I have been looking and looking and cannot find the video I saw last night that shows the paddleboat in the background!

It is an Anderson Cooper interview with both Misty and Dan. I think. It could have also been a local news interview with them. But it is definitely both of them and Dan is wearing an orange shirt. In the background, there is a green paddle boat.

Can anyone else find it?

Not sure if someone else found this yet, or if this is the clip you are looking for? Grandma Vicki is interviewed, and during that part, the camera pauses on a green paddle boat in the water. Toward the end, Dan (in orange) and Misty are interviewed, but it is dark in the background.

SPELLMAN: That`s right, Nancy, out of the girls` shoes. Family members were lined up so that the dogs could eliminate their scent. They then followed the scent from where the girls` bikes were found. And we know that the dogs went not too far, but into a wooded area at the end, the terminus, of this bike path. And that`s as far as we know that the dogs got.

SPELLMAN: They did, back towards the bike path, which ends in kind of a wooded area. Nancy, the way this lake is laid out, there`s a bike path that is sort of a U. And in the far corner of the U is where the girls` bikes were found.

And the bike path does not continue past that. It`s a densely wooded area with freeway on one side, a fence, a pretty tall fence, then the bike path, then another fence and then the water. The girls` bikes were found on the bike path between the two fences, and the purse was found between the fence and the shoreline.

A few thoughts -

Is the paddleboat that is being discussed one that is propelled by the feet or one that is moved by using one oar or paddle?

Since the bicycles are said to be two different sizes, can someone determine if there is a difference between the two (or three) that are shown on the video?

Could the raw videos be needed to check for persons inadvertently caught on film such as a perp watching what is happening?

Yes! And now that I think about it, remembering my first impression, I thought it odd she spoke of the girls' spirituality. I guess she was just describing them. I expected more of a description of how someone might recognize them: She's bubbly and talks a lot! She's shy and tends to look down when nervous.

Not sure...but I remember somebody said that..not sure if it was LE though..as I recall, it was somebody who was away and came back to find their paddleboat had been used. The empty for sale house that Ollipop has referred to may have a paddleboat..and the tip may have come from the owners of that house, who may be connected to one of the non-mentionable characters. My thought is that LE is trying to "place" someone at the scene and have been told "said to have" that this someone was there. MOO

Yeah and the empty house last name on the property is the same last name as one of misty friends ( wyant) fishy!! Did the guy go borrow an uncle or cousin boat?

Yes; in the first two days of searching, they had over 1000 volunteers turn out and they covered 12 square miles.

I think it is the slow, awkward type with the feet that peddle the boat through the water.

On google and bing maps - it does not show a paddle boat at that house. It does show a yellow one a couple houses north of that house.

LOl I mentioned the spiritual wording back then and was told to shushhhh.
I only meant that IMHOO that was an odd comment to make about ones

I'm so far behind again, so apologies if this has already been answered. I jumped to the end of the thread hoping for new news, but didn't see much. so I'm picking up where I left off.

I haven't ever heard clarification on the paddleboat but I had the same question. Consensus here from peoples experience and what they've heard called a "paddleboat" seems to be the foot propelled kind. IMO.

Re: the bicycles I think Elizabeth is quite a bit smaller than Lyric as well as 2 years younger, so I assume her bike would be smaller. The first one in the video seems smaller to me than the second. The third... I honestly never thought it is/was a bike, it looked to me like a guy walking. Or anyway a large dark grey thing walking, but it seemed too tall to be someone on a bike. MOO etc.

Raw video: no idea, I haven't really thought that one through much yet. It sounds unlikely they'll even get it unfortunately. Hard to get something that's been destroyed, unless there's maybe a digital "trail" of edits.

Not the first time "past tense" has been used by the family...maybe that's just the way they speak or something. Good catch. MOO

The only ones I haven't heard use the past tense when talking about the girls are the fathers. I have not personally seen any footage of either DM or DC using the past tense but all of the females have at some point, including HC. Even Mrs. Carpenter used the past tense! I enjoy reading about statement analysis (I find it fascinating actually) but I'm not completely convinced of its use in some situations.
