Maybe the man opened the door of his van to get his laundry out...it was in front of a laundromat. I don't think it can be assumed his intent was to abduct the girl.

It sure sounds like it to me. Why would a strange man be touching the face of a 11 year old child he doesnt even know. There was no mention about him getting laundry out of the van when he slid the door back.

This had to be truly terrifying for this girl.

It was like he was coaxing her to feel at ease so he could get her in the van and why would he pull up on the wrong side of the road if he was going to do his laundry?

Evidently he didn't hear the message come in and only saw it there after she went missing. Every day at some point I say to husband "your phone is ringing" . He can't hear it when its in his pocket.

I’m going to get a T-shirt made up that says: Your phone is ringing, your text message thingy is dinging away and your left-turn signal has been clicking for the past 12 miles, honey bunch.

Drew looks totally done in, I can understand how he might have missed an old or archived voice message.

I find it odd that the paddle boat person hasn't come forward as I would be surprised if they are not aware of the girls missing and now they are asking for the person to come forward. I imagine it is not going to be too hard for LE to find this boat and hopefully the person using it that day. If the girls were abducted this way, I bet it will be a first.

Okay, I am just a cynic. But it never fails that when something like this happens (kids go missing) other attempted abductions are reported within days...JMO

I am a little alarmed that the paddleboat person has not come forth in 12 days with this being such a big case there.

Why wouldnt they?

I noticed in the GMA video that the lake is sort of narrow and it wouldnt take that long to get to shore.

It seems now that LE is very interested in finding this person.

we had an experience with our 4 seat paddleboat with the rudder, and went to circles til we figured it out........LOL.

lol, my hubby and I got a good laugh from that. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out. I have been going on paddle boats since I was quite young. I think I liked them better when ma and pa were doing all the work and I was just sitting there enjoying the ride. lol The two seater ones are much easier to manage. Though after that experience with my daughter, I will not go on one again - it was a nightmare.

Hope I do this right. Transcript also contains info on the time frame of the family search, according to Aunt Tammy.

We pulled into Meyers Lake, right about where Jim and I are standing. And I got up and just jumped out and started asking random people, Have you seen two little girls, one on a mountain bike, you know, gave the complete descriptions of them. And a man -- they have his name. I don`t know who he is. He said to me, Yes, I seen two little girls going west on the bike trail.

And as you can see, it`s a small lake. It`s not a huge lake. So the bike trail wraps around and then comes back east, and that`s where the bikes were, in fact, found.

BBM Yet again I will state that I find it strange the family did not yell for the girls nor did they walk around the 'small lake' to look for them. If LE were notified at 3 then an hour went by before first responders found the bikes while the family sat in the parking lot. STRANGE. IMO

Wasn't it Tammy that said to Grandma take me to Meyers lake? But then never checked the bike trail , knowing the girls were on bikes?

I dunno...given the timeframe, the timeline, and the fact that there apparently were a few ppl out by the lake noticing things, that if a paddleboater were mentioned, and suspicious, that we wouldn't be hearing LE asking 10 days later if anyone knows about one being on the lake. They were ready to drain the lake, ffs, why couldn't they hit every house with lake access? That would literally take all of half a day.

Maybe no one reported seeing a paddle boat but evidence found in the lake points to one being there (the brick with floating rope)? Nevermind - LE would have no way of knowing when the boat was on the lake.

Also didn't LE take everyone's cell phones at the beginning or was it just Lyrics parents cell phones ?

I have not had the opportunity to read and see all news on this case so I am not sure, with that said to me it would appear that the parents with the record became the focus for that reason. Time will tell I hope, but something is weird with this one for me anyway. I have to go read articles from the beginning.

Where the girls seen on the bikes, or is that the conclusion because the bikes were gone?

It amazes me that the creeps always seem to drive white vans. Maybe because white vans are one of the most common colors in work vans and they think they will blend in.

But the same thing happened locally to another child. He was 8 years old and walking home from school which was two blocks away. He noticed when he came out the door that the white van was sitting across from the school. He didnt think anything of it but as he began his route home the van pulled up beside him and the man tried to pull him into his van.

The man was white and in his 40s. The mother was waiting for the child in the yard and she saw the entire thing. She ran up to the van..grabbed her son, and cussed the man out. She remembered his tag number and called the police and later it was found out he was a RSO from another state and he had tried to abduct children in three different states. LE could never find a reason for him to be in our state. He had no family, friends here or work.

While stranger pedophiles may not be successful all the time when attempting to abduct children they darn sure try to on a daily basis it seems all across the country.

Their grandma seen them on bikes and they were seen on camera riding them.

The paddle boat witness is an enigma. Usually they are at public lakes where you can rent them or private lakes where people leave them. How would you transport it? Pickup truck or trailer? It seems odd that someone would trailer one up and drive to the lake and not be simeone who did it often and would therefore be known to the locals. In the middle of a hot sunny day you think more people would have noticed this. Who just drives around with a paddleboat looking for a lake? If the paddleboat was used as a lure it would have to be a multi-person abduction. Someone distracting the girls with the boat, they drop their bikes, someone tells them to leave their purses behind the fence if they want to go for a ride, they get near the fence, an accomplice waiting behind the fence grabs them and makes an escape on the highway. The paddleboat guy never has to be more than a distraction, he just goes about paddling while someone else grabs them on the highway side of the fence.

The brick and rope were found in another body of water, not in Myers Lake. This was found during the initial search with volunteers.
