open and visible for anyone to try and grab the girls right there, imo . And there are surveillance cameras. I would be very nervous trying to kidnap the girls and then take their bikes out in the open like that. Who knows how many people in the surrounding stores and cars and houses could see us.

But that bike trail was very hidden and remote. Once he got the girls there he had total control. And the easiest way to do that is to ask them nicely to ride there and wait for him to bring the ____________________. [ puppies, popsicles, $, horses, paddle boats, etc] to meet them.

Big question for you guys. Who if anyone is your prime suspect? Don't get in the naughty chair.

Did you get a photo of the back of the Auction Shop where the girls were last seen? Did you ride from that point and on River Forest Road to get to Lafayette, or did you start the ride going East on Lafayetter from the front of Ledermans Shop?

And, in your opinion, would said black Chevy be seen by anyone other than you on your bike? A neighbor? In other words, did you kind of have to look for it as you rode by to pay any attention to it at all?
