OK. .. I'm just going to say it. I sleuthed someone. I believe they were even referred to as a person of interest. . .I know they said "not a witness, but may have information." I'm not implying this person is the perp. This person had. . key word "had". . .social media pictures from a back yard that sat next to the vacant house. I never could quite figure out if it was to the left or right. . .because by the time I realized that might be important, the pics were gone.

I have to say, after seeing the interview with Mr.C, I find him credible. I do believe that Elizabeth frequently rode that area on her bike and quite possibly talked it up with people in that area.

Anyway, it opens up a LOT of possibilities for me. Hypothetically speaking, what if the girls destination was a house in that corner of the lake? What if that house conveniently had easy access to all these areas of interest in that SE corner of Meyers Lake?

Is your person sleuthed someone we here at WS would associate with this case?

Well, yeah... ya know... unless someone specifically saw a GREEN one (and who notes colors of a boat in the WATER??), all ya gotta do is... maybe move it a bit. If it's out of the water, get it wet. They don't weigh THAT much. Anyway, just make it LOOK like it was.

I don't want you to get the impression that the woods are big, they are small, really. There is no way the girls would of been hidden there for days, or even hours. I would say the wood area is less than an acre for sure.

They look kinda of thick to me. If someone was laying don, they wouldn't be seen easily right?

I am thinking that the lure of the 'boat ride' might have been more of a lure about the person they were riding with.

We know that a certain cousin of a certain missing girl had been meeting older guys online and one of them was arrested for meeting up with her. So imo, it is possible that the real 'lure' was the meeting with the guy. The boat ride was just something to do while they hung out. So it was like " meet me over at the jetty and we all can go out on the lake.." It wasn't about the boat ride, it was about meeting the guy to 'hang out.' imo [ It is hard for some of us to know or to remember, but 10 yr olds are on the verge of those adolescent pangs...]

I've been trying to catch up on this thread here ever since I got home from work at 12:45am before I posted anything, but it looks like you took the words right out of my mouth. An older boy with a driver's license could very easily be the perp. Maybe he was driving around town seen the girls on the bikes and yelled at them to meet him at such and such place and told them he had something to show them. Is there a gas station or quick stop where the kids hang out? Here in SD the kids can get a driver's permit to drive at 14 years of age. Not sure of the laws in IA. I think I'd find out if Elizabeth had a crush on an older kid or if she hung around and talked to older kids hanging out at the gas station. Also I'd check it out if there were any kids bullying either of these girls. Are there any kids in the area that can't be accounted for during this time? My gut tells me that some older kids are involved here and don't ask me why?

I doubt it is (just/only) a delay tactic. IMHO if his lawyer didn't request one, it could become grounds for appeal based on ineffective counsel.

Sometimes true justice is more in the spirit of the law than in the letter.

Lawmakers never envisioned a defendant's child and niece going missing just before trial. It's impossible to imagine everything and who wants to imagine something so horrifying? So that's why judges have discretion.
