1. 5/31 /2012 FOREST CITY, IA - The driver of the van is allegedly trying to lure children into his vehicle by either provoking or scaring them. He was last spotted in front of a residence in Forest City around 2:30 – 3:00 today.

The potential victim who reported the incident was an 8-year-old, white girl who said she was approached by two adults in a black SUV, a police report said. The girl described the driver as a male in his upper 30s to low 40s in age, and a female passenger of the same approximate age with short, curly hair, wearing a yellow shirt.

4. 8/5/2011 SIOUX CITY IA - Sioux City Police are searching for two men who allegedly tried to abduct two children Wednesday afternoon in Riverside.
According to police, at noon two men in a 1990's blue and silver van with weathered paint, approached an 11-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy in the 1100 block of Pacquette Avenue.

6/14/2012 BEDFORD IA, - Police in Bedford are asking for your help in locating a red, 4-door pickup believed to be involved in an alleged abduction attempt. According to Bedford Police Chief Jeremy Holben, the driver of the pickup is wanted for questioning in connection with Wednesday’s incident.
Holben says an “older looking” male tried to entice a child to his vehicle by offering candy. The child’s mother was nearby, and escorted her child away from the scene. Chief Holben says since the man’s intentions are unclear, authorities want to question him about the incident. He was last seen driving the pickup in the 1100 block of Bent Street in Bedford. No other description of the vehicle is available. Anyone with information about this person in-question, is asked to phone the Bedford Police Department at 523-2128.

Douglas County sheriff's officials asked for the public's help to find two people suspected of an attempted child abduction in northwest Omaha.
Chief Deputy Marty Bilek said a man used a ploy common with child predators. Bilek said the fact that two people were involved makes the attempted abduction even more disturbing.

Rockford Police are looking for a suspect that they say attempted to abduct a child Monday afternoon.
A 10-year-old girl was walking down the street in the 1300 block of 31st Street Monday afternoon when she noticed a man following her in a pick-up truck. The man parked the truck and began to follow the girl. She started to run and he continued to follow her all the way to her home.

I did not hear where is. The little girl was not alone she was with a smaller child it apeared to be two girls and the guy just ran up behind her and picked her off her feet and tried to run off . The video did not even show how she got away.

I am so glad she did get away. Suspect is driving a white car. Insane watching how brazen that attempt was.

Not sure how billboards are set up. LE has not ruled this case a kidnapping (yet). Does the family have to get permission to put up billboards from the mayor or government official or LE?

Keep in mind that we're talking about a minimum of 3 different households (the Collins, Misty Cook and her mother Wylma, Dan Morrissey and his mother Vicky Weikert; I may not have all the names spelled correctly). Four if you include sister Tammy.

The person who said her computer had not been used in over a year is Wylma Cook, who looks to be in her late 60s or 70s.

She didn't say none of the family had computers and internet access. Just that her particular computer hasn't been used recently.

Statistically, the age group least likely to use computers are those over 65 years old.

Maybe I don't have a working hinky meter but it just doesn't seem unbelievable to me that someone in her late 60s or 70s wouldn't use a computer.

I don't see the family's references to their faith in any way fake or insincere. The vast majority of my neighbours are devout Christians. Meaning they go to church every Sunday, they send their kids to Bible camp in the summer (the way this family has done) and they live their faith as best they can.

Christians can get caught up in bad things also. This is definitely a situation that could bring God back into the center of their focus instead of the meth. I just watched a show on how horrible, how destructive and how addictive it is. . I see in these two people, possibly regret. They wasted time with a drug instead of being with their daughter. Now she is gone. If it where me, I would be so guilt ridden because of my lack as a parent, or because of the time I didn't spend with her or wasted.

No and yes.

Billboards are strictly regulated in Iowa; for instance, they are forbidden on property zoned as agricultural (except for a small number that were grandfather'd in when the law was made). In that sense, yes, you have to get a permit from the Iowa Department of Transportation to put up the physical structure of a billboard.

The existing billboards are owned by private companies. I believe that free speech would apply to anything that was put on them, so there would be no need to get governmental permission to post a sign subject to the existing laws that limit freedom of speech.

I think the family would want to run the idea by LE; my sense of where they are at this point emotionally is that they are still in the stage where families cling to LE and do everything they are told.

As time goes by, if no answers are found, most families start to move out in their own directions. But I've never seen it happen in the first three months after a disappearance and usually not even in the first six months.

OMG. Both have been incarcerated numerous times during the past years. Misty had cotton mouth and frequent lip licking on her first JVM video.

I retract my previous statement about the cause of her lip licking. Ugh.



It, sadly, appears that you should wonder about mom's polygraph also.

I admit I had not watch the video from JVM before now and MCM does look like she is speedy. To be fair, she may be on some actual meds that cause lip pursing and licking. But in light of her criminal history, it does not look too good.

However, I still don't think she or DM had anything to do with the girls' disappearance. JMHO
