I think you might be on to something. Would this possibly account for the 2:30 sighting also, which according to Aunt T was of two girls on bikes?

As far as I know, this has not been confirmed by anyone other than Aunt T,
I could be wrong. :moo:

What street or road did Mr. Carpenter see the girls ride by?

All i know is MCM was WITH GMA and TAmmy but like you said Tammy might have only been in the raw footage IDK.

I know Tammy wasn't in the video that was shown on TV, just Misty and Grandma. But like you said, she might have been in the raw footage.

However, LE specifically stated they wanted raw footage of the interview of Misty and Grandma taken on July 20. No mention was made of Tammy in the subpoena, so I think whatever LE was looking for did not include Tammy IMO.

In case you haven't seen it, here is a link to the video:

You are right, Aunt Tammy is the only one who saw/talked to this man. She said LE had his name and contact info but he hasn't been identified by LE nor has his possible sighting been entered into the timeline.

IMO this man may have seen a couple of girls, but I sincerely doubt they were Lyric and Elizabeth.

No news.....missing 2 weeks and case is already going cold.......heartbreaking.

I don't think it's going cold at all, I think it's heating up.

Any cyclist that has to swerve because of obstacles in the path is going to have a good look around to see who left the obstacle in the path ... especially since it was hazardous. If the girls arrived there moments before the cyclist and Elizabeth's bag was tossed over the fence towards the lake, that suggests the girls were headed towards the lake. It's also possible that a perp was walking the girls down the path to the end of the double fence, but if the cyclist didn't see them, that would even further restrict the timeline.

The girls were seen at 12:15, they rode their bikes a distance of over one mile across at least one busy road to a secluded area at the SE tip of Meyers Lake, they leaned their bikes against the fence or tossed them onto the path, they were dragged or lured to the end of the double fence area, the cyclist who was on that part of the path at 12:27-ish saw nothing except bikes that were arranged differently than how the girl's bikes were found.

Thinking outside the box a little here...If TG, the witness to the bikes in the path, was 5 or 10 minutes off in his estimate of what time he saw the bikes, a totally different scenario can spring forth.

We know the girls left home at 11:30 am. What if TG saw the bikes on the path at 12:10, not 12:20? What if he saw the bikes right BEFORE the girls rode back to the parking lot in town?

That is what I am leaning towards. I think the girls went to the lake earlier, and met up with someone. Maybe the paddle boater, or fisherman, or a family 'friend.' And they were lured back to the lake for a reward, like a boat ride or something fun.

But first they decided to ride back to check in with grandma, to give them more time to hang out and play.

The perp could have said come back at 12:30 and you can borrow the paddle boat. Just leave your bikes here and
go down to the dock behind that house...

Interesting...that they might have gone to the lake first come back, caught on video going away from lake...gone down road where Carpenters live...then....what? Been picked up in a van, went into a house, got held for perhaps hours..and bikes and purse staged at lake by 4:00. They were perhaps taken into protective custody or abducted by a freak. MOO

Thanks! Funny, but extremely sad that this is the state of affairs for some people.

I dought that very much, because the lake is small and they would be seen next to the lake, really no shore.

Not sure I understand (nothing new there). Couldn't they have been in the wooded area when TG rode by and riding on the path again when the 2:30 runner(?) told Aunt T he saw them. I'm sure you're probably right--family should have seen them if they were still there by that time. What time did family reach the lake? (Brainstorming only, so please don't anyone throw anything at me.)

I would love to know more about the paddleboater LE is looking for.

Good Article:

"Federal agents still want to hear from people who were seen paddle-boating on Evansdale’s Meyers Lake on July 13, the afternoon Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, and Elizabeth Collins, 8, disappeared, FBI spokeswoman Sandy Breault said Thursday.

“They’ve had several people who think someone was (paddle-boating on the lake), but they’re still looking for someone who was said to be out there,” Breault said."

also:

"KWWL-TV, an NBC-TV affiliate, turned over all raw and unedited footage of a July 20 interview with Misty Cook-Morrissey, Lyric’s mother, and Wilma Cook, the cousins’ grandmother.

KWWL news director Dan Schillinger said it is the policy of the news station to provide all published material to comply with court orders. In this case, Schillinger said, however, the mother and grandmother were interviewed live for a noon broadcast. There was no additional footage beyond what aired and what was posted on the station’s website."

ALSO:

"On Wednesday, a warrant was issued for another man arrested with Morrissey on drug charges in December 2011. Jason Stolfus, 37, of Waterloo is wanted for contempt of court, according to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department website. :jail:

Breault would not comment on whether Stolfus has been looked at in relation to the girls’ disappearance."

Psychics flock to Evansdale to assist in missing Iowa girls case

An interesting cultural phenomenon unfolds when children are missing and the trail runs dry.

Psychics come out of the woodwork.

Eighty psychics have contacted the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s department with their “visions” of what happened to Evansdale cousins Elizabeth Collins, 8, and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, missing since July 13.

Close, but I think it is simpler than that.

I think they met up with a family 'friend' or a stalker at the lake at around 11:45 or so. They left their bikes in the pathway and were somewhere close by, maybe sitting in the woods or at the shoreline.

I will use the paddle boat example only because LE seems interested in that possibility. Maybe they were having a 'picnic' with their new friend at 11:45ish, and they were told they could borrow a paddleboat if they wanted.

But they were told they needed to leave their bikes there on the trail, and walk over to the dock, to get the boat. So the girls agree, and they ride quickly back to Grandma's, make sure Grandma sees them riding their bikes, then they race back to the lake and do what they were told. [ they rode back to check in so they would have more time to play at the lake without grandma worrying, imo.]The Carpenters may have seen them on their way back to the lake at 12:30ish.

They leave their bikes, maybe even prop them up against a fence this time.
And they walk to the backyard dock area of a local home, expecting to borrow a paddle boat. The perp greet them in the yard, invite them in for a soda or to use the restroom.

At that point they can be zip-tied and placed in a van and taken out of the area, and it is only 12:40ish. And there was nothing to see or hear.
