I missed the presser. Is that really what they said? The family's refusal to take a future polygraphs is a distraction? Really?

Whaaaat? What in the world does that mean? Polygraphs are not even reliable. Is there a hidden meaning there? I don't get it. :waitasec:

I think what they meant is that all the media on the lawyering up (which was told to media outlets by Aunt Tammy) is distracting to the investigation.. He further said he had hoped they would cooperate 100 per cent but getting an attorney is their choice.

I don't think it has to do with the reliability of a poly per se.. only that all the hoopla is a distraction to the investigation:moo:

I asked this in the last thread and don't think it was answered: How long would it take to ride your bike all the way around the lake? How long would it take to walk all the way around? (Sorry if I missed it.)

If Aunt TB and Grandma WC got to the lake (main entrance, parking lot) at 2:45 and started talking to people - couldn't they have walked around the entire lake and found the bikes before they were actually found by LE at 4?

It has been said that Heather went into the PD and reported the girls missing at 2:45. It was also said by Aunt TB police swarmed the lake at 3. Why did LE swarm the lake within 15 minutes of reporting these girls? That seems awful fast for me.

Maybe it's just me and I understand the focus being on Lyric's parents because of their criminal background but what about Elizabeth's family? I don't mean sleuthing them but what about their friends/acquaintances? Did Elizabeth's parents take polygraphs?

Been following this case closely, first time commenting.

While I find the behavior of the parents somewhat odd , I'm thinking if one of them were going to harm the children it would not have been done in broad daylight while they are at grandmas with numerous other children. They would have other opportunities where they could get them alone and have time to get rid of the evidence.

I am still catching up but lets face it Lyric's parents may have known some not so nice people. Maybe they are not focusing on them but rather people they know/knew?

I think they may still be at the lake because they are looking for evidence.

I missed the part about the parents being 'harassed'...I don't think LE just wants to charge someone so they can get it over with. Why would they do that? They want to catch the person who did this and find these girls.

Who said LE thinks Dan did it? LE never said that did they?

As to why Lyric's parents felt harassed: according to Tammy Brousseau, among other things the FBI went hammering on their motel room door when they were trying to sleep (in other words, in the middle of the night).

Also according to Tammy Brousseau, Dan Morrissey was accused of killing the two girls by LE during an interrogation.

My big thing with this is there could be a false guilty reading with Dad. It is possible...I am in no way judging anyone, I want to keep the focus on the girls...that maybe Dad, who was "taking a nap" at that time, was really smoking pot, drinking or doing meth or what not. That in itself is not relevant, other than it would be a parole violation and orginally he didn't fess up, so if he had a poly and said, I was taking a nap...it would come up as a lie, when really, he made the statement more to cover up doing something that is a parole violation, but has no real relevence to the missing girls. Hence the lawyer, too.
