Vigil planned at 6:30 p.m. at Meyer's Lake #evansdalesearch. The families have been seen at their church, but are requesting privacy

I wish we could all be there, waiting outside for them and letting them know how much profound sorrow we feel over their losses. Two young ladies who might have changed the world are gone. I hope both families have the strength to bear up under the grief.

Just saw the news..had to pop in to say how deeply saddened I am at this news. Was so hoping they were hid out - perhaps to delay the other court proceedings or something, anything :(

RIP sweeties fly with the angels

To be a serial killer they have to kill three or more and do each murder at different times.

We know we have a double murderer on the loose.

imo

oceanblueeyes, it is not my intention to split hairs in the midst of such a tragic incident. You are correct that this is a double murder. A double murder by a child predator. Child predators are extremely recidivist and will continue their evil deeds until apprehended..

September 2, 2005

The goal of the Symposium was to bring together a group of respected experts on serial murder from a variety of fields and specialties, to identify the commonalities of knowledge regarding serial murder.
II. Definition of Serial Murder

In the past thirty years, multiple definitions of serial murder have been used by law enforcement, clinicians, academia, and researchers. While these definitions do share several common themes, they differ on specific requirements, such as the number of murders involved, the types of motivation, and the temporal aspects of the murders. To address these discrepancies, attendees at the Serial Murder Symposium examined the variations in order to develop a single definition for serial murder.

The different discussion groups at the Symposium agreed on a number of similar factors to be included in a definition. These included:

• one or more offenders
• two or more murdered victims
• incidents should be occurring in separate events, at different times
• the time period between murders separates serial murder from mass murder

In combining the various ideas put forth at the Symposium, the following definition was crafted:

Serial Murder: The unlawful killing of two or more victims by the same offender(s), in separate events.

I'm glad these girls have finally been found. I hope justice can now be served. I have to wonder if the perp is someone whom we've discussed or if it's a completely new player.

I think it may be someone not discussed before. Someone that has flown under the radar and that is why LE has not made an arrest. But I havent seen all the people that everyone thought could be a suspect.

I just caught the last couple minutes on JVM so forgive me as all I heard was they think they found the girls bodies. IMO the suspect is either dead OR is in custody for another crime, possibly confessed but did not give the exact location of the bodies?

Like many of you, I have long suspected someone associated w/ DM's shady past and someone local. Now, I'm not so sure. Even though they were found close by, it very well could have been someone passing through. Like one of these two animals... The guy that killed Samantha Koenig in Alaska who recently committed suicide. He also confessed to at least 7 other murders across the US before killing himself and they did not name all of his victims. The other I've always wondered about is the photographer (Jesse Spiers I think) that kidnapped the young girl in Montana, sexually assaulted her and left her in the mountains. Hunters found her alive and he was caught. There was discussion on her thread that there were a few time lapses of posts on his blog where he said he would be traveling to unknown destinations to take photographs - as he posted prior to his road trip when he kidnapped the Montana girl. As I recall, one of the those times was around the time the girls disappeared and after. It was said that he had a ton of photos of nude young girls in his vehicle.

Just my thoughts... and I do apologize if all of this has been mentioned or somehow ruled out. I have not had a chance to catch up prior to posting.

RIP baby girls :(

About your theory that suspect is either dead or in custody -- add that there is a news conference scheduled for 4p tomorrow.

Oh thank you. Im so sorry I misinformed anyone ..that was not my intentions.

At one time in the past it had to be three or more at different intervals. I didnt realize it had changed.

I think it is a possibility that the perp is an avid hunter and knows this area well.

I know it's highly improbable, but still it's possible that the girls traveled 23 miles on foot, isn't it? Is there any chance they were running away? Left their bikes at the lake so they could run across the highway? (Is the place where they were found on the other side of the highway from Meyers Lake?)

I just think a hunter would know where other hunters hunt and would not put it them in an area where they could be discovered during hunting season.

Hunters stumble upon bodies quite often. I just read an article today where another hunter found a body of a missing woman. Sorry I forgot her name.

No. Average walking speed 3 to 4 mph...less for kids...would have taken 8 hours. I've heard people say how did two kids get lured into vehicle? They don't have to be lured. In a desolate area they could have just been strong armed by one person. Of course, more than one person would make it even easier.

Looks like 21 miles from Myers lake to Seven Bridges County Park.

We will have to wait and see but imo these children were transported there by vehicle most likely after they were murdered elsewhere.

I just find it highly doubtful that both of them would die in the same place if they were running away although I have never felt they were runaways.

But, if the bodies were deposited months before hunting season, he would know that animals would probally scatter any evidence.

A lot of deer hunting is just walking through the bush. Hunters might have certain "runs" that they walk year after year, but they aren't walking on a path, and so one year's walk could be a couple of hundred yards off from another year's. Except for those hunters who hunt from stands in trees, it would be impossible to predict what areas in the woods would not be traveled by hunters in any given year.

I have always thought it was more than one person. I also think who ever they were they definitely had something or someway to lure them in to the vehicle. I think they were young and up to no good. It got out of hand and resulted in them doing this. jmo
