Has it ever been established what the girls were actually wearing when they disappeared? I thought this was a sleuthed topic way back when because Grandma and/or others who had last seen the girls couldn't recall what they were wearing. Maybe I am wrong, or maybe they figured it out!

I remember that. We never got a good description on the bikes either, correct me if I am wrong.

Jon Leiberman: according to Wiki, has been a producer and correspondent of America's Most Wanted.

What he said, which is from his 'LE sources', is that LE was able to identify the bodies visually without difficulty. This lead to the conclusion they weren't there at the site where they were found, exposed to elements, for very long.

Hmmm, I wonder if his sources are reliable. In a way, I hope he's wrong. I don't like the thought of them being possibly alive and suffering all this time.

It also seems odd that this could be the case since during the press conference, the guy said the parents have not seen the bodies "nor is there a reason to" (my paraphrase). I took that to mean the visual wold be of unidentifiable remains. Maybe I inferred too much.

We had a minor league serial killer in our area a couple of years back -- when the first site was being investigated, one particular channel was full of information from an LE source telling all about what he knew.

He turned out to be a part-time retired officer who was called in for traffic control down the road. He couldn't even see the site from where he was working -- he was reporting the same gossip as all the rest of us were getting :p

As has been mentioned before, Iowa suffered a severe drought this year. I cannot speak for the Wapsi, but the river in my town was low most of the summer, until well into August. I don't even recall much flooding last spring. I can only assume that the water level of the Wapsi in the pictures is a good idea of water levels in July and later.

I would initially think the bodies washed up there... except for the fact that they were found north of the last sighting. Not knowing which way this stream flowed -- how do we know if they were placed there or washed up there?

I am going to go by what I think is the most reasonable conclusion until LE comes out and says something different.

I believe they tentatively IDd them by clothing found at the disposal site. They still have not been officially IDd. I cant remember the little girls name now but they did the same thing when they finally found her and her clothing was recognizable enough to do a tentative ID even though she was skeletonized. I think they showed the parents the clothing they found and they verified they did belong to Lyric and Elizabeth.

That tells me that they can only be postively IDd through DNA or dental records.

I still think their bodies have been there shortly after they were kidnapped. Most likely that same day once it got dark.

I am thinking bones, They are looking for any scattered ones carried away by animals.
Lizzy had braces that would make an easy ID.

I am now standing by my theory I had for months. The person who did this is an older teen or young adult. Possibly the first year of having a car.
Thought he was gonna meet TB's daughter and got these poor babies instead. (Not that I wish he would have gotten the other cousin )
He kept them in his own back yard, So to speak. Where he would know, when they are found. Or be able to revisit his crimes..

You think anyone could get a hold of that person???

(Re: posting the idea of searching this area as early as July 21 on Facebook)

Her name is right there, so messaging or friending her would probably be easy, but may violate WS TOS. I know ABSOLUTELY that if you DO make contact, you CAN'T say you represent WS.

Question for the people who know the area. I'm looking at this photo: http://thegazette.com/wp-content/ga...-bridges-recreation-area/aerialsearch680f.jpg

And this one: http://thegazette.com/wp-content/ga...-bridges-recreation-area/aerialsearch680h.jpg

I notice that the river seems to be very low right now, as I would expect at the end of the year. How high would it normally be in July? How high was it this year? Did you have any high water after they disappeared?

I'm wondering whether they might have been in the water for part of the time, and washed up there. Bodies in water, especially cold water, don't decay as fast.

There was a major flood in Duluth, Minn in June.

That is exactly the way I interpreted what LE said at the PC.

Imo, they had clothing that they knew belonged to the girls or shoes and they took those to the parents to make the ID.

They are still not identified official even now.

Well I don't believe this myself. To be gone for months... in the same clothing... IMO they had on the same clothing they had on the last day they were seen.

They may never know COD if the bodies are skeletonized.

I am one that does not believe they were in good condition.

They said they do have leads they are following.

I wouldn't recommend thinking of every scary and horrible possibility and let your imagination run wild. Why do that to yourselves? That's just torturous and it serves no good purpose other than to create even more ways to feel terrible. The investigation will determine what happened and try to narrow down a TOD range.

No COD, still waiting for report from ME.

There was a presser today with little new information.

No more pressers scheduled until there is some news to report.

As far as I can tell, there are no clues pointing to anyone, or at least any clues that LE is willing to share with us.

Exactly. Because if they could really be identified just by looking at them they would have gotten a pastor or close friend to come in and ID the children or even one of the children's parents. Sadly parents have had to ID their children's bodies before.

LE said there was no need to do that and imo the reason it wasnt necessary was because their clothing/shoes/headbands etc had remained in tact enough to be identifiable as belonging to them.
