Using google maps I have only identified what I think could be one paddle boat in view on Meyers lake - 3 screen shots with each one getting closer. Or maybe this isn't even a paddle boat?

Good job!! Looks like a paddle boat to me!!

That is an unconfirmed rumor. We don't know who these people are or if they really exist. (I think. Could be wrong.)

I still think the whole paddle boat thing is a shiny object. ("Hey, (insert name of your favorite real suspect), we aren't onto you. Nope! We're looking for a paddle boat....")

BBM

May I ask why you think that? I could understand if only one person said they saw a paddleboat in the water about the time they went missing but it seems several people have told LE the same thing.

When LE asks for the public's assistance they are genuinely wanting those people to come forth and they have not done so if you discount the rumor that they have and said it was used but not by them.

I certainly want to know who was on that paddleboat. I am not one of the ones that doesnt think the children could have been abducted that way. Since no one knows how they were abducted I dont discount any possibility.

A lot of girls this age are very trusting whether their parents have taught them stranger danger or not. Or if they knew the person(s) I do believe they would jump in to ride around on a paddleboat. Pedos can come up with all sorts of things to say to children to coax them into doing what they want. They are good at it and getting the child to feel at ease. I think they could have seen the girls alone and asked them did they want to ride and they may have. It wouldnt take long to reach the other side of this narrow lake. From what I have read here there is a way to get through the woods to the lake where a vehicle wouldnt be seen. Once on the other side they could have told them to jump in the truck and they would bring them back around to where they had left their bikes and once inside the vehicle they would be trapped.

Until we know who took these girls and how I am keeping all avenues open.

That's the house I'm referring to elepher. I also think that looks like a paddleboat on the dock. Nice place. Lots of property. But I knew someone who had a home on a lake next to a public access beach. It was a nightmare with people (usually teenagers) on their property, using their lawn chairs, dock and anything else that was left out when they weren't home.

I think it is very possible they were approached by someone they knew in a paddle boat while they were at the jetty/gate area. They lay their bikes down, go thru the unlocked gate, set the purse down, hop in the paddle boat and go back to the house the boat came from - get into a car and disappear. Here is my map I posted previously. MOO

I think it's been posted much earlier today that the ATM is very close to the grandma's house, so probably LE wants to see if the camera recorded the two girls riding by on their bikes. JMO.

Also, coincidentally, the ATM is at the same bank at which the fund was set up to donate to the families.

You know what makes me sad? I grew up in Bay Village, Ohio, and was around the same age as Amy Mihaljevic. She was the first kidnapping case that really touched my life. We were all terrified and our parents kept a very close watch on us after that. I feel like, if we had had the Internet back then -- we probably would have been better able to solve her murder. Forums like this, along with social media, online crime databases and court records, and the ability to easily search news stories and re-watch videos has to make crime solving SO MUCH easier. I wish we had it back then. For Amy. :-(

But we have cases like Hailey, Isabel, Kyron, Lindsay, Holly, Lauren, Haleigh, Lyric, Elizabeth, Lisa, Sky, the McStay Family, Michelle, Robyn, Aliayah, Jhessye, that remain unsolved despite happening in the Internet Age. There are 836 threads in the "Missing" forum, which are cases from 2010-2012. The "Missing But Not Forgotten" discussion forum has cases from 2000-2009, and there are 5871 threads.

If several people saw someone in a paddleboat on the lake then it stands to reason that at least one of them would have noticed two young girls in it as well. There is usually a lot of noise from people getting into and out of those things, especially when you are trying to do it from shore with your shoes and clothes on instead of just jumping in with a bathing suit on and not caring if you got wet. And all noise would travel easily across what appears to be a small, still lake.

Is it possible the girls took the boat out for a spin? Just wondering, no idea how large one has to be to operate one...

And all of the missing minors arent even on here. There is no way we can keep up with them all.

Criminals are getting smarter. I have read that only around 64% of cases are solved.

I've been following missing children cases since I was young. Cherrie Mahan disappeared in '85, when I was in 5th grade. Her picture was all over our local news and I can still remember her face to this day. Almost 30 years later, she still comes to mind when I hear a child has been abducted.

If Aunt T taught the girls about stranger danger as she said she did, I am leaning so much towards familiar perp. Not necessarily family or close family friend...but someone familiar. Two girls going willingly. Purse left behind, but not thrown. No screams heard. I may be wrong, but I feel as though the girls were thinking they would be back to pick up their belongings. MOO

OMG that's awful, your poor neighbor! Thankfully(?) for him I don't get the impression that a ton of people use the site but wow. Won't be using that one for anymore sleuthing for sure.

Has there been any truly new news on the girls? I can't seem to find any and I just keep hoping.

I'm trying to catch up myself, but it doesn't appear there's anything really new in the last day or so.

I so hope they find these girls ok.

Fair points. I guess it's a combination of a gut feeling and the fact that I think a paddle boat would be the last thing a kidnapper would use. First, it is way too visible. Everyone on any side of the lake who was running, biking, picnicking, looking out their window, would have seen it. Not ideal if you are trying to kidnap kids. Second, if anyone saw him on the lake, and thought it was suspicious, he is a sitting duck. There would be no escape. The authorities would be there to arrest him by the time he got back to shore. I just don't see it.

I thought that too!! That they new the boater, but than in video it shows them going opposite way of lake in one article. And grandma says they had no time to get there in that amount of time. I did kind of get lost reading all this cause i got off track.

I dont know but in so many cases the victim(s) are never noticed. Maybe the witnesses just didnt look up at that particular time in order to see the girls when they were on the boat.

I hope the witnesses were able to give a good decription of the person or persons on the paddleboat.

Imo, one thing is for certain........this is a high profile case and especially in that area so why arent the people coming forward to LE? That is the main concern I have.

I'm still wondering if looking for the paddleboater is to corroborate the info gotten from the ....non-existent witness/tip giver/don't know who you are talking about stop asking me about him..person they don't know about. MOO Or, whether someone we don't know about said they saw kids on a paddleboat in the area...or maybe they saw tracks on the shoreline near the purse that looked like a paddleboat had been dragged up on shore. Ferry ride? doublemoo

So how old are these people. This is the "Aunt" right?? Grandma looks older than I expected, and this puts TB at about 36 at least. No big deal, but this is just getting stranger.

That's a persistence to get to the jail though. Wow.

Grandma seems to me like she's aged about 10 years between the first pics and now, so I'm thinking it's a lot of stress getting to her.

Ugh. I don't know if that made me feel better, or worse. But thank you. Just being here with you all and knowing that people care has made me feel like the world has more good people than bad. I still hug my daughter extra tight these days, but finding Websleuths has made me a bit less nervous.

Here is a bing map facing south. You can really zoom around and look at everything.

The house highlighted yellow is for sale.

ETA: See my next post. This map didn't come out with my stuff marked on it.

If the owners of the boat are the ones who noticed it had been used, for instance, perhaps no one saw anyone actually in it?
