Maybe he was selling meth to somebody who "had their eye on Lyric"? And maybe this person had been grooming Lyric for awhile.

This is what I think, too.

IMO, it has nothing to do with the father's clients. It's very possible this maybe a person Lyric has had contact with recently, perhaps the few days before she went missing when they had to call 911 to find her and her other cousin.

Sister said something about DM having worked out a plea deal. Anyone get those details?

I missed that darn it. But, if DM rolled over on someone then I could see that someone wanting to get even or influence what he testifies to in court.

So at least the father of one of these girls knows some pretty shady people.

agree, & just my opinion, may not be the only one

I really hope they are looking at any and all online presence of anyone connected to the girls. Whether activity is recent or in the past...just in case there is a connection/leads

When something happens to two people/children at the same time its common to try and figure out which one may have been the main target and which one just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. From the articles I read it seems like Lyric is believed to be the main target (she may have met someone online, she may have orchestrated a meeting with someone, her parents are drug related, etc...). While I don't disagree with these theories, I'm wondering if anything has been overlooked with Elizabeth. Just thinking....considering that they were actually in Elizabeth's neighborhood (eventhough Waterloo isn't far, and Lyric is around a lot) I'm wondering if she may have been the "target"....by someone she knew...

Just an opinion...dawned on me when a local was mentioning that they new Elizabeth's family but did not know Lyric's.

I find it really hard to imagine some creep seeing these girls in the park and deciding he wanted them, sneaks into the bushes to lure them in.

I agree. If I was a creep, I'd look for 1 kid instead of 2. Much easier. And solo kids are not that difficult to find out on a warm sunny day.

Can boats go on that lake ? Does anybody know ?
Thank you,

while the family may have plenty o laundry.. I don't see that fitting into this tight time frame when they supposedly took off on an impromptu bike ride and were going to be right back.

I think what happened is the monster in our dreams..

That is just my opinion..

I swear I am thinking the same thing and I almost always give the side eye to the family.

In this case, it just ain't fittin'. IMO

mystic, there is a boat dock but from m understanding there are not a lot of boats on the lake (if at all).. I tend to think the most boats this lake has seen are all the kayaks out doing the water searches..

but I am not sure

I asked this a few pgs back-could the girls have gone on a boat-are there houses on this lake-no answer yet! Although last night I think they pulled a boat dock out of the water!

Just finished watching JVM and want to say I truly respect Aunt Tammy. She's an amazing woman and if God forbid something ever happens to me or a family member, I hope one of my family member would step up to the plate and say like it is.

She didn't hide anything. She was up front about everything. Elizabeth and Lyric are very lucky to have her as their auntie. :rose:

If she's reading here, I applaud you. God bless!

I agree, you have to seek out all possibilities, those associated with purchasing drugs from DM and his associates need to be looked at along with all other connections.

People do desperate things associated with the drugs

bbm: I knew it..

they were lured into the woods.. why get off the bikes and go into the woods?

They were lured there imhoo. (and not by anyone related to them.. the timeline is too tight imhoo.. this seems to me to be an impulse grab by someone in the woods at the same time they were there)

Where would someone take them? From the map I don't see that there's a clear way out for a random attack - at least not by the houses.

Well with the speculation about the dogs running to the edge of the lake I was just pondering the girls being lured for a boat ride across the lake and taken from there, I need to look at the google map overview again

Can any of our wonderful locals say if its common to have transients/homeless/drifters in the area? I'd imagine in a town this small...you'd recognize someone who is "out of place" or is it common to have non-residents pass thru frequently?

It would be uncommon in evansdale, not in Waterloo though. If anything, I could imagine a hitchhiker Potentially on the highway but not anyone in town.

Was it mentioned why Misti doesn't have custody?

I've never heard it mentioned in the media but misty also spent time in prison for meth related charges. I'm sure Iowa courts online would have more info but I know lyric was with the Collins for some time and later both children were with grandma.

The children missing have nothing to do with the fact that the father is a drug addict or owing money to anyone. If anything this guy made money from making and selling meth. IMO

It could have something to do with it. If he pissed someone off, owed someone money, or told the police something he shouldn't have. There's no way at this point for us to know. All I know is it doesn't help find the girls to rule out all possibility of it being someone from the family's past or present. Statistically, if they were abducted, it's more likely that it's someone they knew so why not explore all those people.

ita,

I have never had this feeling right off the bat.. my eerie feeling comes from the location and the time frame.

(and now what the family member says about the dogs tracking them into the woods where a car would park)

I think someone parked and was fishing.. they called to the girls (thus the purse over the fence toward the water side).. purse was dropped as they looked and they were then led to the car.

jmhoo right now..

I just wish they would come home right this second safe and sound. My thoughts and prayers are with their families. I just cannot imagine

There are houses on one side of the lake, and the interstate is on the other. I've never seen a boat on the lake. Granted, I've only lived here a year and only drive by it probably 1-3 times a week, I've never seen a boat, and I'm not sure why a boat would go on it, as it isn't very big.

Other locals: Do you think Aunt Tammy may be "off" on her distances? On JVM she'd say "It was about 300 yards that way and then 300-500 yards..." that's 3-5 football fields! I don't really think that area is that big? Am I way off base here? For her to say the dogs ran 300-500 yards into the wooded area seemed really far off to me.

If you consider that most BMI charts are based on simple formulas of height and weight - they are simply the AVERAGE BMI of a person of that height and weight - you have to consider that she may not be average - she may have a higher percentage of muscle than other kids that size and not be obese. She may well be a well muscled kid, strong, and healthy, despite being a little overweight.

Again I say, my DD appears to have about the same build as Lyric but is 5'2" and weighs 125. I truly think the weight listed was a misprint.

I don't know paulette, I guess the same way drove in? (if that scenario did happen) None of it makes sense does it  That location where the bikes was found is so tight with fences, etc and the highway at a standstill with traffic/construction.

It looks like Nancy is not covering the missing children tonight.
