We all want these girls home in time for little angelface's (Elizabeth's) birthday.
We need good solid police work to accomplish this.

I miss the daily updates, wish that continued.

Exactly what did Dan need to accomplish before he was “prepared to go to jail”?

He turned down a really good plea deal for 5 years because “he wasn’t prepared to go to jail” and now he will likely spend 45 years in jail? Huh?

I agree, That's some strange wording........
prepared to go to jail.
Preparing how, spiritually?
Emotionally?
Financially? IDK :moo:
I don't get it.

I thought she said they left about 11:30 and she saw them ride by at about 12:15. Didn't she include both times?

GM has been quoted saying both, I still do not know which is accurate?

I think some of the scenarios being offered here suffer from one serious problem, too many points between a and b. I tend to follow the logic of Occam's razor in thinking that the reality is much simpler. The girls were riding around, a predator spotted them, a predator lured them and kidnapped them.

On another point, can anyone offer clarification about the fact that the cellphone was found outside of the purse?

If that is in fact true, maybe they weren't lured at all, but rather quickly snatched.

I would think a supervised surveillance and a supeana of film footage might hint at possible persons of interest. But, LE is keeping things pretty tight-lipped. I just have a strong feeling that this case will not go unsolved and someone will pay for this. Maybe I am just hopeful because I am sick and tired of all these unsolved kidnappings (or should I say...missing children)

I wish you people would leave that poor family alone. If any one of you have not sinned then poke out your eye. This family is grieving for their children, they may not be Ward and June Cleaver, but they deserve support not judgement.

I have compassion for them all and assure you I am a sinner as well ;) and addicted to cigs, but it is what it is and LE has to speculate on the drug involvement just as we are here...and their drug of choice is about as nasty and insane as you can get...along with many of the people who are addicted to it. They all have our support in bringing these babies home...all of us....and that's what we are trying to do. JMO

Thanks ... the big difference I see is that particular meth dealer killed the people that would testify against him, and I suspect that the girlfriend and children were in the wrong place at the wrong time. In this case, only the children are missing and the person that could testify is alive and well.

Just jumping off your post. I know stranger abductions are rare, but I am also thinking abductions of children because of revenge relating to drugs is maybe even more so. I have no idea and that's why I am asking. I live smack in the middle of an area known for meth, and I have just never heard of this happening. Mind you there is every crime imaginable commited because of drugs, be it for revenge or whatever, but never anything resembling an abduction. Dad left alive and well also. If worried about future testimony it is so much easier to eliminate dad. Children that disappear draw a LOT of attention from LE, think FBI, and I think even a meth user realizes this. If someone wants revenge, same thing, so much easier to just deal with dad.

That is how I remember it. Girls left at 11:30, then she spotted them across the street at 12:15.

Grandma said they left at 11:30
She said she became worried when she could not see them outside the house at 12:30
She said she looked everywhere for them from 12:30 to 1:30 and could not find them

If they left at 11:30, they could have definitely made it to the lake and dropped their bikes in the path before TG came along (12:20-12:27).

How likely would it be that Grandma searched for an hour and couldn't find them if they were still around at the time? I don't believe the 2:30 sighting by the man Tammy talked to either because imo, it would be unlikely they would be riding around the lake casually knowing they had not been home since 11:30 and they knew they were not supposed to be gone that long.

All the local news agencies here in Iowa are not fully saying much about this case? Two girls are gone, you would think it would be a big deal.

GM has been quoted saying both, I still do not know which is accurate?

Sorry, didn't make myself clear. IIRC she saw them twice. At about 11:30 and again about 12:15.

I get what you are saying, but a family so entrenched in substance abuse as this one is, is generally just as entrenched in denial and codependency.

Has anyone else noticed that even though HC & MCM are sisters and both their daughters' and nieces' are missing there seems to be a lack of unity?

Imagine being Heather, not only does she have health problems but she's the one cleaning up after her sister, raising her daughter etc... I'm going to assume that she has probably been in this position for quite sometime.

MCM doesn't have health issues but abuses her body and leaves her family to take care of her responsibilities.

My gut tells me that HC is probably pretty sick of watching her sister throw her life away while exposing her kids to this lifestyle. She's probably tired of some family members enabling her sister and now her worst fears have been realized. Lyric stayed with HC until recently and perhaps over the years she's been more of a mother to Lyric than MCM? MCM may not have the bond with Lyric that HC does, so perhaps this explains MCM's behavior and the level of heartache HC is experiencing.

I've been following, but admit to not having read each and every post or link. So, if it's been said before, I apologize. But: one thing stood out for me today while reading - even though I know I've seen the information before. Halfway house. Someone who knew the workings of the family. Someone who knew there might be drugs available? I don't know. It just jumped out at me.

May be a lack of anything new to report. LE is not saying much. The family is not saying as much now either. It is like the calm before the storm.

Unquestioning support would be the domain of a Christian Prayer site...not Websleuths, where most posters are very astute and questioning and can smell when they're being mislead, and discern discrepancies and nuance in an investigation.

I believe that now the subpoena is issued, we can sleuth MCM and WC, and we can sleuth DM as well because he was placed under supervision a week ago by a judge and has been announced as "uncooperative".

I have yet to be corrected on this by a mod?

Either way it is not intending to be bashing anyone, merely "sleuthing" known facts as we are able under TOS, and forming opinions as to how they might explain what is so far unexplainable. We cannot control the content of these published facts, only LE can...if they are unseemly or seem to be derogatory to the family, that is hardly our fault. They are what they are and I believe we are under TOS to discuss them to the limits we have, but of course, I may be 100% incorrect as well.

Mods perhaps might like to clarify? It does seem a bit confusing.

You should pm a mod and ask instead of assuming its ok. Just a suggestion as that's what TOS says to do.

Why would Morrisseys want to do something that brings attention, national attention to their drug problems? IDK.
