I apologize for the gruesome nature of the following. IMO and I could be completely wrong due to lack of info, but I'm getting the sense that the bodies are pretty well intact. I say this because of how quickly they were able to remove the bodies (bones would have taken a lot longer) and the ease in which the parents were able to identify them (could have been the clothes). With animal activity and the change in the elements, I can't figure how they could have been out there the entire time and be that "preserved".

Bodies left outdoors often mummify.

That's very interesting. I wonder if 7 Bridges was mentioned as a place to search because it is a large, somewhat remote location, or if someone had info that made them suspect that area.

And I wonder if these FB people ever went there to search?

Because I can't link to anything mainstream I don't know if it's allowed to really speculate about. That area was suggested specifically because of someone posting in the rants and raves section on the w'loo craigslist. The posts were quite odd and stuck out to me at the time-they insinuated the girls could be found "under bridges" in fayette and bremer county.
I don't know how well the areas were searched or if at all.

Could someone proficient in google maps and not on a tablet (arg the limitations) find a minute t post a topographical image of the site bodies were found? Interested in the elevations and slopes as I think they my be key to why the bodies were left where they were.

The place the bodies were left may have been approached from that side of the riverbank rather than the park loop road. There are roads not so far away & a golf course across the field that borders the wooded area... Maybe they were driven in on a 4-wheeler or even a golf cart.

IIRC, during Misty's last presser, she asked that LE look beyond Black Hawk county for the girls.

I totally understand her point, however, unless you have a tip or clue where do you start to look?
In the summer, the corn going up to this park is taller than myself. There are so many parks, hunting areas, camping, wildlife areas in this state it is overwhelming.

That is why LE has to depend on the public. Who knows if anyone has even been at this location till now?

Very sad, but true...
(not being snarky, just living there previously the rural areas are endless)
