I’m sad. This map no longer works…I was just browsing through old cases I know about and wanted to see the map…bummer.I was just reading through old discussions from 2012, looking for info about Seven Bridges Park being a youth camp in the 1990s (kayaking and other outdoor sports) and came across this very detailed map about the murders here:
That’s great news!Drew gives an interview:
One of the things that everyone has wondered about is if any DNA was recovered. Less than a minute into the video, Drew mentions investigators feeling positive about new DNA technologies that they believe may help. If I may read between those lines, they have some sort of DNA evidence. It may have been flawed or insufficient, but they must have something for that to be a possibility.
This aired last year, I watched it at the time. The three-part documentary, titled “Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth?” will debut Aug. 8 on HBO Max, a subscription steaming service.

You're right. Here's another from a month agoThis aired last year, I watched it at the time.
Don't know if anyone is getting it just now, but it's not brand new.
did a lot of people used to walk/bike around that pond? I keep seeing mentions of it being "leech -filled" but it seems to have a boat dock, a path and now a memorial garden. Was it basically considered a safe area in 2012?Lizzy and Lyric deserve their Justice and Truth just like Abby & Libby finally received. I know it's been longer, but it's never too late. It will be a happy day when their murderer is caught and convicted. They have not been forgotten, the community was devastated and continued to raise awareness.
I was living in the area when the murders occurred, moved a couple of years later. It was a very troubling, sad and somber time. I remember their posters and ribbons being everywhere, always.I could barely walk down the 'Main Street' without shedding a tear.

It was used as a walking/bike path, no swimming that I can remember when I was there. Yes, it was considered safe, especially during the day because it was so out in the open. I lived by the University in Cedar Falls about 20 minutes from there, but Waterloo (Evansdale) did have some areas known for drug trafficking and rough crowds. I wouldn't be out and about in that area at night.did a lot of people used to walk/bike around that pond? It's good to see some attention back on this case. I believe it was someone local based mainly on the fact that where their bodies were recovered was very, very remote. Not somewhere a person just passing through would know about IMO.![]()
The Evansdale Murders: A Conversation with the Documentarians Behind "Taken Together": Part One
On July 13, 2012, cousins eight-year-old Elizabeth Collins and ten-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey vanished from Evansdale, Iowa. Months later, hunters found...murdersheetpodcast.com
I was just rewatching the documentary "Taken Together". In looking at the drone footage used of the Seven Bridges area, it doesn't look like there even fire roads/paths there? Looks like walking or boating would be the only way to the spot the girls were discovered? The place where Elizabeth's and Lyric's bodies were found would be almost impossible to locate for someone not familiar with the area.
There was local rumor of this being drug related from the very start and that angle was heavily investigated. IDK, I personally think it was a sick child predator, but anything is possible.I just watched the special Taken Together on HBOMax and I think it was drug related. Wasn’t Lyric’s dad supposed to go and agree to a plea deal the day the girls went missing or within a week of the day that they went missing? When a person pleas out in a drug case doesn’t that sometimes involve snitching/flipping on others in the drug world??
I agree. If someone from the father's drug dealings was planning to do this, they would have to know the girls whereabouts that day and where they were going on their bike ride. That would be extremely difficult if not impossible. I believe it was simply a crime of opportunity perpetrated by a local child predator. There was local rumor of this being drug related from the very start and that angle was heavily investigated. Just a horrible tragedy that deserves justice no matter who, and I hope there are answers and somebody is held accountable for Lizzy & Lyric. They were so young and innocent, even younger and has gone unsolved longer than the Abby & Libby from the Delphi case.
