If LE thinks the girls are being held somewhere, why are they draining the lake? And taking forever to do it...

Maybe to look for evidence. Maybe to divert attention and look busy to buy time. Maybe a higher up is not 100 percent convinced. Maybe they aren't 100 percent convinced. I honestly could sway towards an abduction targeted towards LM based on SM as well. I would like to think LEis doing a better job than the bumbling it appears. They appear disorganized but the family and those "in the know" (the familys inner circle)strongly believe that they are doing a great job. I guess it could be a total random event as well but that seems to be the 3rd most likely scenario IMO. At first I thought they drowned but now I am leaning towards the first two theories.

I do. Felt from the beginning they were alive. I think it's someone local and knows them. I don't think the the father is involved, but his "past" just might; especially with the cohorts having court dates around and on their disappearance. Is there a lake or an area near there with cabins.. for a second home or hunting/fishing purposes? Locals?

Trying to remember, but didn't Misty say she had to go somewhere with her sister that day, but didn't exactly say where or what. Her answer was vague and I thought it was something to hang on to. Could they have gone to court for some reason for one of the persons caught with Daniel? Anyone else remember that?

Yes, I did hear Misty say she and her sister had to do something. She didn't' appear to want to go into details and kind of glossed over it. Sure could be a court appearance of some kind involving Daniel.

Until JVM today, I felt they either drowned or were abducted against their will. After hearing grandma has custody and there were family problems, I wonder if Lyric reached out to someone on the internet or some other family member. While they may have not gone against their will, chances are their lives are in danger, especially if it was someone Lyric met online. Maybe the moms are thinking along the same lines and so they aren't as visibly upset as I might have thought they would be.

I do not believe LE would drain this entire lake to divert attention. They are making absolutely sure, removing docks, etc...they don't know what happened to these girls. JMO

Them saying not to panic leads me to believe they have knowledge that this isn't a random event.

I agree that its probably not a diversion but I do think they have an idea. JMO

The specifics of the Evelyn Miller case were quite different from this one. Evelyn was asleep in bed while her mother was at work and the mother's boyfriend was at the house. While no arrests were made for Eveyln's death, I believe there were suspects. If I recall correctly, the mother's boyfriend was arrested on separate charges some time later. There is a thread on WS for Evelyn if anyone is interested in her case.

I do realize that, my point is the adults involved and their acquaintances were involved in drugs/meth...I can't help but believe this had something to do with her death

it ismy experience (ex inlaws) that were arrested for conspiracy to manufacture meth with meth precursers, a plea deal=ratting off other...JMO

But if this was someone who was stalking Lyric, why not take her when she was alone? It is much more dangerous, IMO, to take two children. I know it has been done before, but it seems like Lyric was alone sometimes, IIRC. Wasn't she late in getting home not too long before they disappeared?

Maybe she was meeting someone and was supposed to be alone.

or was meeting someone she had met before. maybe the last time the parents called LE when she was with her cousin from Waterloo and had gone further away and longer than she was supposed to. wonder if the other cousin has been questioned.

both are very closeby- I wonder if LE checked for any checkouts around Friday/Sat??

if either are on probation or parole from previous charges their PO can make them drop a UA at any time I believe. And if they are on either, I also believe they have to drop UAs weekly.

Here's a thought....

There was mention that the dogs hit on the jetty and the woods...

What if the girls were riding their bikes and stopped at the gate, seeing it was unlocked. They were curious, as kids are, and decided to go through the gate and check things out. They set their bikes outside the gate and went through. Elizabeth put her purse down inside the gate while they checked out the water and jetty. Someone dressed as an authority figure, maybe like a police officer, (wasn't there recent info about a police impersonator?) came up to them and told them that they were in trouble for going onto the jetty and would need to come with him. Being an authority figure, they would have been scared, but cooperative, and gone with him (purse and bikes forgotten), east down the path and through the wooded area to his waiting car/truck, which was sitting inconspicuously, off the road by the pump house, maybe with a light on it to make it look more real.

I am beginning to think that this might be what happened.

I can see this scenario, especially since Ollipop stated there was a garage located in the vicinity to the entrance on that side...and someone was occasionally adding to a foundation on the property. Did LE check this person out? Could be they or someone backed down, partly, into that path that evenutally leads to the first house-- (right of the trail and the wooded area....near the jetty and pump.)

Sadly I don't think it will end well either. Like I said, I am trying to be hopeful but most of the time feel gut wrenching despair.
