while the family may have plenty o laundry.. I don't see that fitting into this tight time frame when they supposedly took off on an impromptu bike ride and were going to be right back.

I think what happened is the monster in our dreams..

That is just my opinion..

I missed the details, but it seems the relative being interviewed on JVM just said there have been charges against DM for abusing Misti. Didn't get details though. No wonder DM is getting defensive.

I wonder if Jim Spellman got any of this info during his phone call with Daniel today.

I'm sure he already knew. Easy to find.

The children missing have nothing to do with the fact that the father is a drug addict or owing money to anyone. If anything this guy made money from making and selling meth. IMO

Her BMI is almost 30 which = class I obesity. She, and anyone else, would have been miserably hot riding bikes for 2-3 hours in 90 degree weather last Friday. Although the lake was greenish in color, it might have looked okay to enter for someone that was extremely hot and tired.

If you consider that most BMI charts are based on simple formulas of height and weight - they are simply the AVERAGE BMI of a person of that height and weight - you have to consider that she may not be average - she may have a higher percentage of muscle than other kids that size and not be obese. She may well be a well muscled kid, strong, and healthy, despite being a little overweight.

this was a crime of opportunity...is that what your saying?

So at least the father of one of these girls knows some pretty shady people.

I think it is..

yes..

not related to family and a random grab.

It is just my gut feeling right now.:moo:

Didn't someone go out to check out some vultures yesterday?

On one hand I'm wondering if Lyric was not allowed to have contact with her father and he was the one that orchestrated some "reunion" to meet at this secluded spot at the Lake. Would explain why they went "that far" although the family says they would never go there on their own. Something happened, Dad high on meth, had a drug buddy with him (sweet Shaniya comes to mind).....

On the other hand, if he's been cleared by alibi/ witnesses that place him elsewhere etc...I hope LE doesn't focus on him because of his past/present. Granted he's a<Mod Snip> and apparently so was the Mom, which would def explain the lack of supervision, but it doesn't mean that his daughter doesn't deserve the same time/effort looking elsewhere.

again, what I just posted is just my opinion like anyone elses.. just an opinion...

Maybe he was selling meth to somebody who "had their eye on Lyric"? And maybe this person had been grooming Lyric for awhile.

I am actually surprise it took that long for all that info to come out!

From the looks of him(a little heavy)he may not be doing much meth while waiting to go to trial.

Steroids would prevent losing so much weight. Not saying that's what is going on, but if so, his heart IS a ticking time bomb.

Are Misti and Dan Morrissey married to each other at this time or is he married to someone else (he mentioned a wife one night on TV)?

Aunt Tammy on the JVM show just said that Dan and Misty have been separated for some time due to his meth addiction

I think JVM read my post and picked her questions from it! LOL

My thoughts change every day and today I am leaning more towards LCM being groomed and there was a meeting planned and it may be related to some shady characters that know the parents. Just moo and I have been wavering and blowing around more than old Glory in a gale force wind.

I find it really hard to imagine some creep seeing these girls in the park and deciding he wanted them, sneaks into the bushes to lure them in.

  • #678
Sister said something about DM having worked out a plea deal. Anyone get those details?

Tammy said the dogs immediately went straight to the bikes (separately) then right into that wooded area...
she also mentioned one of the dogs going to the rocks by the lake, did someone else understand that portion of her statement?

I heard that too and found it confusing. They played a tape of Misti saying the dogs went down to the rocks by the lake. The aunt on JVM tonight clearly said the dogs followed the girls scent from the bikes into the woods. Anybody know which it was?

Also I was at work & couldn't watch the 4:00 update. Apparently the LE speaker (Abben?) said when he saw the bike they were leaning against the fence. I was under the impression the bikes were lying down in the middle of the bike path. Can anyone clarify that for me?

TIA

So many kids drown, so that in most missing child cases it's standard to check out all nearby waterways asap. With the heat and this being a shallow lake, IMO, if the girls were in the lake, they would have surfaced in about 7 days. I'm actually more surprised that the lake is being drained.

It's an Iowa thing. The lake can be drained and if it would give their parents even 0.000001% less doubt, then it should be done if at all possible.

I lived most of my life in Iowa City, which has the Iowa River running through it. I can remember many occasions when the river level was deliberately dropped way, way down so that SAR could check for the bodies of drowning victims.

Iowans hang together.
