In Australia, these days, they won't even let you change kitty litter without a clearance. True story.

Kinda sad really. :(

Just when you think there is some tried and true rule, it's broken.

It really depends on what area you are in. There are some places where they'll take anyone off the street to help, don't keep track of names or anything. Some will take volunteers but record DL, etc.. Other places only use volunteers who have gone through training and have been screened. And then there are places where they only use LE.

Grandma may not have know what the kids were really doing. Mine (who lived in the house with us) certainly didn't, but probably thought she did.

If LE are leaving no stone unturned, then I would think they took DC's cell as well..? Seems LE would have found the vm she left and may have mentioned it to him?

That's EXACTLY why I think that HE hadn't heard it yet. I'm sure LE had heard it days earlier, though. They just (IMHO) probably took that long to let HIM hear it for the first time.

JMO, naturally.

I bet there's loads of good ole boy situations too, where people are unofficially deputised whether they know it or not because they went to school with the sherrif :) I'm not talking about close communities like these. This particular community seems fairly fragmented, for some reason (maybe the perceived/actual meth culture? maybe they are mostly elderly and inactive?), people keep to themselves. For example, if two childen went missing here (and we do have a very similar sized lake with very similar houses, pontoons etc) it would be lined with signs and flyers and ribbons, there would be weekend canoe events to raise awareness/money, organised walks, runs, balloon releases, fundraisers, you get the picture. Much more community involvement and concern than I've seen from this particular lakeside community...for whatever reason, not criticising, just noting.

:moo:

No news to report on the girls. However, today is the last scheduled daily 4pm briefing. They will break in with updates if and when they are available... per presser.
