On the way to work yesterday, I filled up at the Casey's on River Forest...clerk there and I chatted.

Several days ago, in the first week after the girls were missing, he'd mentioned that Misty had come in to apply for a job, and ended up working at another Casey's nearby...he thought it was the one in Elk Run...I still don't know, don't think it matters.

Then yesterday, he said the FBI had been in earlier in the day, and had gotten all the cash receipts for the last few weeks.

Cash receipts?? I wonder what info could be gathered from cash receipts?:waitasec:

Are you theorizing they actually went missing the first time and never reappeared..that the rest is made up or staged?

Heather would have had a cow if that were the case....hmmm

IIRC... I think it was Lyric and a different cousin. Heather might've still had a cow because she loved/loves Lyric and her other niece (assuming that's what the relationship w/other cousin would be) but nowhere near the same as her daughter being missing IMO.

The only thing I can think of is that if the description of the bikes and exact clothing were released, a perp could make up having seen them elsewhere using that description and throw off the trail. Moo

Good thought, but the perp would know. Could be to prevent someone using it in a false confession.

Possibly if the girls bought something and it was in their purse, using it for timestamping?

I could have sworn that Grandma was quoted as saying in one the earlier links "that JC had been battling substance abuse & was unable to eat or sleep since the disappearance of his nieces two weeks ago". It almost read like she was saying the girls disappearance was what caused the substance abuse.

I think enabling & denial gallops rapidly in this family as well.

Perhaps it was a misquote or the reporter worded it incorrectly. I have searched for the article to give the link but cannot find it. I deleted my cache on my laptop so I can't search in my history either. :pcguru:

BBM

I remember reading something like that also. I thought maybe she meant he relapsed because of the stress. ???

snipped from link:

“They were the only two people to go by on bikes that day to my knowledge,” said Joe Pahl, who alerted police about the video July 16. “I’ve watched it.”

******
This is the link I promised earlier.

No other kids on bikes? Also, did they only pass the camera once that day? Sounds like it.

If there were no other kids riding around, and that was the only time the girls rode by, I wonder where the girls were hanging out the rest of the time. Especially if they really did first leave on their ride at 11:30.

I Know, I know, the timeline was changed and Grandma and Auntie are saying the girls really left later than that, but I am stuck on Grandma's first version.

Respectfully,But, we really don't know this as fact, do we? This is your opinion of her and you most likely do not know her personally. What I am saying is a possible scenario could include family members if they had group guilt over something that may have happened with/to the girls. I cannot get over the unlikelihood that the same girl (Lyric) would "disappear" for a time just 4 days prior. Without much else to go on, I am going by statistics.
What if Lyric missing a few days before were a "practice run" with another cousin who knew nothing of the plan. Maybe for MC and dad to see if they could really pull off the emotions? Just thinking...

Probably to see if cash deposits match the cash receipts. Kinda why I was asking if Misty made deposits for Casey's.

In reference to #3, there was an article a few days ago about Elizabeth's softball team. IIRC, her teammates and/or coach said they had last seen Elizabeth at a softball game at 9:00 the night before she disappeared.

Would you happen to know of a link to this statement and if it had been verified by LE. If this is true at least we can know that Elizabeth was safe the night before. I have not or heard this statement.

Receipt for the purchase of 3 amps??? I don't know - and yes I know I have a fixation with those 3 cans sitting there.

Maybe they want to see who has been hanging out in the area and when.

Thinking outside the box here again. Was thinking that maybe the reason the FBI came in looking for receipts could be for these reasons.
They feel the kids are near this area and this is the closest store around, someone is feeding them? They also know from family what the kids like for treats. Looking for credit cards with certain names. This is IF LE is right and the girls are alive.

But this isn't the Casey's that Misty works in, correct? [ I am so confused, so who knows.]

Also...just now, within the last 5-10 mins, a co-worker messaged me on FB...he says that Wed about 1pm, while I was out of town, he was sittin in his house in W'loo, looked outside the window and saw cops everywhere, and suddenly they pounded on his door. They were swarming canvassing his neighborhood with respect to the missing girls. He says they weren't searching homes, just questioning anyone they saw, stopping cars, knocking on doors. They didn't enter his home, just asked where he worked, how often, and who else lived there. It was a bunch of cops in polos, mostly DCI, there were police vehicles roaming around, etc. They knocked on every door down his street. He lives between Randolph and Wellington on W 7th in W'loo, several miles from the lake. I have yet to be visited by any LE, and I live essentially across the street from the lake.

Maybe they are looking at all stores in the area for who bought 3 energy drinks that day?

I really want to believe the girls are alive. The trouble with that is knowing that someone has to have them hidden and be caring for them and that would not be easy to pull off with all the publicity. I am not saying it isn't impossible as we all know of cases where this did occur. I am still leaning towards statistics.

She does not work at this Casey's.

snipped:

The last time the girls and coaches saw Elizabeth was on the same field, the night before she and Lyric went missing.
"We had just been with her until 9:00 Thursday night. So to find out she was gone that fast, it was hard," said assistant coach Sarah Lang.
