It reminds me of one from KwikStar. I know I've seen it before (yep I love my coffee); I'll keep my eyes open and see if I can locate one like it.

Well, LaylaD, it seems you are correct! I did a search and there it was, and this coffee cup is exclusive to Kwik Star stores, the coffee an exclusive of Kwik Trip, Inc. What else I found interesting, and seems to verify my hunch, is that looking up locations for Kwik Stars, they are only in Waterloo (numerous), one in Jesup, IA (east of Evansdale), and one in Dunkerton, IA. None listed in Evansdale. So, perhaps this wee coffee cup is an "out-of-towner" for Evansdale? I wonder how it got where they found it? Seems to have survived the "hard rain" shortly before the girls went missing, too. MOO

Regarding the recently released "6 Points" from LE....

Since they're asking the public to study their faces, wouldn't it be great to show some brief home videos of the girls? If nothing else, at least to show how they move, their unique mannerisms, or just to get a better sense of them.

OT:
I recall a case of a UWM student who disappeared herself to get attention. She spent her days walking in local parks/ talking to people and no one was the wiser. Totally different case, but she was missing in plain sight!

I think video of the girls would help, unless LE knows something I do not.

Maybe LE ought to check if there was anybody on video buy coffee at one of these Kwik Stars on the day in question. Its a start. They may even have someone on video getting into a certain vehicle.

It occurs to me that the testing at Ankeny would have produced something from that cup, e.g., DNA or prints. Could be that the recent 6 points were generated from evidence coming back of that sort. Also, agents were allegedly asking for cash receipts in area convenience stores (Casey's I believe) some weeks ago. Narrowing down the cup type to Kwi/k St/ar will surely be helpful..I'm pretty sure they've already done that..at least I hope so! Sure looks like a new cup in that pic...I can see a perp hanging around in the early part of the day with a coffee by the lake...waiting. Maybe the perp was already there or maybe the perp arrived with the cup and talked to the girls by the edge of the lake or something...then off they went. Maybe he/she/they forgot to take the cup and was unaware of the purse.

I was thinking the same, today. It would so easy,unfortunately, for a perp to hide/spy on the unsuspecting girls. Hidden and just waiting for the girls to get to a secluded part of the lake trail.

When I was a newlywed, I decided to catch some rays on the patio of our new town home before going to work. My husband was at work, and I was all alone on the new development. None of the other town homes were yet occupied. We were surrounded on two sides by thick woods. I leaned back into my chaise and felt perfectly safe. A few minutes passed and I don't know what possessed me to, but I bolted upright and spun around. About eight feet behind me stood a young male, shirtless with only jeans and bare feet? It was only about 65 degrees! He froze in place. All I could think of was how I could get back in the house, which I did. I still think I dodged a bullet, there.

To this day, it creeps me out. He had been watching me...ugh...and not for very long.

I was watching the movie about catching the Green River Killer last night. A couple of things struck me. One convict that was interviewed to give information on the mind of the killer said that the killer was a hunter..loved the chase..loved the capture...and loved the kill itself. Another thing was that when the GRK himself was interviewed, he said that he considered the victims his, i.e., he viewed them as belonging to him personally. Interesting in that rape is a crime of violence not really a sexual release act...it is an act of power and control and is punitive (and it fulfills the needs of someone who lacks that to some degree in their own perception..an impulse as you will). The detective said, after he was caught, that he did not fit their original profile. Obviously, at this point, we don't know if this was a rapist or murderer. All we know is that they were "disappeared" for some reason. MOO

I know we have discussed this before, but I'm still puzzled by why the missing poster of Lyric and Elizabeth says they were last seen riding their bikes at around 2 p.m. The poster also asks for information from anyone who saw them after 12:15.

If this poster is incorrect about the 2 p.m. time, why hasn't the poster ever been corrected?

If the poster is right, who saw them at the lake at around 2 p.m.? The guy TB talked to??

Some people have said that it was prepared by people who lack attention to detail...well..this is way too important a matter to let such a "mistake" go IMHO..even if done out of good faith. OTOH, I could see that LE would overlook or even encourage deviations in the timeline, because anyone who comes forward will be asked what and when they saw, etc., and that will be compared to what they actually have and know to be true. If they put down exact times, it could cause a witness to alter the time something was seen in order to fit the timeline..which would not be helpful. Not necessarily devious, just unhelpful or unreliable. MOO

I would bet they've already thought of that.... and probably sent the cup to the lab for possible DNA and fingerprints, just in case.

Excellent point. So...now I wonder when this poster was created with the 2:00 time...before or after people had come forward. If it was created on the 14th, that could mean something. If it was created for example, Thurs. or Fri., the following week..that could mean something too. The weird thing is that in one of the articles the other day regarding the 6 points, I think I read that it said the bikes were "found" at "around 2:00", which completely throws everything off even further. This is what I was referring to the other day that it at least appears that someone is purposely muddying the waters. The timeline is liquid to say the least. MOO
