Misty's first poly was inconclusive. Hmmm. Inconclusive or indicative of deception ? Has the family or LE commented directly on the results of polys taken by other friends and family members ?

During the Kyron Horman case both sets of parents (bio and step) took polys, more than once (iirc). Pressers were held frequently, giving family and LE the opportunity to disclose the results of the tests, which they did.

I have never heard LE comment in a PC on any poly given or the results before a case is solved.

They dont discuss it even if the person(s) passed.

imo

When she mentioned the man who saw the bikes - she said he regularly walks around the lake and didn't think he had any info they would need because he didn't see the girls - but he did see the bikes. Is this the same guy who regularly bikes around the lake? Because he did contact them thinking that info was pertinent.

I think it was another person. Perhaps the walker saw the bikes in a different place.

They know so much more than they are telling us. I think they are pretty close.

Lots of double talk going on, imo. First they have suspects, then they have no suspects. They have evidence to believe the girls are alive but don't assume we know what you know. Covering their bases, I suppose.

My opinion - for the FBI to TELL US they believe the girls are alive means they absolutely know they are, and that telling us that will not endanger them. That leads me to believe the girls are safe somewhere, perhaps in protective custody, and they are trying to track and nail down the case against all of those who caused this event to occur.

I think you may be on to something.

Ok so this was pretty direct-they better have very, very, very good evidence they are alive right now because otherwise it is very cruel to word it that way without it.

So if there was a possible raid at a house today - wonder who is new in jail? Guess I will go look at that. Didn't someone ask if there have been any arrests in the case so far? What was her answer?

The raid observed by neighbors is what may have spurred the rumor to fly last night that the girls were found alive.

9 days after the abduction they ask for people to come forward if they were at the lake on the 13th. Just sloppy police work going on here.

That does seem to be coming forth a little late. They should have said that the first day they went missing, imo.

So they do think they were abducted from the area where their bikes were found and not some place else.

IMO

Just because Grandma uses the word "suspects" does not mean there are "suspects". The word "suspects needs to come out of the mouths of LE and so far they only used "talking to persons of interest."

well, if there really was a raid there may be all sorts of folks packed into the pd that they didnt want involved with the presser or even hearing it?? who knows at this point, i dont know what to think about this case...

Excellent post Nellie! Good point!

1. Why did Elizabeth take the inactive phone on a bikeride ?

My best guess = so that she could play games on the phone. But, phone games are a solitary thing. So, if Elizabeth planned to play games by herself, what would Lyric have been doing at that time ?

2. We have been told that the girls did not usually leave the block when the were out. Also, a couple who live nearby said that they saw Elizabeth often, but that she would turn around on their block, and head back home usually. Also, it was said that they were not usually gone for more that a half hour or so.

So, if this was the case, and they were just out for a bikeride, why would Elizabeth have taken the purse at all ?

I think this was some kind of meetup. Planned somehow. JMO

Not saying this is true of Elizabeth, but it is a status thing with some kids. When we give our yearly state-mandated academic tests, we have to take up the students' cell phones before the test starts each day for 5 days. I walk the rows in my classroom and have the students put their cell phones in a basket which I keep until testing is over for the day. Each year I have had students put an obviously nonworking cell in the basket. I think they just want everyone else to think they have one too.

My impression is that the girls headed outside at 11:30 am on a nice day, with nothing in particular in mind other than "playing outside." So she grabbed her purse in case she wanted to play games.

I know I did a lot of that when I was a child. Went outside with no real purpose or plan and just did whatever occurred to me once I was out there.

I also came from the generation where moms told their children "It's a nice day, go outside and play until dinner!" We were expected to play, join the local kid pack or roam at will within our mom's boundaries.

It's certainly crossed my mind, too!

And you know Patty, those who do not keep up with cases like we do here, if they hear LE tell them they have a couple of POI's, often that person will interpret it to mean suspects. I believe if I were in Grandma's situation I would too. They may even be saying suspects to the family but using POI's publically.

I don't know if my computer is messed up or what. I just went and looked to see who was in jail. Today there was a booking--There is no name listed and the charges are not listed. It just gives the date, time and says no bond hold. I thought it was odd.

So for nine long days they focused on the lake and the parents of Lyric? Weren't they stopping vehicles & looking in the trunks? But now they're asking for the public not to assume they know what "you" know??? I agree with the poster who said it feels like Satsuma all over again. I'm sure they were behind the scenes doing other investigations, but good golly miss molly - Nine days later you want the public to help? I can't even remember what I ate nine days ago let alone who I saw..... too little too late I do believe. :moo::moo::moo:

First they should have asked for people who were at the lake to contact the police on day 1 at the very first presser. Second they should have been searching cars at road blocks on the highway on day 1 not 1 week later. Like I said previously I am almost never ever doubtful of LE, but in this case I am.

I do think LE is giving false hopes to the family and general public in this case. I think the local LE wants so bad to believe that this is not a real abduction that their little town is a safe one. I know FBI is saying the same thing but they may just be repeating what local LE is telling them. I feel they have nothing. I could very well be wrong, but this case is so sad and frustrating to me I am going to have to step away awhile and not post, I think.
