If you google the name, you will see that this screen name admittedly posts when he/she is bored. This person has also posted that he/she lives in Pennsylvania.

Well, I hope LE tracks them down if they are full of crap, LE does something regarding impeding/interfering with a case.

It's strange to me about LE, but I will be shockingly suprised if they find the girls there.
Sorry to be somewhat graphic but after this many days if they were in there due to the nature of decomp. the bodies would have floated to the surface by now, unless they were weighted down even then I don't know if they would stay at the bottom or not because of the gases released in the body.

I think these girls have probably met this person befor, I certainly believe that they were abducted.

I have only read bits a pieces of the last few pages, but I really do not think nor believe that the girls going missing has anything to do with the father's meth background. If the girls were taken (which I think they were) it's a brazen crime, it was done during the day, no one saw anything, and it was two girls (which while it can be done, it would be harder...so I think it was done by someone who had the skill set to do so)...in my humble experience meth addicts, cookers and or sellers (unless dealing with organized crime, which no one has mentioned being a problem in this town/area) are not, well smart enough to pull off a crime this precise and brazen.

This if an abduction was either planned by someone with the skills to pull it off and or a crime of someone who has been doing this for a while and has the skills to pull it off. This is not some druggie crime, it's way too clean for that. IMO

Someone mentioned a person of authority...when I first read there was construction, my first thought was..maybe a construction worker (or even someone just dressed as one) approached the girls, said they couldn't be by the lake for whatever reason...and asked them to come with them.

Who knows, if Lyric had just had the cops called on her, she would be so much more likely to follow any adult who seemed like they could possibly get her into trouble.

Also someone mentioned that maybe Lyric met someone the night the cops were called, she was with her cousin right? You would think if that was the case, that someone (most likely their friends) would have been told. They are young girls, they like to talk! I doubt it would be Lyric who said anything (if that was the case) but the cousin might especially if she was made/kept/asked to stay by Lyric and felt that she was too blame for whatever trouble they got into from their parents.

I got the impression they were describing a "vision". JMO

After reading the comment on the abc news article and seeing 'handyman', I started wondering if any workers have been working at the lot that has the garage and only the foundation of the house? Any construction going on there currently? Anything new in that lot to indicate work is being done now?

I don't know how to paste the map in here. But here are the coordinates:

This is an unfair and untrue interpretation. I cannot speak for Dan and Misti, I don't know them, and I only barely know Drew, have never met Heather that I can recall (although she looks so familiar to me). AFAIK, Drew and Heather have always been active in church. To hear them referencing their faith is nothing new, and from what I've seen/heard the same goes for their children. Dan and Misti, as I understand it, have been more than forthcoming with the problems in their past, recent and distant, and ALL members of both families, by accounts of LE and reporters, has been of cooperation. The only anomaly is when Dan grew tired of being accused and left an interview, from what I understand.

I hate what I've seen meth do to this state. I've been personally affected, with close family and friends having gotten caught in meth's grip. There surely are drug-filled and violent homes in the area, but we read about them, we know about them. You simply cannot keep secrets like that for too long in a town this size, even in Waterloo. I've seen children who've grown up in violent, drug-filled homes, and neither Elizabeth nor Lyric - or any of the other children in the families - displays evidence of such.

For those WS'ers outside of Iowa, here's an article to get an idea of how meth hit Iowa:

http://www.thefix.com/content/how-americas-meth-queen-melted-down?page=all

For anyone who wants an in-depth view, find Methland: The Death and Life of an American Small Town, written by Nick Reding.

I don't see the family's references to their faith in any way fake or insincere. The vast majority of my neighbours are devout Christians. Meaning they go to church every Sunday, they send their kids to Bible camp in the summer (the way this family has done) and they live their faith as best they can.

It was reported today - (I don't remember where) that Lyric was not allowed to hang out with her Dad DM. What does that mean? Especially since her Dad got mad at her for not doing her chores. Does she spend time with him at his house? And Mom has only been out of jail since May?

"Wylma Cook on Wednesday confirmed that Lyric had tried to run away from home several days before the cousins were reported missing. She said Lyric packed a bag after her father got mad at her for not completing her chores."

snip

"Cook-Morrissey in 2003 was sentenced to four years in federal prison on drug charges that involved conspiracy to cook methamphetamine, court records show. After violating her supervised release, a federal version of parole, Cook-Morrissey was sentenced to five more months in federal custody. She was released in May."

No, and I think any work that we'd seen being done was being done so by amateur wannabe homeowners. The building site's been dormant all this year so far, I believe. There's usually a Jeep parked in the driveway, though. I get the impression that someone nearby owns it and keeps an extra vehicle there, maybe.

Her BMI is almost 30 which = class I obesity. She, and anyone else, would have been miserably hot riding bikes for 2-3 hours in 90 degree weather last Friday. Although the lake was greenish in color, it might have looked okay to enter for someone that was extremely hot and tired.

Wow! When I asked the initial question...I did not think it would lead to us catagorizing her into a defunct and not accurate weight system. I must let you now, my older sister was what you would say "obese" of not perfect. She was a ski racer, an equestrian and ran/swan/rode in triathalons. Let me tell you, she even though, no matter what she does, runs 5 miles a day and still is 5'3" and 250 lbs. She is just a big girl. So, from a medical perspective, we can't assume a "BMI" makes someone intolerable to heat. I asked the question more along the line of bullying, low self esteem and dexterity. Not to bash a child over her body type and such. Please be repsectful as the initial poster was just trying to let us know she was a "big girl". Thanks.

Just curious because I don't know - would this change the results or accuracy of a lie detector test?

It is my understanding that a blood draw and urinalysis are part of the procedure of doing a lie detector test.

I hope I am never on national TV under stress because I have a habit of licking my lips when nervous. And no, it's not a result of drug use, it's just something I've always done when nervous.

I saw an odd comment on one of LM's friends accounts, not sure if I can post that?

Ok thanks. I just wondered if there would have been any construction workers or handyman type parked down there working lately which might not stick out of the norm with the neighbors.

I think you can't copy and paste but you can summarize.

I'm in my 30's and nap almost everyday... with a tv on.... and my phone in my hand.
People like this ARE out there, fwiw!

If I don't get my daily nap, later I wake up with my keyboard imprinted on my forehead.

Funny, I hated naps when I was a child. Now, well, let's just say I don't let much get between me and my bed when it is naptime.

Hmm. Mom was released in May. Parole officers will drug test a parolee within 30-45 days of their first meeting and thereafter, test them as necessary or as court ordered. Mom's first scheduled urine drug screen might have occurred in the days immediately before her daughter disappeared. (It's easy to guess what happens with many parolees after this first scheduled urine drug screen.)

Grainne, earlier I posted a link about how "lying eys" and those myths have been proven false. I will postt it again because I think we should all take interviews with a grain of salt before we assume someone appears guilty on tv without considering stress, shock, etc...

I really don't think the parents are involved, but perhaps IF there was a lack of supervision it would put the girls, or one of them anyway, more at risk. I don't know what to think. I hope they find some evidence when they drain the lake.
