DCI and FBI agents are knocking on doors, and not just sex offenders, but checking all the homes around Evansdale, Iowa. Is this in light of new people coming forward or do authorities think they may have missed something?

I am just shocked people decide 3 months later to report something to LE...that just baffles my mind!
Maybe I'm just naive and most people don't notice stuff?

I hope they do check homes, garages, freezers etc...look at that sweet girl in NJ, the bike was in the house and she was in a recycle bin!

Autumn Pasquale, poor little 12 year old, tossed like trash and most likely killed over her bike. Just tragic.

I hope LE continues searching for Lyric and Elizabeth as long as it takes, and I hope the community continues to keep their eyes and ears open for any info about the girls.

Yes, if it was something they saw or heard at the time. But if it's something they just now saw or heard, that's understandable. People talk, and someone could have overheard something and thought it was worth reporting.

What amazes me is that LE is just now checking homes and people that were not checked out in the beginning. I know it takes time to interview people and they may not have all the manpower they need, but it shouldn't take months to get around to talking to them.

But they can't just go and search someone's property without a search warrant, and that requires probable cause. No judge is going to sign one unless LE has reason to suspect someone.

I realize they cannot search without cause, I believe they were asking people.
I agree, it's hard to understand how it could take 3 months to talk to all the homeowner's unless they happen to be travelling/or own more than one home.

Thank goodness there have been two crimes solved this week. I'm hoping that this crime will be solved also. Wouldn't it be nice if things did really happen in three's?

http://kdvr.com/2012/04/29/photos-released-of-suspects-in-attempted-abduction-of-lone-tree-girls/

"Police say the men were seen in surveillance video driving a white van when they approached two young girls riding their bikes on April 20."

This happened in Colorado, but when I saw the reference to two girls riding their bikes and a white van, I immediately thought of Lyric and Elizabeth.

There is no connection, as far as I can tell, but thought the similarities were worth noting.

Creepy looking, aren't they?
I'm glad you posted this for the info.
You're probably right about there not being a connection but I hope that van is thoroughly inspected.
I checked on a map and even though it is almost a straight line to Lone Tree, it is 820 miles or 13 hours driving time. Quite a distance.

As I was typing this, it came to me that Gary Michael Hilton had his territory from Florida to North Carolina that we know of for sure. He has been convicted of one murder in FL, and pleaded guilty to one murder in GA and two in NC. He is also mentioned in homicides and missing persons in numerous other states. There is a whole forum on him in the Serial Killer section.

This is OT people.....but very, very chilling......frightening......it makes you wonder who else, where else, are people abusing their power & positions unknowingly.......WARNING THIS IS GRAPHIC NEWS.......... this is yahoo news and may not be accepted here, if not i appologize.......main stream media to me is probably different than here at WS and i dont know for sure what is acceptable....

http://news.yahoo.com/nyc-police-officer-charged-cannibalism-plot-232526657.html

A city police officer dreamed up plots to kidnap, torture, cook and eat at least 100 women whose photos, names and addresses he pulled from a confidential law enforcement database, authorities said Thursday.

Gilberto Valle's fantasies about cannibalizing women — in one, he said he hoped to "cook her over low heat, keep her alive as long as possible" — were retrieved in a trail of emails, computer files and instant messages in online fetish chat rooms, and authorities said he was arrested because he was taking steps to carry them out.

Valle had created a computer catalogue with records of at least 100 women with their names, addresses and photos, the complaint says. Some of the information came from his unauthorized use of a restricted law enforcement database, authorities said. He claimed, according to the complaint, that he knew many of them.

The complaint alleges that in February, Valle negotiated to kidnap another woman — Victim 2 — for someone else, writing, "$5,000 and she's all yours."

He told the buyer he was aspiring to be a professional kidnapper, authorities said.

"I think I would rather not get involved in the rape," the complaint said. "You paid for her. She is all yours, and I don't want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl."

It says he added: "I will really get off on knocking her out, tying up her hands and bare feet and gagging her. Then she will be stuffed into a large piece of luggage and wheeled out to my van."

Valle's estranged wife tipped authorities off to his chilling online activity, leading to his arrest, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the official wasn't authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing case

I am literally sick to my stomach that we have to live amongst evil so unknowingly!Praise God that his estranged wife turned him in before he had actually done anything, as far as they know!

Sorry for reposting my own post, but I see I didn't make myself clear even to me.

I was trying to say that even though it was a long distance away, that fact alone should not rule them out from being connected to our girls. Their van needs to be checked as well as the whereabouts of these men back in July.

To prove that point that some predators can travel great distances to commit their crimes, I mentioned GMH as an example, not as a possibility, since he has been in court or prison for ten years or so.

Reposting this newsclip from September..
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/ar...ctor-might-video-official-says?nclick_check=1

"Authorities leading the search for two Iowa cousins believe those involved in the abduction used a vehicle that was likely recorded on a surveillance camera.

However, officials say they need more information from the public about what to look for in the hours of surveillance footage they have collected"

snip

“Regardless of whether the person(s) responsible for taking Elizabeth and Lyric reside, work, or have acquaintances in the area, or possibly came to the area to commit a crime, it is virtually impossible for any person to live, travel, or exist in a vacuum,” Paulson wrote. “Someone knows something that might be valuable to law enforcement.”
