also, once you have his name there is a website that will tell you who is currently in jail or also you can google "iowa courts online", put his name in and it should bring up his record.
Thanks you! His disposition status says "transferred". I wonder what that means? Transferred to another jail facility? Or was he sent to the state psych hospital where he could have been released? He's scary!

I just looked him up on Ia Courts online...it says they have merged the two cases into one. he has a $100,000 bond c/s (i assume means cash or security) but does not say if he is out on bail. it does say his trial is upcoming on July 27th.

Looks like he entered a plea of not guilty. Bail was set at $100k. I also see this:
7/27/12 @ 9 AM FOR PTC & 7/31/12 @ 9 AM FOR TRIAL

DIMINISHED RESPONSIBILITY AND/OR INSANITY

I listened to the interview and the first quote is taken out of context. She made that statement in part of an explanation of why she doesn't think its anyone in the family who harmed the girls. "It isn't no family" meaning it isn't any family involved in their disappearance.

From the beginning, I've never gotten any impression that family is involved in the disappearance of these girls.

People really need to stop pointing fingers at them, they're already under an incredible amount of stress. Please.

When you say biggest, do you politely mean overweight and/or tall for her
age?

I mean to say that she was nearly 5 feet tall and a sturdy girl. I'm sorry if it was insensitive, that was just the term used when we spoke. I'm an adult and only 5' 2" and she's only 3 inches shorter than I am.

I thought she was 5'2"? Was I mis-remembering or was it updated and I missed it? Sorry if so. That was why her weight never seemed all that 'off' to me. I don't think you were insensitive at all. It's important for people to know the height/weight/build of person they're looking for IMO.
----------
Edited to add apparently I'm blind or the description has changed. I looked again and see it says 4'11" on the missing poster. Sorry!

I believe the transfered means that they have transfered the first stabbing to be merged with the second one. no one was ever arrested for the first one. he just admitted to it after being arrested for the second...but it does say something about mental defect or something.

I'm only a couple of inches taller than her and from her pics, it seems like the weight is probably right. Overweight doesn't necessarily mean out of shape though, especially if she's at that pre-puberty stage. She was riding her bike often and swimming just about daily depending on which stories (including MSM stories) you read. Apparently she could do backflips into the water, so I would think she could get over a fence?
Her BMI is almost 30 which = class I obesity. She, and anyone else, would have been miserably hot riding bikes for 2-3 hours in 90 degree weather last Friday. Although the lake was greenish in color, it might have looked okay to enter for someone that was extremely hot and tired.

I do not see him at all in Iowa Jails per:

http://www.doc.state.ia.us/OffenderInfo.asp#list

So my guess is he is not in jail currently. I think transferred means one case # was transferred into the other case #.

Help me out here, as I'm unfamiliar with jargon, but on iowacourts it says something about his bond and says "released"

Does this mean he's out?

Sorry. He attacked several people in the same vicinity and on the bike trail in March.

I agree, but I believe (in my own opinion) that the biker saw their bikes before 12:30 and they were already gone. I'm not giving any weight to what the neighbor saw, because I'd think there'd be more specifics on his end. I think those poor little girls were gone well before 2. It is HOT here. It was especially hot and humid last Friday, and I can't see how they would've ridden for more than an hour without a break and a drink. Honestly, my kids would stay out all day if I let them, and they came in after 15 minutes for a drink.

Not trying to step on toes...just wondering if he is in custody or not. both attacks he is accused of happened on different Nature Trails in the community. Iowa has for several years been constructing a network of Nature Trails like the one the girls' bikes were found on across the state. Many are connecting from town to town. Those attacks took place on 2 very separate Nature Trails in Waterloo. Waterloo has a very close proximatry to Evansdale. Infact my daughter's BF had ridden his bike from Evansdale to our house in Waterloo via the Nature Trails.

He's 20 years old, so if those are dates they must be a different person. (He was born in 1992)

I don't think those are dates, I copied this directly from his case # under 'criminal charges/disposition'.

ETA: The offense dates are 7/14/11 and 3/19/12

Also, I went and looked up the articles about the man accused with the stabbing. It looks like as of May 24th of this year he was still awaiting trail with a potential to serve 10 years, so I'm assuming he's in custody and therefore not related to this tragedy.
http://wcfcourier.com/news/local/se...cle_8ddb2040-a5ee-11e1-87bf-0019bb2963f4.html

I wonder if she was bullied. So many times being a sturdy or the biggest girl in class will be a target. If so, could this be a factor?

I still believe it was someone she or they both knew. There was no struggle and no evidence of foul play(blood) left. Surely if there was blood found on the bikes, LE would not hold that back. I think they were taken closer to the home and the bike ditched there, or someone was in waiting in the thickets and took them there by gate. imo
