He's wearing gloves.

huh.

Are those biking gloves?

edit - NEVERMIND, next pic shows yes, they are biking gloves.

For some reason that surprised me, but ok. Blisters suck, gotcha Ted.

So ... easy to grab the girls. Thanks. If you had to estimate how long it would take to walk the length of the double fence area, what do you think? Maybe Ollipop has an estimate as well?

A brisk walking pace is around 120 steps per minute. Ollipop said that the area is 210 steps long.

So, at a brisk walk, it would take less than 2 minutes.

Jules71, thanks for the link. Do you know if that person is from Waterloo though, or is there just a similarity in name? For example, there are quite a few people on Facebook that share my name.

When I was at the lake today and coming back on the trail a man walked up and past me, he struck me as strange because he had been sitting in his white van smoking and just staring out at the lake. Then he was walking. He was creepy because as I passed him, I said hi and he didn't even try to make eye contact. He didn't walk long and returned to his vehicle and just sat there. For some reason I got his license plate numbers. You know that feeling when someone just doesn't feel right. I heard perps like to revisit their stomping grounds.

I agree with that.

I think you should call LE and report it.

Could be.

Or he could have been another amateur sleuth!

If I am ever a suspect in a crime, I'll be toast after LE checks out my Google searches.

Ted Gamerdinger is going to be the unwilling hero in this case IMO.

His (reliable) sighting of the bikes will break this wide open.

He is the fly in the ointment, the unseen variable that scheming minds could not plan for.

And can someone please tell me if they know what this area is used for, or what this is? A camp of some sort maybe? Thanks!

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=42.45549,-92.292436&num=1&t=h&z=20

I'm not sure what's back there. There's no road that goes back there as far as legit roads for me to drive on. There used to be lots of houses on river road but with the floods a few years ago, most have been bought out buy the government as green space. Most of the houses you see in that map were torn down this year. A few remain and I imagine what's back there is part of their land.

WHA?? :what:

omg :noooo:

How far is a campground from the lake? tia
:moo:

Maybe half a mile or so. Deer wood is pretty close to the lake and just a straight shot down Gilbert drive from the lake.

Welcome! :) There is only one person on FB with that name. It says he lives in Waterloo, IA and is from Cedar Rapids, IA.
