Big question for you guys. Who if anyone is your prime suspect? Don't get in the naughty chair.

There is no suspect. These girls were abducted by someone that the family does not know. The girls may have had some minor interactions with the perp in the past. They could have been grabbed in the parking lot along Brovan or they could have ridden their bikes to the SE tip of Meyers Lake where they were abducted and forced to walk to a vehicle.

Did you get a photo of the back of the Auction Shop where the girls were last seen? Did you ride from that point and on River Forest Road to get to Lafayette, or did you start the ride going East on Lafayetter from the front of Ledermans Shop?

I rode from Collins house ( back of auction house also there to the right of me) to the stop sign then right , then to Lafayette st took another right to bike trail. Collins house is behind the auction house.

I didn't ask, WHO is the prime suspect, I asked who do you THINK is the prime suspect. Maybe I should just put honey bager to bed. lol

No, I said if he parked over by Arbutus/Maiden. So if the perp met them in the parking lot of the lake and wanted to get them closer to his vehicle away from public view. He says ride over there by the jetty and I will get the boat and meet you. They head over (around the west side of the lake via path) and he creeps back toward his vehicle by possibly walking down Evans and then to the shore by the last house ( next to wooded area) or he goes in the wooded area and says 'girls over here'. They set purse down and walk along shoreline and he gets them in his vehicle. Or he says my car is right there I need help carrying the boat... or whatever... I could go on and on. The possibilities are endless.

So true.

He may not have even talked to them at all. If he just watched them, he could probably figure out they were headed towards that side of the lake. I know the view is obscured by the island, but a creeper is a creeper... if he wanted to know which way they were going, he could have figured it out. He could have driven over there, parked on Maiden or in the grassy area, and then found them on the trail.

I still think there are multiple perps. And, I don't think a car ever parked over there at all. I think one or two perps. grabbed them and took them to a get-away car just as it pulled up near the grassy area.

If the above is kinda sorta the case and there is only one perp. then the girls knew him/her. MOO. Unless he had a weapon...

more possibilities.

From other areas I visited today, I have my suspect. Just wish FBI is checking it out, I mean really checking it, with dogs etc.

Thanks. I just pulled Meyers Lake up on Google maps and it looks like the island might be about twice the size (or larger) than the wooded area by Maiden Lane. I think they need to search it again. It's so thickly wooded.

I totally agree.
Cinders pictures made things clearer for me.
I knew the area was wooded but these pictures for
Whatever reason made me realize just how much.

The brush is so thick , someone could have hidden and watched
the girls unnoticed for days!
The girls could imooooo be hidden out there anywhere.
:moo:

I don't want you to get the impression that the woods are big, they are small, really. There is no way the girls would of been hidden there for days, or even hours. I would say the wood area is less than an acre for sure.

One reason I have had an interest in that empty house, next door to the house that I assume had the "borrowed" paddle boat, is that there might be access to that paddle boat through that yard that is secluded enough to get away with that "borrowing." However, as I'm also sure LE has thoroughly gone over that boat, and possibly even with dogs, I tend to think it a no-brainer it was not used in the abduction. As to a lure, I'm really not all that convinced such would entice those girls to ride all that way for a 'boat ride.'
Another thought here... as it didn't take people long to look that 'for sale' house up and learn who its owner is, and this perp even casually knows members of these families, it might even be one reason the bikes were staged where they were.
I don't think it was family, not convinced at all JW had a part in it, but maybe it was all made to implicate such?
Just my thoughts here, but I tend to think Lyric may have been the primary target, not so much Elizabeth. I do believe it was planned. And I do think those bikes were staged. I also believe the perp had a bit more thorough knowledge of the area around that lake to pull it off, too.

Some guy that thought it was a good idea to abduct two little girls on Friday the 13th, probably someone that works with a third Friday off ... perhaps someone that knows the backroads ... came home late and was reclusive that night.

The woods are a small area next to the lake on the east side. If I did walk it ,it would probally take 2 minutes to get from the gate to the street( out of the woods). I think some of you think it's big, a huge forest, its not at all like that.

  • #1,292
I have a feeling the perp knew that, that time of day it would be easy because people would not be around. If you had the perfect place to abduct two girls, that would be the place.

Wow!
Cinder your pictures and hard work made me
feel the area ....really feel it.
I kept thinking about the paved bike path when I
Wondered about the girls being abducted but
your pictures opened my eyes to the creepiness of the lake.

I think some creep watched these little girls,
maybe met them before July13 and talked them into
Coming to the lake that day! Imoo

Interesting. . .what if the paddle boat wasn't "borrowed"?

Also, correct me if I am wrong here, but the owners of that paddle boat claimed they were gone that day, so we don't really have a tight time frame for when that boat could have been borrowed, yes? When LE put out for the "borrower" and witnesses to any paddle boats on the lake, if anyone did see such, did they even know what time it was?

  • #1,295
Thank you Cindersoot for 'walking the walk' or in this case riding the bike to get those shots.
The feeling I got looking at the photos was oddly unsettling , everything seemed kind of creepy and sad...

That's it dot. Oddly unsettling.

"would entice the girls to ride all that way"? All that way? 9 minutes.

Well, yeah... ya know... unless someone specifically saw a GREEN one (and who notes colors of a boat in the WATER??), all ya gotta do is... maybe move it a bit. If it's out of the water, get it wet. They don't weigh THAT much. Anyway, just make it LOOK like it was.

I can think of better enticements, that maybe weren't even there when they arrived. It could even explain why the perp made the boat look used. Just a thought. It could have been. Just looking for things that would cause two girls to be so enticed.
If WC last saw them, and possibly called to them, at 12:15, but Lyric didn't have to be in that house until 1:30, I'm sure Lyric figured she had plenty of time to go to Meyers Lake, then back again. Plus... I've been curious as to why Elizabeth had her purse and cell phone just to dawdle around the house on bikes. The cell phone had a working clock. Did they stash that cell phone in the purse to use as a clock, so they wouldn't be late and get in trouble (again, for Lyric)?

I am thinking that the lure of the 'boat ride' might have been more of a lure about the person they were riding with.

We know that a certain cousin of a certain missing girl had been meeting older guys online and one of them was arrested for meeting up with her. So imo, it is possible that the real 'lure' was the meeting with the guy. The boat ride was just something to do while they hung out. So it was like " meet me over at the jetty and we all can go out on the lake.." It wasn't about the boat ride, it was about meeting the guy to 'hang out.' imo [ It is hard for some of us to know or to remember, but 10 yr olds are on the verge of those adolescent pangs...]

And, in your opinion, would said black Chevy be seen by anyone other than you on your bike? A neighbor? In other words, did you kind of have to look for it as you rode by to pay any attention to it at all?

Anyone would of seen it, it was parked in the driveway.
