okay, did Klunder plan this abduction of KS/DH or was it random? Was he ever seen in the area before? That red truck of his would stand out like a sore thumb, especially with the big toolbox in the back and the truck being so dirty.

Is there a map of Klunder's hog confinement, the area where the backpacks were thrown (50 miles away I think I read), the bus stop where the girls were picked up, and finally the area where KS was found? the location he was found hanging?

one (of many) similarities I find between the KS/DH abduction vs. LC/EC abduction is the tossing of personal affects (backpacks/EC's purse bikes) and driving far from the abduction location or area where personal effects were located. While family, friends, law enforcement are wasting their time searching near the last know location - Klunder is not even considered because he is long gone .... I do not doubt for one minute that he would be capable of planting the bikes at the lake.

I wonder when was the last time he visited his step-brother in Waterloo? I hope LE has pursued the answer to this question!!!

He is survived by two sons, Gary ... of Garner, and Duane ... of Katy, Texas, and their four children, (Klunders step-siblings).

This is what a local told me last week: "The day the girls disappeared was probably one of the cooler days of the summer, if I recall. It had rained and was in the low 80's I think."

WAVERLY (KWWL) - In just a matter of weeks, 21 at-risk girls will need to be in new homes.

State officials are working to find placements for the youth who will be forced to leave the Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo after the Department of Human Services (DHS) announced the facility will close in January.

Officials said they'll make placement decisions for the girls on a case-by-case basis and the placements will mainly be done through partnerships with community-based providers.

Lutheran Services of Iowa (LSI) has two of about 20 residential facilities in Iowa. One of those facilities, where youth are supervised and under structure 24/7, is at Bremwood in Waverly.

With his prison sentence winding down, Klunder had warned the woman in September 2010 that he would soon be "coming for our son and would find him," she said in court records. Klunder said that comment wasn't meant to be threatening and was "misconstrued." He also he had "no interest whatsoever to see, talk to, or have anything to do with" the former girlfriend, but that he wanted to mend his relationship with their son.

When seeking a no-contact order a month before his release from a work-release facility in February 2011, she alleged that Klunder had subjected her to "sexual trauma" and physical abuse during their relationship. He had pushed her into a wall, grabbed her by the throat, threatened her with a raised fist, punched a hole in the wall behind her head and threw her across a room

In April 2011, Klunder agreed to an injunction that permanently barred him from contacting the woman but allowed him to see his son out of the woman's presence.

yes, I agree. I have another POI in the Lyric/Elizabeth abduction/murder myself. However, in doing research on Klunder .... he sure could be the one responsible. It is scary knowing there are so many people "out there" that are capable of hurting others.
