When I first watched it I noticed her eyes and thought maybe they looked like that from crying or lack of sleep. It does look like her right eye (our left) may be a little dark - but I think it is just a shadow. Not sure.

I see how it could be viewed as a black eye but it also looks like mine can after a serious lack of sleep and/or in bad light. IMO if it is/was a black eye it's faint and already pretty well on the way to healing. I think it would've looked much worse a day or two before, unlikely to have been missed since she's been seen and on TV etc. so much.

My original post.......

Quote:

PADdleboater .... They did say they found the people with the paddleboat on the KWWL news, but they said someone had used thier paddleboat!

End quote.

Please understand this was not reported in MSM. Just someone repeating something they read. Still hoping someone can tell us if KWWL really said this.

Appreciate you reporting this and telling us it wasnt from MSM. :seeya:

I can tell you that it is VERY inaccurate, especially for sleuthing. It list my house as being occupied by 4 people. Me in my current name. My Mom who has never lived here. Me, in my maiden name which I don't ever use, and last, but not least, my ex-husband who has never been to this house and in fact doesn't even know where it is. We were divorced years before I bought this place. So it is definitely misleading!

I checked my address. It showed my neighbor was an RSO. After researching, I found it was a man with the same first and last (not middle) name as my neighbor. The real RSO lives over 400 miles away in another city. But they show my neighbor as the RSO. That's terrible.

You know what makes me sad? I grew up in Bay Village, Ohio, and was around the same age as Amy Mihaljevic. She was the first kidnapping case that really touched my life. We were all terrified and our parents kept a very close watch on us after that. I feel like, if we had had the Internet back then -- we probably would have been better able to solve her murder. Forums like this, along with social media, online crime databases and court records, and the ability to easily search news stories and re-watch videos has to make crime solving SO MUCH easier. I wish we had it back then. For Amy. :-(

Bummer! Oh well, but thanks to you and others for letting me know. I do think it's correct on my totally off topic story about the people who originally built our house because the first names and ages are right, but it's helpful to know it's not that accurate for sleuthing purposes.

Interesting. It shows the house next to me is worth a million bucks. It is new and nice, but it is actually worth less than 200,000.

So at this point we know they are in the process of requesting/ receiving the ATM footage from First Liberty bank based on the subpoena yesterday. And we know there's no more scheduled news conferences... so, me being impatient as all heck, would like to know when/where/how can I find out what's up with the footage they're going to get from the ATM?

I would say they want to have video footage of whoever is withdrawing money.

That is an unconfirmed rumor. We don't know who these people are or if they really exist. (I think. Could be wrong.)

I still think the whole paddle boat thing is a shiny object. ("Hey, (insert name of your favorite real suspect), we aren't onto you. Nope! We're looking for a paddle boat....")

Agree in part. No way the girls were taken via a paddle boat. That would be comedic.

I think it's as simple as LE knows a paddle boat was on the lake that day and they want to interview the boater to see what they did or did not see.

We don't know that they were taken against their will. They could have gone willingly, my concern is the dogs never tracked to the paddle boat.

Maybe they didnt have the kind of dogs that tracks scents on water like they did in Laci Peterson's case?

imo

Concerns are still running high thirteen days after two Black Hawk County girls went missing.

"We always think about it, whenever we see a situation like that. Does it cause us to increase our training? Absolutely. We're going to sit and say in that particular scenario, 'Is this something we could teach that maybe we missed or the kids should be aware of?'” said Cedar Rapids Karate Institute Head Master Tim Taylor.

Here is what I am seeing as far as the *rumor* about the paddle boat on the facebook page. It is under the post titled "Blockbuster".

FACT : The paddle boats in question were already taken in for evidence. It wasn't the owners of the paddleboats that they were curious about, it was person using it. The owners called the tip line because they "BELIEVED" the paddle boat had been used. Not sure if they weren't home, don't live there, or if there was "evidence" on the boat....but the family that owned the boat was already cleared. They did the right thing by calling in the tip.

OMG that's awful, your poor neighbor! Thankfully(?) for him I don't get the impression that a ton of people use the site but wow. Won't be using that one for anymore sleuthing for sure.

Has there been any truly new news on the girls? I can't seem to find any and I just keep hoping.

Do we know who owns the paddle boat and where it is kept? It is possible the girls took it out for a ride? Didn't the owners say it had been used but they hadn't used it?

There is a very nice looking home right at the north part of the lake beside the parking lot to the park area. It sits right at the end of Lake Shore Place and seems to have it's own dock. In the google map image it actually looks like a paddleboat on the dock.

If any of the homes around there have problems with people accessing their property and perhaps taking a paddleboat out for a spin (if they even have one) I'd opt for this house. I believe the edge of their property was actually in one of Ollipops pictures. Very open access for anyone it seems.

So if some teen went on private property and took someone's paddleboat for a spin that day, it's going to be highly unlikely that the FBI are going to hear from him IMO.

Using google maps I have only identified what I think could be one paddle boat in view on Meyers lake - 3 screen shots with each one getting closer. Or maybe this isn't even a paddle boat?

I think it is very possible they were approached by someone they knew in a paddle boat while they were at the jetty/gate area. They lay their bikes down, go thru the unlocked gate, set the purse down, hop in the paddle boat and go back to the house the boat came from - get into a car and disappear. Here is my map I posted previously. MOO

I think it's been posted much earlier today that the ATM is very close to the grandma's house, so probably LE wants to see if the camera recorded the two girls riding by on their bikes. JMO.

If you go to bing.com maps you can see two - one up by the canal and one yellow one next to the house we think might be W's. The bing maps look like they were taken in the fall so there are not a lot of leaves and you can see things better.

I was not familiar with that case so I checked the net and was shocked to see how she was abducted. The abductor had contacted Mihaljevic by telephone and arranged to meet her on the pretext of buying a gift for her mother because she had recently been promoted, as he told her.

Maybe someday Amy will receive justice.
